  1. Ok Guys.... Pulled rear out and apart.... So who has a pinion they want to sell? Unless you just want to sell me 3 teeth. Well 2 1/2.
  2. Check this out! Might have looked on the Internet for days but look what I found. I didn't know there was so many protocols... geesh. Looks like one I'll be buying. http://www.auterraweb.com/obdiipinout.html
  3. Thanks Guys! I'm going to maybe look into somethings when it's apart and see about motors that might bolt up. And maybe a different rear end. I don't know if it's me or what but I'm tired of this rear.. This makes 3rd time iv had it apart..... after yesterday I don't think it's going to be very good outcome when I pull it apart....lol
  4. Well fixed the rear locker cable and put new tie rods on. My buddy that helps me went for a ride down the slate dump to make sure it was locking and unlocking. Well he went to come back home and went up a hill and heard a Bang! Well let's say it pretty much stopped itself and wouldn't move from the hill. He ran to get me and I went to look.... Yeah....... here it goes! The rear end must have broken inside and locked up. This is not where it ends. It locked so hard that it actually broke the shaft stub off coming out of transmission to the rear drive shaft......... Yep its prob going to be setting awhile.... Sad Day for me....
  5. Mine is a 2009 and it has the obd plug hanging right beside the computer. Also I talked to my Casey Ye. And she cannot get a scanner cheap enough that we would buy. Here is an idea. How many sensors are on this machine and can we change computer to an American made? Yeah we would have to rewire it but I have cut my whole plug off computer before just to put it in a water proof case..
  6. I'm sure we could. But they would be pricy I'm sure.... Rip the rear apart.. your just wishing and hoping it's not it when you know it is.... lol
  7. I'd rather spend money on a transfer case or a 2nd lower gear Or 1st gear lower or both...
  8. Prob end up needing slip joints too... lol mo money. I would use Toyota drive shaft with a Carden joint slip joint. Weld Carden to our bell at rear or at wheel utilize the slip joint and Bam.... Done.. longer shocks and your set..
  9. http://www.highangledriveline.com/42cv.html Do it with something like this..
  10. I was into rock crawling with My Toyota and researched drive shafts. If we could apply there tech it would work out nice.
  11. It has alot to do with the cv design also.
  12. If the a arms where longer it would change the angle at both ends of axle towards the negative side.
  13. Nope need longer a arms on front and rear would need to be wider.. it's all about those cv's. Angle them too much and they blow apart..looked at it already.. Hey you find that front end noise?
  14. Hey Charlie. ... Thought you was selling it..... Anyways I did have clinking but mine was come from a blown off heim on the A arm. Only did it when I hit the brakes..if you think it's coming from that front rear end drain the oil.... I did mine just to redo fluids and it came out like silver paint.... yeah broke that cross shaft in that one too..... Guess what it's welded now..I'm done playing with them...Text me if needed.....np
  15. What you looking for exacly? I'm in New Stanton Pa...
  16. If you go to do this conversion grab the 2 electric plugs that come from car it will be the middle one. black and red and 1 small one with 2 wires small wires I believe. There is only 1 more plug but that one comes from electric motor on the steering.I grabbed the whole column including steering wheel and lower complete shaft assembly. I'm sure there is a difference in the column s between the years that is listed. Mine is the one Out of an Chevy Equinox with tilt.
  17. This should help in figuring out what is needed...
  18. Anything can work if you want to design and fabricate the parts needed. I chose the easier path. The stock column could be fabricated to fit. But the power unit would be real low. I can tell you this. If you run locked front and climb a hill I'm sure you know if it catch on one side your steering will rip your fingers off. With these units you can do the same hill climb with one hand on steering and have little problems. This is why I chose to do it. If you like stock looking ad ons and just plug and play it is not happening unless someone would do a kit for our Joyners. Which prob won't happen. Could I improve and make it easier for everyone? Probably.. But at that point your back into alot of money. I feel that most people that own Joyners are people that are fabricators machinist hobbyists that are self doers. So a kit just wouldn't be profitable or worth making kits because of machine work that would be involved for parts to just bolt in. I'm gonna guess a kit to bolt in would be in the 700.00 range.... because of various variables that would have to be addressed.
  19. I posted my pics at my Sperlak's fix it shop facebook page. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=rhhtVYPlN4vHsQTIu4PwAg&url=https://www.facebook.com/Sperlak%3Ffref%3Dphoto&ved=0CCIQFjAC&usg=AFQjCNH97RjaX_3DGofqouo3HQEPHntgjg&sig2=pJl9UjS2fGGuPVgx9bjpgg
  20. Yeah around 150.00 plus some fab work then welding and grinding. .. this one was alot easier I feel then the other one I had in it... going to seal off around the steering this time and leave the computer unsealed I think... we will see how lazy I get...
  21. Well guys my first system started failing and I needed to figure out why. So I started pulling it apart to check it out. My computer box that I sealed up had either leaked some water in or it just corroded because it was sealed tight and the heat it produces might have caused an issue. Either way I could have put a new computer in it for about 150.00.. UK model I used from a Corsa b. But I did some research and found that my guy is making a control unit for an American electric steering unit. So with his kit and a complete volume the rebuild of my steering is underway. This style is an easier one to install less brackets. With this unit being more compact I am going to keep the box unsealed and up in the dash area. Also these are alot cheaper then shipping from UK and are readily available. I paid 75.00 for a complete unit and another 70.00 for the control. So 145.00 and some fab work power steering is a no brainer... pics later...
  22. This might sound dumb but see if you can do a video with sound for us to hear... maybe take pictures of all your front end with tires off... As far as steering in locked 4x4.. I believe there all like that... I installed my own electric steering. Can be done now for less then 300.00 if you can fab and weld..
