  1. Hey Rick, do you have or know someone that has a camo hood and left front camo fender that I can buy for a 2009 trooper t-2? I also have an extra right front fender (camo) brand new and a right rear fender (camo) brand new if anyone needs one. Please let me know ok.

    Thanks Steve

    Steve,

Sorry but I dont, have you tried Silverbullet?

  2. I added a column signal switch about a year ago. It's not interfaced with the column so it turns itself off after the turn so you see me getting ready to turn a lot when I'm not. Good Lord, It's way too long after I turn it on to completing the turn to remember to turn it off. The one down on the dash just doesn't work without you crashing while you fumble around trying to finding it.

    Lenny

I do know what you mean. The one I ordered on ebay arrived yesterday and it looks pretty good.I'm sure I wont be able to get it to turn off also after making a turn but like you said I wont have to keep reaching over to the dash switch.A few months back I added a couple green LED's on the dash to help remind me to turn the turn signals off after turning(one for the left and one for the right) they work great,at night its impossible not to see them as they are flashing.I also added 3 idiot lights to the center of dash in front of driver(green temp, amber oil,and red alternator)just in case I miss reading the gauges.

  3. Rick, All depends on parts arriving. One of the problems of living in the sticks. Everything has to be shipped. I will let you know the moment parts arrive. Sure sorry about pulling your chain on the time frame. Also Lenny may be ready.

No problem.Be nice to meet Lenny also if he could make it.Maybe better time frame for some others to join us also.

  4. WELL, and a deep one! Looks like the left bearing is going, nearly 1/2 of my neg camber is because of the bearing. The right side is not at bad only about 1/4 of the neg camber is caused by the bearing. Needless to say looks like I am now tearing down the swing arms.

Rick, TOO much work now. Still waiting for trailer parts for the suspension rebuild, shocks and now the rear bearing. The left one is too loose to chance an outing so I don't believe there is anyway to make the 10th.

Lenny, when could you be ready to meet Rick and me at Lake Havasu?

    rocmoc n AZ

Really sorry to hear that. Are you still planning the Yuma trip on the 14th? Let me know what dates for LH or anywhere else as long as its over a weekend and I can work on taking a Friday or Monday off.

  5. I DID IT! I am going with my new plan as my pot of gold has a bottom. This is what I bought, http://offroadwarehouse.com/products/sfID1/12/sfID2/113/sfID3/93/productID/164. If you put in the word BLACKFRIDAY in the coupon box in checkout you get another 10% off so my total for the two shocks was $243 with free shipping, no tax & one additional free re-valving if I don't like my first choice. This is going to work best for me. I am already so pleased with the ride of my trooper and this is just going to make it better. The total plan takes care of my swing arm issue. If I replace with coil overs in the front, someday, then I will have two back up shocks & spring setups for the rear.

As a side note the Toyhauler's suspension is going to require a rebuild again. We did one at 30,000 miles on the original factory parts and replaced with better parts. The better parts lasted just over 70,000 miles. So this also has to come out of the pot of gold. There is also damage to one of the spring hangers but I will arc weld and re-drill. So Rick I am working on the trailer and will keep you updated for the Lake Havasu trip. Should still make it as long as the weather stays good as the trailer is outside. I should have tore is down in the trailer garage but I did not have a plug for the welder.

Hope we can get together Rocmoc,I am also working on getting coverage so I can get away at least for the weekend. What time do you think you would be there that Friday? Depending when you plan on getting there I might try for Friday or that Monday off as well.Would be nice if others could make it as well.

  7. My gasket was messed up so I got some gasket material from my local auto parts dealer and made my own. Easy to do, just lay the manifold over it and trace it out. Then cut it out and spring clamp it back in place and use a ball peen hammer to carefully tap out the inside holes by tapping around the hole edge and shearing the gasket. Easy to get a great fit. Life is a whole lot easier with the manifold flipped. You can get at the throttle body and all it's atachment parts which are all but impossible to get at stock.

    Lenny

Other then easier to get to everything is there any other advantage?

  8. Went to local Pep Boys today for a few things and as I went through the front door right in front of me is a whole new area for nothing but high performance, off road and custom accessories.Loads of shocks, mufflers, tires, lift kits, clutches, and lots more.It really was impressive.I spoke to the sales rep in charge of that section and he said they installed it in the last month and its only the second in California at this time. They plan on six more within the next year.Dont know what other states they have them in.It reminded me of some years ago all the performane shops around you couldd go to.Dont have them around my area anymore.

  9. I got enclosure on, & lexan windshield,, need to go somewhere!! Also waiting on ball joints, mine should be ok, I hope for awhile. Just cold & windy here, no snow yet..

Have some new foldable mirrors coming, need longer arms on them because of enclosure, found some in jc whitney for jeep.

does your enclosure have the canvas sides and come from joyner? I purchased a kit for my T-4 from a guy that bought some at the joyner auction and it had the windsheild, hard top, rear widow and canvas sides but came with no directions on how to hang the top of the sides. Not sure if I will use them anyway but would be nice to know.

  10. I run 8 pounds in the front and 10 in the back. My tires are General Grabber AT2 27x8.50 R14 95Q 6PR OWL http://ssl.delti.com.../GRABBERAT2.jpg

The side walls bulge just a little and I don't change them for sand or rocks, I think they're great! A lot softer than when I was running them at 30, hard as a rock, remember, we don't weigh very much. Check parts and pieces if you want to know what we weigh.

    Kinarfi

right now(in the garage) I have the front at about 12 and rear at 15.I dont plan on any sand at this point but if that happens will adjust.I am really looking forard to see what difference they make. Thanks guys,If I get stuck I will give you a call(LOL).

  11. WOW, what a difference! First let me say I will have pics up soon, maybe tonight.

    Wheels are the 15" Visionwheel.

Tire is Dunlop Radial Mud Rover, 31X10.50R15LT.

They fit, I do need to make a small adjustment to the rear of the Front suspension to get full lock to lock turning. At present I have 3/4+ but there is plenty of adjustment in the supension to get full lock to lock. Everything else clears easily.

Ground Clearance is now a full 13 1/2".

Gearing, First gear is now more like a 50's pickup granny gear instead of the factory tractor first gear. First gear is usable! Plenty of low range remaining, but all gears are much more usable. I now cruise thu the neigborhood in 4th instead of 5th. I will have my better 3/4 follow me with the car to check speedo and top-end. My guess top-end is easily 70mph.

Flotation on sand. I went down the wash behind the house where I would normally flip into 4Wd. Never came close to needing 4WD, stayed in 2WD the entire time. I was running the full 30psi put in the tires at the tire shop. I have since aired down to 20 in the front and 24 in the rear so performance should even be better.

Standing Start performance appears to be as good as before or better. You can now use 1st or 2nd to take off from a complete stop.

Needless to say, I could not be more pleased. The setup has met every one of my wishes & expectations.

Now that i have the 30" x 15's on mine just wondering what was the final pressure you found to work,I will be taking mine out this weekend for the first time with thes tires and wheels and would like to know a good starting point for the pressure.

    Thanks,

  12. WOW, thanks Rick! Looks great for pulling the Toyhauler in and plenty of places to camp. I like the fact there are a few other RVs around. Works for us, how about you? Hopefully you will be able to take the weekend off. Anyone else?

    rocmoc n AZ/CA

Yea you should not have any problems with the toyhauler. The road went back further and I am sure their were more camping back there. This was taken around 8:30 in the morning and I had been driving since 4am on only a few hours sleep so I was in a hurry to get to our place in Havasu to get some work done that morning. Its looking good for that weekend you will be there, still trying to make arraingements for an xtra day or two off.
