Anyone going out for the long weekend? Where?

With the nice weather we are expecting 70-80 this weekend we will be going out to Glamis for the first time.Never been out that way so hope its all its cracked up to be.

Never been there either but looking on google earth, it looks about 15 miles wide and 40 miles long. If that's what it is, it's huge. better bring a GPS. I'll bet you could get real lost in that big of a sand dune area.

Use to be GREAT! I started going in the early 70's with my dune buggys. Now too many people. Be careful, people run into each other out there & get big time hurt.

rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Yea I have heard that also.We are actually going a little north of that at a campground that has access to the trails.Supposed to be hundreds of miles of em and one is supposed to go all the way to the colorado river.Just going to go on the trails and head down to the dunes for a half day ride to check it out.Like you said too many people.

Well got here friday night and it took 2 hours longer than expected due to traffic of course(california madness).Went out yesterday 95 mile trip and saw many great sites and have taken some good videos as well as pics. Leftearly this morning and another long ride but only 60 miles.Plan on coming back cause we still did not make it down to to the dunes.Hope all of you had a great weekend.

      Folks:

I live on 11 acres that demands a bit of maintenance, and co-own a large farm a couple of hours away that I hunt on (professionals do the farming).   My mowing/brush control/trail maintenance duties are handled by a 57" rough cut mower (Kunz brand), and I also drag logs and pull sprayers and seeders for food plots and such.
I've been using a  pair of ATV's for decades to handle this work - a 750 for when I need real power (or need both machines at the same time when I have help) and a 500 cc with fixed rear axle for most duties.

Some of the places I need to work are VERY rough, and very three-dimensional, with steep ups and downs and some side-hilling I've learned the hard way not to try with my independent rear suspension 750, but handle with ease with my fixed rear suspension 500.

I've decided I want to sell the 750 and replace it with a UTV that I hope to use as my main workhorse.  If anyone makes a working UTV that fits my specs that's what I'm gonna do.  This is an all-work machine, I don't do any recreational riding so don't care about things like top speed.

So looking for advice on what models might handle what I'm looking for:

      Gotta have:
      2 passenger (1 row)
      selectable 4wd
      Power steering
      Selectable gearing (not CVT)
      Power-assisted dump bed
Engine cooling adequate for all-day slow-speed work in the summertime.  Like towing a 700lb mower at 4mph all day in 100° weather)
Beefy tow rating, including tonque weight.  Nobody ever mentions tongue weight because that exposes how crappy independent rear suspension is for towing safely in rough terrain.

      Really want:
      Selectable locking diff
Fixed rear axle (Isolates tongue weight from rear suspension.  Holds more stable & consistent center of gravity than IRS over side-slopes and other complex terrain, and keeps geometry and suspension response consistent over wide range of tongue-weight of towed loads)
Slow speed cruise control (Factory option or aftermarket, covering at least 4mph - 10mph. For calibrated spraying and controlled mowing speed.
Muffler designed for quiet operation for comfortable all-day use, and to minimize disturbance for getting to hunting grounds.  Not concerned about normal motor noise, but don't want something specifically piped to "sound fun".

Any advice on brands or models I'm most likely to have luck with?

Going down a 20 deg hill engine is holding UTV back. Then something releases like going into Neutral and makes a loud clacking noise. Have to use brake to slow UTV down. Then once level it shifts back into gear. Have done shift extension does not pop out of gear.

Looking for tips on the engine oil change .  First oil change is coming up in a month. Any tips from Buck 450 owners?

I have a 2023 4010 Mule TRANS that I've now had a year and just hit 50hrs.  I did my first service including oil change, trans & differential oil change.  I'd like to adjust my linkage (I suppose) as when I shift into gear, I get a good grab and clunk at least. It was grinding at one point and I tinkered with the linkage adjustments enough that its finally not grinding. Still, sometimes I worry that it's clunking too hard when I go into gear.

Looked on youtube and can't find any vids or advice there on the adjustment procedure. I'm STILL trying to find somewhere that has the service manual available. Even the company site is telling me that they hope to have them in stock by Christmas!

These are the two places I was trying to adjust. Are these even the correct ones? Does anyone know the difference in the two?
