  1. But the powerline pics are north of the open area by quite a ways. You may have been in the Limited OHV Area, but that means you are restricted to maintained roads and designated trails, of which there are none right now, the trails in the limited area are all shut down until further notice by the BLM.

We are trying to get the BLM to put in the 38 mile UTV loop that had been planned for several years and also to reopen the trails that they recently shut down pending review.

Undisclosed location in Arizona.. not NM

  2. Glad you had yours. The photos from under the powerlines is way north of the open area and illegal for off-road travel. The video in the sandwash was also north of the open area. I guess the rally in the glade was somewhat an informal one though, which was good since no permits for an organized rally were issued (the issuing officer was at the dunes all day and wasn't aware of a rally going on).

Contact Kyle at Rally On The Rocks and see if he can accomodate you all next year at his rally in Moab. He puts on a great rally that has lots of events, good trailrides and lots of vendors.

There was no rally at the glades.. you must have us mistaken for some other group? we were just a few friends getting together for a weekend trail ride and bullshit session :) anyhow Looks can be decieving? I am pretty sure the powerline pictures were taken at a area in Arizona beforehand and were lumped on my camera.. as far as all videos go they were all taken within 200 yards of our camp, and well within our right to ride on, I am not here to argue about whats right or wrong, it happened and if we broke any rules then contact me and let me know what damages there were incured, but as far as I am concerned there were no rules broken and nobody to be there to say yes or no that they were

  3. I hate to tell you guys, but judging from the photos you posted, you all were riding in a limited use area, not legal for off-road travel. Right now, were are engaged in a fight to keep our riding areas in the Glade open. Someone from the group should've obtained a map from the BLM or from online to see what areas are open to riding off-road. That access route under the powerlines is not allowed for travel. There were carsonite posts installed surrounding the Open OHV area, advising that riding out of those boundries was limited to maintained roadway travel only.

Not trying to spoil the party, I for one want to see our trails opened back up, but if anyone saw you up in the limited use area, I'm sure the BLM's phones are ringing off the hooks this morning. Also, the BLM requires permits to camp in the Glade Run Rec Area. The BLM Rangers were all over at The Dunes for the OHV Open House that was being there, so that kept you from encountering them. But you definitely don't want to get caught riding off-road in a limited use area.

I would hate to see this excursion be used as an additional reason to shut down all of the Glade to all OHVers. Did the Farmington contacts check all this out and advise everyone before the invite?

The Farmington are is home to many world class off-roading areas, the Choke Cherry Glade area was even televised on Extreme 4X4 TV this past weekend on Spike and we even host the WEROC National Rock Crawling Championships, but there are limited use areas that are in contention right now with battles going on between mtn-bikers, ranchers, OHVers and Jeepers. It would be good to find all pertinent info on an area before using. Anyone that wants to come to this area for riding, I would be happy to get them all the needed info for OHV use and might even be available to show them around and get them to some of the more fun trails.

Below is the link to the BLM Use Map for the Glade Run Rec Area and a link to the BLM site for the Glade. Please, do post positive comments to the BLM about keeping the riding areas open and that fact that many of you traveled from out of state to visit the Glade. Help us keep this area open for future OHV use by voicing positive comments.

We all had our camping permit, I know I for one picked mine up personally friday at the office out there, As far as the off limits places I had a map but the map they gave me at the office was kinda shitty and hard to make heads or tails of, Our guide on the tour was someone there from farmington, and I am sure he knows what and where to ride, if not then it happens.. No excuses though I know I for one will never head back out to Farmington, a big haul from me from Texas, I would like to see it somewhere else next year, or group it in with an organized event of some sort, maybe Moab utv rally..

  4. I am oldish! I am a sleep by 9pm and I'm not kidding. I will listen to the stories in the morning.

Oh come now, you can break the rules once or twice right? :)

On a side note, I talked to a Nicole at the plce that does the ohv permits today and got mine, said her and her husband are going to try to make it out

  5. Silverbullet.

    We have 1 in stock call 928 344 2117.

I have a question for you Trooper owners. Any of you that have replaced shocks I would like to know what products you purchased what the pros. & cons are. How much did you pay total? Did you have to modify anything? Was it an easy install or, a pain in the butt? And what was the lenght did you choose and what was the travel of the shocks. Was a small resiovor needed?

We are in the process of creating a custom built shock for the Troopers Complete bolt on no modifacations needed.

