  1. Where is the computer located on the T4, my intention is to do a test this weekend, and most likely will need to swap the computer where we are testing at. Also recommended tools to replace the computer.

Second question oxygen sensors I also want to test disconnecting them, What I though I heard is there are 2 of them on the exaust manifold.

Pictures would be very helpful, since the manual doesn't show a good location.

  2. Lenny I will take it. Dumb question same computer for the T-4. I understand once I buy it's mine if I don't need it. I'll probably hold on to it or put it on eBay.

I've recently was given a Trooper ECM to sell. Was getting ready to put it on Ebay. Asking $350.00. This came out of a running Trooper and to reconfirm it being good I tested it on Kinarfis Trooper when we were at Coral Pink Sand Dunes. The computer is good. I don't like to ship stuff back and forth like computers so if it doesn't solve your problem it will be up to you to resale it to get your money back out of it. Let me know if your interested and I won't put it on Ebay.

  4. Thanks to all so far. I hope to get time this weekend to dig in with the mechanic

I will relocate fuel gauge if possible, I believe it is dropping but unsure because it sounds starved of gas. New Bosch pump put in a few months ago, could be an intermittent bad pump.

It is has happened both hot and cold, but moe when hot.

I will keep this thread updated until the problem is fixed or I put in VW motor.

I will also IAC valve and the computer for moisture.

Will also see if someone has the equipment to read the fault codes.

  5. All I have been reading but not finding what is happening to me yet. I have been fighting the same problem for months now.

The t-4 will flat out go at times then it will loose power down to 500 rpms or so for 5-15 seconds then you hear it regain the rpms and off I go again.

I have completely cleaned the gas tank, repositioned the filter changed the filter numerous times. Added the a higher pressure Bosch pump.

I thought it was a dirty tank with debris getting in the way since when I took my foot off the gas it would recover in a few seconds 5-15.

I read the post about the IAC but most of them were about over revs. I thought maybe it was the computer protecting itself, if too high of revs.

I'm too the point just just throw this engine out and put a VW in it.

  6. This weekend race is in the Laguna Salada just west of Mexicali the race is a 200 mile night race.

For the Baja 500 I will also be there near the start and moving Erendira by 2pm to watch them again and provide pit support. I will update with a few photos and any great videos of the Trophy Trucks.

  7. hey thanks Quig it was a pleasure to meet you this winter also hope you get some good riding time up in the fresh weather while we cook down here in AZ. Lenny i took over the shop and moved to a diffrent location seems to be going pretty smooth going to be doing a build thread of a project we have in here now (0.020 over forged pistons @9.0-1 comp, custom ground cams for forced induction, meth injection kit, and some other little mods here and there) should be fun :) detbohica i know but when you check it out on the computer its pretty nice haha also i see you live in mexicali we are not too far i was there this weekend any good riding sites?

Riding near Mexicali I love getting to the Laguna Salada area near the canon de Gudalupe it is straight forward Baja racing terrain. There is so much open riding area it is insane, but if you don't know the area or don't has Gps that works I.e. Lowrance or equal you can have big time problems.

I will get over to your shop one day since I'm probably on of the closest, but not the closest.
