  1. Hopefully this helps somebody because I couldn't find any info on this runaway condition. Drove 1/2 mile to the gas station and when I started up to leave the starter stuck on. Turn key off starter is still running~! Limp it home wondering what the heck to do, get it in the garage and pull the negative battery terminal to get it to stop. Whew, WTF? Calm down and start checking things, starter is hot of course but nothing is smoking and nothing smells burnt. Pull battery cover off and start checking wires from battery to relay and relay to the starter. OK good nothing is hot, nothing is crispy and nothing is melted. Probably smoked the starter though. If this had happened to my wife and I wasn't around the machine would have run until the battery died and probably melted down/burned. I'll get to the point to save you folks some time and trouble. Because this is a kymco machine you need 2 different Kawasaki parts to make this repair, and information is scarce to say the least. The switch and a sub harness to connect it to the machine's plug. Everything works now, but the starter sounds horrible so I'll be changing that too before spring. Good luck out there and hopefully this is just a freak occurrence, but if I were you I'd get rid of this kymco part and put the Kawasaki replacement in now. Switch, Magnetic is part number 27010-0767 Sub Harness Start Relay is part number 26031-Y034
  2. You want the first oil changed right away, that's why the manual says 50 hours. When an engine is new and it gets heated up for the first time any assembly greases, sealants, casting material and gasket fragments on the new engine parts will come off and get carried away in the oil. Also there will be metal shavings as the new parts wear in together. I do a first oil and filter change on any new car, truck or motorcycle after driving it around for one day, so always 100 miles or less. I got a new 2022 KLR 650 last September and I rode it for one nice afternoon and changed the oil and filter as soon as I got it home. I have 468 miles on it now and it will go in for it's first service at 600 miles.
  3. According to the owners manual next one for my Pro MX is @ 1200 miles and I can do it myself, it's mainly fluid checks and changes. I will do the oil and filter myself once a season. I got a new belt and I'll change that @ 1200 also, mainly so I know how to do it and then I'll keep the used belt as a spare.
  4. I got the Super ATV flip up windshield for my '22 Pro MX and so far I really like it. Best thing is you can ride with it closed, cracked at the bottom for some air flow or even all the way open if you want.
  5. It is very high in my opinion and I was pretty mad when I was quoted roughly the same price. Here I just shelled out big bucks for a Mule with 2k of that being shipping and tax and now I'm hit with a massive first service charge. Mine turned out being under $400 because they didn't have to adjust the valves. On a good note they did check and document every system and change every fluid on the machine, so I was impressed with what was done. They gave me a 3 page completed checklist to put with my warranty paperwork. It runs and idles better and the drivetrain is quieter since it was in. But it does seem like the costs never end on these things...........
  6. That is an excellent website, thank you! The places I know carry REC 90 are all on there.
  7. Great topic, where I live in northern Michigan we have REC 90 fuel available and it's a game changer for small engines. Being able to run non ethanol fuel is like the good old days when your small engines might sputter a little after sitting for months but they would still run. Ethanol fuel is horrible stuff if it sits for a while.
  8. Hi folks I'm glad one of your mules came in, from what I have seen a basic mule is pretty hard to get! I watched several dealer websites daily over a 150 mile radius for many weeks just waiting for one of them to get in a green or camo Pro MX EPS. Finally one showed up at a dealer around 90 miles away and I snagged it, Picked it up Oct 15 and we couldn't be happier with it. My 2022 KLR 650 was a long wait too but I got the one I wanted in late september. If you want one expand your search and be ready to be on the phone with your CC to hold it. Good luck, and if they are hard to find this year just wait until next year. Prices will be through the roof and inventory will be even lower,
