El Golfo, very small city one major Dune which can get chaotic. I don't remember about RV sites there. I choose to sleep under the stars years ago there.

Off roading that I do. I have done quad racing Desert style, anything from Grand Prix to point to point racing. I'm adding a link for the local off road community here in Mexicali CODE. It's next race is Feb 11. I have a few friends racing this race in trucks or buggies, I will help run a pit for one vehicle.
What is close for off roading here in Mexicali is Laguna Salada it is typical Desert Racing, sand, rocks woops big and small and a dry lake bed that isn't so dry. Camping is the tough part, pretty much a tent, unless yountravelmback towards town to some small hotels, where out of town racers stay. If you have an RV that works but no electrical or water hook ups.
There is also a hot springs in this area with some camping never camped there but I could do the research. I have used the hot springs after a race which was relaxing.
About 45 minutes from Mexicali up the mountain 4000 ft level is more riding, I'm not very familiar with it though.
Then to the south is San Felipe home of the Baja 250 from SCORE racing, this is on gulf and lots of off road riding here, and you will find An American Community that you can rent homes or other places to bring RV's ( I believe)
If there are some seriousmpeoplemabout this I'm happy to do the leg work to get more info.
I know many worry about safety but I have been to all these places and livedmhere in Mexicali for the last 10 yrs. imam more secure living here thane when I was in San Diego or Orange County.

Update, bought larger radiator 19" height x 22" length 1750 cfm fan and will relocate in the storage area below the spare tire carrier. Once installed hopefully in a couple weeks will post pictures of what I did.
-
Let me know. If it means a 4-5 hr drive I'm ok to get what I need if they are open

Guessing Dallas Fort Worth

Where are you at.

Getting there. Any idea to know which number I was?
-
Last gas for anyone that has found or can find the stock radiator, otherwise going custom and looking to mount below the spare tire carrier. Should help with the damn heat here in Mexicali, already picked up a better fan.
-
Well see maybe I can make just a day trip since it is going to be close to me.
-
Happy New Year to all. I really need to make the effort for the Jamboree but we have a race near the same time.
-
Back in the hunt for the radiator have ordered twice and then got refunded since the supplier didn't have. Anyone else know where to look.
Still trying with Silverbullet, JMC and No limits 4x4.

I bought my sled used and it came with extra wheels + 31" tires. They were too big so i dropped 1" and they just fit. Very happy with them but I don't get into sand. Won't be good for that but this opens up more options for tires. Good luck!
PS: I will post pics later

Thanks. I see the rims and the tires both Last question I hope didn't you have to have a smaller rim on the front so you don't rub the a-arm or are you using the same tire all around.
-
Welcome to the crazy world of UTV's! I'm relatively new to this sport too. I spent my younger days getting high, listening to music and chasing females ! Good luck with the tire search. I use Discount Tire for all my tire needs. They supplied me with 30" Rocky Mtn AT's for extra clearance on my 08 Joyner T4 (see, I'm still getting high!). Have fun and watch this forum for loads of good info.
I've been looking for some tires also. The 30's you found fit the stocks rims or did you replace the rims also. A link would be great since I didn't actually find what you previously posted.

Well as a Gringo living in Mexicali still feeling good about security. I still get to San Felipe and Ensenada a few times a year for the races was just in San Felipe on the 3rd of Dec. stayed at El Dorado which I always enjoy.
-
Well tell us what you did
Ended up buying a stock radiator. I was at my local race prep shop for the Baja and what the locals in Mexicali were quoting was close to 500 for a custom radiator. So I went with the stock radiator and a fan from Kar Tech that pulls 1700 cfm. I trust the guys that prep the race cars for us, so that is the path I took.
Still in need of the sensor though. Have an email into JMC. I've tried contacting silver bullet but not happy with there poor customer service.

Issue resolved for Radiator, now looking for the temp sensor only
-
Just to put an end to this toggle switches will be used
-
All I need to replace my radiator, I have been quoted 500 to make one here in Mexicali, which will be a good raidiator im sure of that, but has anyone found something else besides buying just the replacement on line. I saw Lenny took something from an Acura, but he had to make some mods. Is there anything else that is more durable that fits?
-
Lenny,
Did you have to mod anything for this to fit.
-
Could someone take a pic of the toggle switch mounted for me.

I looked at my driver '08 Trooper and my '09 parts Trooper today. Entirely different. I think it is going to be hard to get the '08 parts (which includes the switch) as time passes and maybe already hard to find. My switch does not have a indicator light anyway. Only a few of the early Troopers exist so most parts houses aren't going to have '08 parts. Toggle is the way to go, I would use a rocker toggle myself. Good luck!

Thanks. I believe I also have one of the early ones also. Since i dont have an indicator light either. So I can ask the mechanic to install a toogle switch then. Since it is bundled with the winch I guess I need to change both?
-
Just looked at the schematic and the electric 4X4 actuation unit defaults to 4X4 engaged when no power is applied, you apply power to disengage, so a simply toggle would do, except you wouldn't have the indicator light. This info is just in case you need to riding and don't get you switch installed.
Kinarfi
Thanks. Well it's at the shop for a good revision and some repairs at this time. If I can't get the switch then I can ask them to install a google for the mean time
Thanks again