We are looking to put out a reasonably priced product giving you a nice ride and good handling together. We have teamed up with AFCO shocks. Also T2-T4

    Please reply asap,

    Thanks

Rick, I have used a couple sets of King shocks on the trooper, no mods needed, just had to pick up a few new bolts, They work awesome

  6. Have Trooper ready. didn't get a few things done like the fabric top made but did a temperary one to keep the sun out. New tie rod ball joints got rid of steering slop. Fixed a rear axel problem. Built a fire wall behind the seat. Don't know if I'll have time to to make a sound cover for my intake filter. Super charger noise comes right up through the intake piping and intake is behind and above the drivers seat. Kindy of noisy but I can live with that for now if I have to. Didn't get time to change out the compouter to one that I can set up myself but Trooper is running OK except for an occasional cutout but not a real problem. Doesn't look like a Trooper anymore. Got a feeling that these trails are going to try and brake our machines. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Should be there Friday evening. Trooper Jamboreeeeee #2

Anybody plan on any night time runs?

  7. Are you going to post some pics when you get it back from being wraped? anxious to see it.

You bet I am I can't wait for tomorrow, not sure what time it will be though.. I need to call them and ask that question.. Still unsure it will fit in my enclosed trailer, may have to haul it on the flat-bed

  8. Spoke to Daven, the Farmington Joyner Dealer, yesterday and he is meeting us at the begining of Glade Road Friday. We will mark the route to the camp with the ORANGE flagging. Currently in Corrales, NM. and will move on to Chama, NM. Wednesday. Leave for Farmington Friday morning which is only a couple hours drive at that point. It has been HOT here but the weekend forecast is looking GREAT!

Just got a call from the guy out there, My campin permit is in thier office waiting on me to pick it up, so I am all set just need my orv permit and good as gold

  9. Nice job Jarred. Did you put the Renegade diff gears in it? Looking forward to Farmington.

    Lenny

I have not yet.. took it to wrap this morning, depends on how long they take, will be deciding factor on the gear set, I had the choice between a little better crawl ratio or looking good.. looking good took the better part of my judgement for right now

  10. Looks real good. What did you use to mount the stereo ? was that a joyner item?

    Thanks,

No it is something I whipped up quite awhile ago.. has been on 3 buggies, there are also rear speakers and a box but without the rear tire rack to mount them to I did not install

  11. I have the same aluminum top. I used diamond plate and turned the diamonds inside with the smooth side out like yours. I used a piece of aluminum flat and laid the lights down like a sun visor. I can remove two bolts and stand the lights up if I wish to use them. Have not be stood up in two years. MORE, MORE!

The rock sliders are being built right now, I pick the wheels up first thing in the morning, need to install the stereo and build the spare tire mount next, put my new G-force seatbelts in and a few minor details then hopefully tomorrow afternoon I can get it to the wrap shop

  13. they are on theyre own circuit arent they there is separet fuses for each idk im just confused lol

They use the same power supply.. use a relay and a inline fuse for the fan and have the old fan power wire trigger the relay.. it maybe that the power supply going into the fuse box has a high resistance in it, I would check it with a volt meter and see how much voltage is at the pump with and without the fan fuse in

  14. As suggested, I put a voltmeter on my starter solenoid, interesting, with my meter on battery term and ground, when it cranked over, I got 9.8 - 10 volts. When it didn't crank, the voltage was 8.5, can't explain that yet. Then I jumpered from battery to solenoid and it never failed to crank and the voltage was 10.5.

Guess I'll either put relay or something back there close to the solenoid and starter.

    Kinarfi

I do that alot.. call it hot shotting the starter.. use the original wire to trip the 30amp automotive relay and use a 10 guage wire from batter to relay then to starter.. less voltage drop and will start everytime

On a side note.. relaying the fan with a 10 guage and using the original fan wire to trip the relay cures the melted fuse syndrom they suffer

As far as explaining it K the voltage has a long way to go through a small guage wire, think from battery to front then back again.. there is a lot of resistance there and will cause the voltage drop.. Thats why we use a AC voltage in our houses<thanks Tesla> not a DC like Edison tryied.. because a DC voltage tends to drop voltage the further it travels

  15. Tomorrow we get down to the nitty gritty, we were running short on the 1.5" .080 wall DOM tubing, have 100 feet being delivered in the morning, we start on the tube doors in the morning that will swing open.. this is going to be something unlike you guys have seen before.. we also still have to build the new spare tire holder and add the rock sliders.. The passenger grab handle is almost finished and I finally found the face for my stereo set up.. we are cruising along nicely..

The buggy will get wrapped first of next week and we expect the wheels to be back this friday so I can get it back in rolling condition so much work and hardly enough time to do it all.. will be pushing the deadline pretty close with the wrap job suppossed to tgake a few days
