  1. Thanks for the info! Do any of the areas have power and/or water?
  2. Who can tell me about the legalities of running my T2 and a dirt bike in CA.? Spark arresters, safety flags, and permits right? The permits are confusing.... I need a permit to camp, a permit for a campfire, a permit for the T2 and bike to ride on the dunes, a permit per car/truck I drive in? Are any of these permits one in the same?
  3. The dates are not set in stone yet, but it will be around Nov. 19-20
  4. Ok, this deviates a little from the thread topic but I thought I would try continuing it here and see if I get any traction. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I'm planning to make my first trip to the dunes. Glamis sand dunes to be exact. What sites are best for tent camping vs trailer camping? can you ride from north end to south end? Any pointers or tips in general are greatly appreciated! I am meeting up with in-laws from LA who are driving down and I want to show them a good time, know as much about this ahead of time that I can.
  5. They are 19 lb/hr. from what I have been able to figure out, they are out of a Ford. Seems Ford used these and the larger bodied style for serveral years, mainly in mustangs and trucks. Not sure that we have enough room to fit the larger body injectors. Large body, 19lb Ford injectors, EV1 connector
  6. Do these look like the right body type/style? From the pictures I was able to find of our stock injectors, these look to be the same style. (Sorry, I'm 5,000 miles away right now and can't just go out to the garage and look for myself )
  7. Not sure if you got your front rims or not, but I was looking for a spare and found these. http://www.powersportsplace.com/parts/sum-161-147115m4/overview/ The back spacing is same, 4", bolt pattern same, 4x115, offset is slightly different 4+3 vise stock at 4+2 ( I think, correct me if I'm off on that) but it should still work. I haven't been able to check the hub bore to make sure it would be big enough, but that is just a quick measurement of the hub to make sure it's less than 70mm dia. They have other wheel options that should fit as well, I just liked the price tag on these since I am only looking for a spare.
  8. Going back over all the info everyone has shared, I keep coming back to this. Just can't get my head around why/what turning the front tires around does for us? I believe you that it works, just can't figure out how?
  9. How about you Lenny, how did you figure out what injectors to buy?
  10. SilverBullet.....Jose......are you still out there? Will you respond to anything?
  11. Are you making it out of the original fuel controller, or something altogether different? Uuummm, not to sound totally stupid, but I'm not understanding about injectors. So how do you know what exact injector will fit the engine? Aside from lb rating, how do figure out which one we need, there are tons of different types and styles, what did you use to cross reference into a new. As for the 28# injectors, Lenny, I can't believe your running that big of injectors! A mildly built 350 TPI motor in my Trans Am is running 24# injectors. Are you running a really short injection pulse to compensate for the big injectors?
  12. Dedub, what fuel controller did you get? Anyone change out injectors when they went to turbo?
  13. Wow, that's a lot of paddle, assuming you were using 4wd? If that's the case, a turbo motor should have no trouble turning just the 33x16 rears with steering tires out front, right? Or is the T2 too heavy for steering tires out front?
  14. what were you running up front when you were running the 33x16 paddles in back?
  15. What brand are the tires? I am a little worried about going too aggressive and overloading the engine. When you say 12" wheels fit "early" troopers, how early we talking? 09'?
  16. Hoping to make my first trip to the dunes this fall. Wondering what tires people have had good luck with on the T2 in the sand? Do I need to go full paddle? Hoping to be turbo charged by then also, so that may affect tire choice.
  17. It's time to go forward with the turbo plans. Talking to No Limitz now about getting the turbo. Dedub, you'll have to let us know how the kit looks and install goes. You get the intake too?
  18. Kinarfi - Awesome job on that fuel sensor. I think you'd have a lot of interested buyers if you want to sell them, myself included. I have soldered my stock one back together twice, and it is broke again. I'm getting tired of fixing it and it's not even remotely accurate when it is working!
  19. Just want to give props to you for putting together this kit! Great to have you working on Joyners, love what you are doing. Any chance I have, I'm gonna buy from you and support your biz.
  20. Got a performance map, or A/R numbers, etc for the turbo they found you? I maybe interested in getting the turbo and a couple other components through you if you would be interested in selling me some of the pieces(or maybe the kit, pending price)? A couple questions about the kit your putting together, is the turbo water cooled or oil only? Is the oil feed line restricted? Are you using an oil catch tank? Will your kit include a boost controller? Is it intercooled? I know its a lot of questions, sorry to bombard you with them all, just things I'm considering while looking at these different kits.
  21. Wat kind of advice did the Dobeck tech give you on dialing in the fuel controller? Maybe he gave you some tips that could help me dial mine in a little better!
  22. Ok, latest update on turbo data that I think I've figured out so far. In order to use the performance maps of the various turbos, we need to figure out a few things about our engine, namely the pressure ratio and air volume in lbs/min. I did this using the formulas given on http://www.junkyardturbos.com/index.php. A couple of the variables I plugged in were engine rpm and ambient temperature. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm too far off base with the max rpm number (as I'm deployed and am trying to do this all from memory), but I used 5000 rpm for the top end and 2500 for the mid. Target boost pressure I set at 8psi, ambient temperature i took the average for a year in tucson AZ being 80 deg F. Do these sound about right? If so, these are the following numbers to shoot for on performance maps when selecting a turbo. Pressure ratio: 1.54 lb/min @max rpm: 11.03 lb/min @mid rpm: 5.54 So far I have found the Garrett GT1548 performance map to be the best fit for these numbers.....problem....the cost. Haven't had a lot of luck finding sellers of this little turbo, and it's smaller than most cars would use. A new GT1548 runs between $600-$700, I need an alternative, any suggestions?
