  1. Coming from someone who makes his living reading and inturpreting gauges, I understand your necessity to feel like you can trust your gauge reading. Only thing I would offer is that infrared readings are usually 10deg F lower than actual internal temp. This is of course just a rule of thumb, material type, thickness, exposure duration, ambient temp, etc, all influence the differential, but adjusting by 10 gets you in the ball park with most steel piping. Secondly, for observational purposes, you just need consistency in the gauge out put. If the OEM gauge reads steady and reflects temp changes, then you have a relative reference. Even if it says coolant is at 200 when really it is at 220, that's ok as long as it indicates a rise or fall in temp. Now if you are doing in depth diagnostics it becomes increasingly more important that the actual reading accurately reflect the actual temp. So I guess it all depends on what you are looking to achieve. Only reason I mention it is because when you start talking about drilling and taping the head I get nervous. Not knocking the method, it's solid advice and I trust anything Lenny has to say about mods/repairs on these. I just worry about getting the cooling passages clean of metal cutting dabree after the drill & tap while the head is still on the motor. Not being able to flush and blow all the chips out with out washing them further into the engine. Just food for thought, and I may have missed some info here that puts me totally off base. If so, ignore me
  2. I want to say thanks to everyone who is speaking up and trying to help me. I promise I will keep updated what is (or isn't) happening with my order.
  3. I would like to buy a kit, but I think I will be piecing together my own. I just cant afford the kits I have found. At this point figuring out what turbo I want to use is the key factor holding things up.
  4. I definitely want to stay on pump gas. I'm thinking of buying a turbo with 8PSI as the target boost and a boost controller so I can go over or under that as needed to max out without getting pre-ignition. Would like to avoid pulling the engine down and shaving pistons, but I love the sound of 121hp with lots of low end!
  5. Hey SB, Looks like your thread got hi-jacked again. Talking about someone else's product.....Maybe if you actually responded these would be your customers talking about your product. Instead since you still have not made any attempt to contact me and wont respond, I'll chime in here and let everyone know... http://www.amazon.com/Innovate-Motorsports-3795-Complete-Wideband/dp/B001QFH2RW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1347577830&sr=8-4&keywords=innovate+air%2Ffuel+ratio+gauge Same A/F gauge SB sells, ships immediately, reputable seller, guaranteed to actually get your part, and its CHEAPER.
  6. What kind of boost are people running, pump gas, stock motor, with the fuel controller? Can we run 8psi safely?
  7. Maybe someone smarter than me can make more sense of this, but seems to be lots of good info here on sizing the turbo http://www.junkyardturbos.com/Turbocharger-Area-Ratio.php
  8. All great info, thanks! Great find on those specs plumber! Interested in knowing more about what nocturnalsixer commented on, the ar. Does a larger ar mean longer spool time as well as more air? Goindeep - appreciate you sharing the development info. I guess I really want to help out the weak low end of the power band on this thing. Wouldn't mind getting more power up top as well, but my main target is the anemic low end. Which of the turbos you've tried has been best for this? I keep thinking smaller turbo, shortest spool time, boosting lower in the rpm range. However, I'm afraid I will size it too small and actually end up with no gain up top, or worse yet, hurting the top end. You got an estimation on HP gains for any of your combos?
  9. I'm thinking real hard about turbocharging my T2. Let's be honest, at this point it's only a matter of time. Before I do it. So I'm trying to figure out what size turbo to use. I was hoping some of you out there who have already turbo'd yours could give some input. What is the biggest factor I should be looking at to keep spool time down; AR, Trim, wheel size? Say for example I'm looking at a T25, I've found many different specs on different T25 turbos ranging from .80AR to .50Ar all with different wheels and trim. This is gonna be an expensive endeavor, so I want to make sure I get it right the first time!
  10. Jose, what gives??? You going silent on the line again?!?! You've got feedback from faithful SB customers and disgruntled customers alike saying that you need to get on the ball with the communication issue. You haven't chimed in at all since your response on the 30th of august, and even Lenny has suggested that you do something to get me taken care of and he is probably your biggest supporter. Tell me, tell us, what you are doing/going to do to take care of this! It's time for you to do some damage control. I mean more than making a post, using words. I expect information, action, and compensation from you for all this bull$h!tt. What are you going to do to rectify this?
  11. Glad you pointed that out. I forgot about that. I did have to modify the lower frame of the firewall so they wouldn't rub when cranking the wheel over.
