  1. Thanks Tejun. Did yours come with an in-line installed new, or was it like mine, no in line filter? Why did you replace the entire line? thanks again
  2. Thanks T Boss 410. When I called Coleman, they put a tech rep on the line. He didn’t really have any answers for me. I asked him about pressure and flow direction. First he said the filter would have a check valve in it (it doesn’t on the one they sent me) . Then I asked about the pressure, and he thought the filter should need to take 55lbs. I thought injected engines, need the pump pump pressure, flow rate of filter and injector matched, for proper functioning….
  3. Hi glad to find some other Coleman 550 owners. Hope you can give me some advice. What are you using for the inline fuel filter? Mine didn’t come with one installed when I bought it new. Coleman sent me a black painted metal filter and two clamps, there’s no flow indicator marked on it, just a sideways paint pen marking. Travis on another thread suggested using a Wix 33972 filter. Have you used that filter? Did your machine come with the filter installed? Here’s the photos I posted on the other thread. Thanks to .Travis for suggestions the Wix filter might work well. I’m unsure about using a filter that isn’t clearly marked for direction of flow. I agree about changing oil every 50 hours. I called Coleman and asked them about the flow direction…. They had no idea. thanks
  4. Thanks Travis. Here’s a photo of what they sent me. It’s a painted steel canister in-line filter. No directional indicator. There is a paint pen check mark looking symbol, but it’s pointing to a direction perpendicular to the fuel flow. The manual is poorly written and certainly covers obsolete and different models all jumbled into one. Many contradictions in it too. So far it’s runs fine, and I’m happy with it. I don’t work it too hard, nor belly it in mud pits. Just over 50 hours on it. thanks for your help.
  5. Hi Need advice on a fuel filter. This is a 2019 Coleman 550 Outfitter. Manual said to change fuel filter. Mine was assembled without a inline filter between the in tank fuel pump and the injector. I called Coleman, they told it was supposed to have a fuel filter. They sent me a metal inline filter and two clamps. The fuel line has what looks like an aluminum outer cover. I’m assuming the fuel line is a rubber one. Before cutting the line I looked at the metal fuel filter to see the direction of flow. Nothing marked on the filter. I called Coleman.…. They couldn’t help me, even after speaking to a Tech rep. It’s fuel injected, so I don’t want to screw this up. Does anyone have any ideas? Should I throw this filter away, and buy something else? I have replaced plenty of fuel filters on lawn mowers etc, but all were clear plastic, with directional arrows. Since this fuel injected, I’m thinking I must ypuse the special clamps, that require special pliers to tighten, and I might need a pressure capable filter? thanks
  6. Thanks Craig. Sure takes some of the sting out of the cost, when spread over 4 years at 0%. Is yours a hydrostatic diesel?
  7. Thanks Craig. I think if I traded here I’d get beaten bad too. So far my machine has been good, but I keep hearing the horror stories.
  8. Thanks Craig. Was yours a 2019 model? Did you do ok on trade value? thanks ,
  9. Owners manual says 1.89 quarts with new filter, Service manual say 2.22 quarts with new filter. It’s a dilemma... not enough oil, May damage clutch and motor, too much oil could cause problems as well. mscraigchr: did your drain plug have a spring and metal screen inside (under the drain plug bolt? thanks
  10. Thank you. I think the Coleman 550 Outfitters have Hisun engines
  11. I think I see a fuel canister mounted on the frame rail. Maybe the T-Boss and Outfitter aren’t the same machine?
  12. Thank you so much. I think this is the same machine as the Coleman Outfitter 550. Does yours have an inline fuel filter? Some of the Outfitters don’t, and there’s not a easy access place to cut the fuel line and add one. When did they switch to Linhai engines?
  13. On the Coleman 550 outfitter, similar or same thing. Easy fix. Hold gear shift lever in low position until you start moving, then it’s fine. Annoying, and shouldn’t be like that, but they are what they are. Make sure you are using correct oil, I’m assuming 400 also has a wet clutch. I could be wrong
  14. I was deeply disappointed in the prices for exhaust parts. Rural King is selling a similar 550, maybe they can help?
  15. Will this parts link for the Coleman ( made by Hisun) 550 help? http://3546502.shop.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.3546502/n.1/sc.27/category.137049/it.C/.f
  16. That’s great news Hisunsadman. What is a wot kill reset, and how is it done? Thank you
  17. Thanks Jerry. I thought the Coleman 550, was made by HiSun, and the TS 301 would work?
