Good Price for Used Renegade?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking to get a UTV to help out around on some land I recently bought and the Renegade looks to be like what I would need.

I don't want to buy a UTV new as the used market is brutal for the most part on all brands. I was looking at Rangers and Rhinos, but I really like the manual transmission and mechanical lockers of the Joyners. I've read most of the interesting topics on the forum and I'm aware of the differential issues and the tenuous situation Joyner USA is in.

With that said, someone has a 2009 (late model with mechanical 4x4) for sale in town with only 100 miles on it. He'll take $8,000. He bought it from No Limit and picked it up in Dallas (I'm in Houston). It's pretty much in "as-new" condition. The gentleman selling it is a police officer that bought it to cruse off-duty security gigs, but he's lost both the security gig and his cop job.

So is that a reasonable price or am I just setting my self up to loose over half if I need to sell in a year for what ever reason?

Thanks for the link.

I'm thinking you're probably right. It's in great shape, but with the differential worry and the fear of Joyner never really making it back to the US scene, I'm not sure I can get there. It's too bad really as the Joyner design philosophy is better than that of the "big boys".

Magnus444, You can go here it will tell you retail value and trade-in value it sounds a little high to me. http://www.kbb.com/motorcycle/

I have Renegade and like it a lot.The 09 is a good year to buy.Renegade is a good utv.Vary few problums with them i have been a Joyner dealer for 7 years i would pull of hose off intake by the throttle body and get a flash light and see if it has any dirt in it.Thear air filter was junk and did not seal at all.If ok then its a little high priced but if nice like new than should be ok to buy.Change air filter as soon as possible move it up to the roof out of dirt.

Good Luck

Rick

Hey guys! Newbie here. I'm an old man who's better with plowing a mule (4-legged kind) than these newfangled beasts. I, and a friend of mine, just bought new Coleman sxs and are having to finish the assembly. I've been reading on this site and I'm falling on the mercy of you experts. The only way I'm an expert is that an "ex" is a has been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure. LOL First off, the 2 buggies have no ignition switches. They seem to mount on the dash, not the opening in the steering wheel shaft cover, so we ordered new ones that are supposed to fit. They are 8 inches long, and have a 4-wired white plugin which is slightly rectangled when looking at the end of the plug. The trouble is there's nothing to plug into. There is a three-wire grey plug close enough to reach the four-wire plug, but of course, they are not compatible.
Secondly, the blinker, light, ect. unit on steering wheel just spins around when touched. I see no way in heaven or earth to secure it. I've looked at a diagram on the Powersports site, but can't detect how it mounted. Fellows I'd be so grateful for any help with this. Me and my mule will even plow your garden for free, for your help. LOL

      Hello friends,
I got my ODES Ravager UTV yesterday and after a couple of hours of driving when I go downhill I heard a strange loud noise a couple of times, like a gear skipping or maybe something from the differential.
It doesn't always happen and when it does it is heard for a few seconds and then it goes away and everything works normally, I'm worried if there could be some major malfunction or what could be the problem if someone can help me?
      Thanks a lot.

I have a Bennche 700 EFI Bighorn. I’ve recently been unable to get it to start. After a little troubleshooting I realized my fuel pump was not pumping fuel. This weekend I emptied the gas and replaced it with new. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel injector. I also replaced the battery, spark plug and made sure all my fuses and relays were good. I have confirmed that the float on the fuel pump is not obstructed. The UTV is about 12 years old and has less than 100 hours on it. It has not run in over a year.  Not sure whats going on?!? After doing a little reading I'm leaning towards it being an issue with the ECU or perhaps a faulty wire in the wiring harness. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking or what I could be dealing with? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

I purchased a new 2023 Landmaster UTV L4 in October of 2023.  UTV didn't seem to have as much power of the demo L4 that I drove but figured once it broke in it would be better.  After about a week the unit started bogging down backfiring and stopping.  Gas fumes really bad, wait a few minutes and it would start up again.  Brought it back to the dealer and after keeping it for a few weeks said he couldn't find anything wrong with it.  Got it back home and it started acting up again, brought it back to dealer a week later and he said he found couple things that might cause it to do run bad and he was able to replicate the issue but didn't really know what was wrong.  Got it back home again after being at dealer for several weeks and the unit started running bad again right away.  Brought it back to dealer and he went back and forth with Kohler about possible fixes but just checked somethings and try to swap a few parts but still runs bad.  I called Landmaster HQ to speak with someone about a refund and was told that was handled at the dealer level.  Dealer called Landmaster and they told him they didn't do refunds or exchanges especially with units that had problems.  The dealer is now trying to get a new engine to but I have not heard anything as of yet.  I did file complaint with Better Business Bureau and they accepted my claim and reached out to Landmaster.  The National Service Manager called me and said the he had been contacted by the BBB about the complaint and he would look into it.  I told him that I would just like to have my down payment of $2,000.00 returned and never mind the over $1,000.00 I have paid in notes for a UTV that I cannot even ride on without hoping it gets me around the neighborhood.  I have found out that the 2024 Landmaster UTVs will have Vanguard engines due to issues with the Kohler engines.  Very disappointed in what is "Proudly Made in the USA" and the way Landmaster has treated this disabled veteran!