  12. To everyone ponying up on behalf of SB, please hear me out. I am not out to bad mouth SB because i dont like them. I appreciate what SB has tried to do. I have tried to give them, Jose in particular, a chance to get things worked out. If you read back through this thread, you will see that I have been patient and understanding in my inquires (until 4 months had gone by). Aside from my posts here, there have been numerous emails exchanged. Once 4 months had gone by I have been increasingly more persistent. Is there anyone here who thinks that I am being unreasonable to expect service (or a refund) within 4 months of placing and PAYING for an order. For those of you who say to be patient and give him more time, does he have any of your money right now? Has SB had it for (now 5 months)? To be clear, I am talking about an order I placed in the beginning of April.... Also, is it consider bad mouthing when you report, in fairness, your experience with a BUSINESS? Before you spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a product, you research it, right? If we, UTVboard are likely the biggest centralized customer base, why should we not protect each other from bad business practice? While i have only been a Joyner owner and site member for a short time, I have tried to be a contributing member. It's not my desire to alienate anyone, tick people off, or otherwise anger anyone (silverbullet included). I value the expertise and experience of fellow Joyner owners here on the site. Hopefully you respect mine.
  13. I know Jose mentioned this cam deal in his response. I would like to clarify this situation and my sentiments about it. 1) the order was placed in April and has not been filled or refunded. 2) Phone calls to Rick were unsuccessful, email with Jose had been working until end of July 3) I appreciate that Jose is making sure that the products he sells are of quality, therefore delayed cam sales 4) In July I requested that either parts were shipped or a refund was issued by July 27th 5) Jose responded with an email stating that the cams would not be ready and a refund would have to be issued. It would be issued in the form of a money order sent in the mail. 6) Appx 2-3 weeks went by and I did not received a refund. I have been attempting since then to contact SB via email and this forum. This posting is the first sign of life I have seen from SB. For everyone saying "give the guy a chance, it's hard", I hear you. I would like to think that I have. However, if someone asks about SB, should I not tell them what my experience has been? Also, while people state that we need to be patient, are they on the hook for any money with SB? Jose, I think that I am being very reasonable and nice about this issue, I don't know of too many other people that would be at this point, 5 months after placing and paying for an order that has never been received. I gave you 4 months to straighten it out and asked that if you could not do it, to refund me. Do you, or anyone else for that matter, feel that I'm being unreasonable?
  14. No, 15" rims. They are the "revolver" I think is the model, made by vision. The tires are truck/jeep tires. I got them in a swap deal when rocmoc sold his T2.
  15. Yeah, sadly a trip out there is in order I think. Anyone else need their money back?
  16. I struggled with the decision to swap out my wheels and put a set of 31" on there. Did it and haven't looked back......except to smile! The extra ground clearance is awesome, and like Charlie says, 1st gear usability improved. I was worried that I would loose some of the rock crawling abilities, but I have still been able to climb all the same hills after the swap as I did before. I actually use first gear now though. Still it should be said that the low end torque lacks the ability to impress, on an 09' model at least, regardless of the tire size.
  17. Helloooooo......... Silverbullet? You still out there???? Still no cams......still no refund......still no response from you......
  18. goindeep, do you have a new/ custom exhaust manifold with your turbo kit? Any chance you got pics of that? I'm assuming the cat goes away, but do you have to worry about a flame arrester where you are? I think I would still be required to have an arrester, how much effect do you think that would have on the turbo?
  19. I know he's trying to pick up the business where he got it, but you might not want to ignore your gut feeling. I paid for a set of cams for the T2 over FOUR months ago! Silver Bullet still has my money and I don't have the parts. I'm not the only one who has had problems either. Also I have been unable to get a refund. Jose told me that a money order would be in the mail to me by the 27th of July, still haven't seen that.... I ignored my gut, I had a similar experience to yours prior to them taking my money. I bought from SB anyways because they are the only ones offering the performance cams and I really wanted that upgrade. I rolled the dice and that hand has not played out well for me. Bottom line, order at your own risk.
  20. You'll have to keep us posted on the cam and turbo kit development. I like my T2, but I'm sure I'd love it with some more power. Time to fabricate and develop stuff for it isn't something I have though. If you get a new cam grind dialed in you might have a few buyers for that as well!
  21. You got rocmoc's old rig turbo'd yet? I'll probably hit you up for a turbo setup IF I can ever get my money back out of SB....
  22. You ever get any resolution? I'm on the hook for a set of cams also. Have been for 4months. It's too bad cause I liked what SB had going.......if you could get the part.
  23. Jose, Wondering what the status is of my order, or refund, for the cams ordered on April 6 that have not been received. I wouldn't really think it needs to be stated, but I'm very upset about not being taken care of. 4 months...... I have been as patient and understanding as I can to this point, recognizing that you were in a state of transition, but patients are exhausted. Please resolve this
  24. Yeah, insurance companies are happy to insure polaris, kawasaki, can am, arctic cat, etc. but they don't know what a joyner is even when you tell them it's the same as a rzr. They just don't know what to do with it.
