  1. Going to all that work you want to pull the head. You need to hone the cylinder walls so the rings seat better. Also check for scratches in the walls. AND most ring compressors are made to sit on top of the block as the piston is pushed / hammered into the cylinder. I normally use the wooden handle of a hammer to push / tap the piston in. Be careful!

Power wash the engine while it is still in your Trooper then you will have min cleaning later.

Anyone know if a short block is available and how much $ ?

Also take the time to have the cam ground to a torque grind. I differently would do this if you are tearing the engine apart. Hard part would be finding a cam shop that still remembers how to Hot Rod.

I don't know about available but JMC has this Engine Block Trooper CYLINDER BLOCK ASSY 1,413.44

  2. HI Silverbullet

We have made a bearing for Troopers it is a Dual Taperd Roller bearing .It is not the ball bearing like Joyners are.Comes With a 1 year warrinty

Rick do you have them in stock and how much. What about them ball joints do you have them in stock

  3. Sounds like a good idea and probably the easy route. I was going to start a help kinarfi buy new equip page because I'm so destitute that I thought everyone would want to send me money, but when my wife fell down and hurt her self while laugh at me, I decided not to, didn't want anyone else hurt. Would you like to be my first contributor? :D

I'll stop by Fort Knox and make a withdraw for you

  4. Went to the dunes the other day and had a few hard slams into the dunes and on a few other rides I ended up sitting on one front wheel and the other side rear wheel. I was looking at my rig from the rear and it looked like the right wheel was leaning in, so I took the wheel off, undid the spindle and axle and put a long pipe through the trailing arm where the axle comes through and pried on it until I bent the pipe,1 1/4", then I jacked the Trooper up as high as I could, put the pipe through again and blocked the pipe up under the Trooper with some wood and let the jack down and pushed down on the other end until I bent the pipe again. I put every thing back together again and the wheel looked a lot better for being straight up and down. I did notice that the round tube just inside the lower spindle mount was now dented.

What is the easiest way to strengthen the swing arm?

    Kinarfi

    Sorry, no pics

The easiest way I know is to buy the chrome moly trailing arms from silver bullet only 850.00 and if I had your money I would buy two pairs so you can give me a pair since I'm a poor hillbilly lol !!!

  5. Troopers make a very poor substitute for snow mobiles. Went for a ride and got stuck, got muddy, but the mud was very wet & didn't stick too bad, started at Mt. Pleasant & went up to Skyline Drive, got cold too, so we left and went Thistle and went up Lake Creek for another ride, this time the mud was a lot stickier. Good ride, just lots of clean up.

It will be six more weeks before we get snow

  6. I can absolutly guarantee you that he would be the opposite of that. The new sherriff will be the best thing for Joyner in it's short history so far, for sure.

    Cheers Mike.

Mike I think you misunderstood me when I say he better be a bad mother f *****I mean he better be good. let's hope the new sherriff will bring good thing to joyner

  7. Honestly I would NOT purchase my Trooper again. Love that I have it but there is no comparison with Honda. I have had to make WAY TOO MANY MODS to stabilize it. If I had to to it over again I would look at RZR or the New Can Am first. You will have to be major mechanically inclined or have a health wallet at time goes by to keep the Trooper on the road. Parts are not nearly as available and thus far the Company it's self is not dependable. Aftermarket is nearly non-existence even tho a couple remarkable dealers are trying. I have been to the UTV Rally in Moab and can say the others preform nearly as well and are easier to drive at times. Have no plans of selling mine but would not buy another. I have had mine since Dec '07 so have played with it a lot. Still have my '83 Suzuki PE and '04 Honda CRF450 so I do know what quality is in off-road equipment. I had hoped that by this time Joyner would have stepped up their game but they are / have p*ssed away the opportunity! I will always give my objective opinion even if it hurts. JMHO!

I agreed with rocmoc I like my trooper but parts are hard to get.If I had to do it over it would be the rzrs

  8. Plumber, the rattling noise is a GOOD noise. It means your pad is free to do it's job. They place clips on street cars to keep them from rattling but increase drag on the pads to the rotor surface. Racer always remove the clips to get max speed/power. IT IS A GOOD SOUND! All of my toys rattle except the two street vehicles.

    rocmoc,

This is true but the rattling noise drives me crazy

  9. Sure wish you guys posting stuff for sale would also add the location of the item or update you profile. FIRST thing I look for! Even just the State would help.

rocmoc the reason they don't list anything is because it's a scam. I have email a few of them and tell them that I will take it they email me back and ask for a address so they can ship it to me .I tell them that I will pick it up give me a phone number and address and then you don't hear no more from them. Email them and I bet you can't get a phone number. That quad crazy is full of them be carefull

  10. Well I stopped by a few part stores on the way home today and guess what..no luck as with the rest of you.I got home and pulled the drive shaft(not as hard as I thought).

Rocmoc, I Tried looking up a polaris dealer to get the boot with the part number you have and the only deale I could find around hear must be closed down. The number listed was disconnected and information had no listing. They used to be a large motorcycle/utv/jet ski dealer,Hahn Motorsports in Anaheim.Anyway will try again tomorrow to find a place.

ricksrb did you have to pull your diff out to get the drive shaft out

  11. The Trooper enclosures are nearing design completion so not to long to wait now. I will have photos before you receive them and will post them here as soon as I receive them.

Plumber, thanks once again for the use of your Trooper and sorry that it was needed for so long. Have you got a pick up date yet?

    Cheers Mike.

Your Wellcome,No pick up date yet I hope I can go get it Oct. 9 that will be one month they should have it done by then.I'm getting a windsheild made for mine they look nice

  12. This is for those who have surge tanks and need a transfer pump, I bought a Mr. Gasket 12S for my motor home and it failed, I have a bad habit of running my tanks dry before switching and I think this one failed because it didn't prime quick enough and melted its plastic bearing and stalled out. After tearing it apart and seeing how it's built, I think I'll buy another one for my Trooper and take the one out of my Trooper and put it in the motor home. Here's the first of the photos I took of it.

2855870700104110397HSAaLH_th.jpg 2495987950104110397GdSyFY_th.jpg I was surprised to see it was a vane pump, I expected it to be a vibrating solenoid pump.

    Kinarfi

This is the fuel pump I used on my surge tank Facet Integral Filter Pump - 40223. Dura-Lift Pumps it has it's own fuel filter, ckeck vavle and a 4 hour dry run.

  13. Guess who is using a chery motor in there sidexside ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? . JOHN DEERE in there 825i it"s a 812cc chery engine Deere Power

Powering the 825 is a liquid-cooled, 812cc, EFI, DOHC, Inline Triple, the first from a major ATV manufacturer. It's got four-valves per cylinder, making it a 12-valve motor! If that sounds like something straight out of an automobile, it's for good reason; the engine is from a mini car manufactured by Chery International in China
