I am looking for a gps system for my 2016 Polaris 1000 Turbo 4 and hoping for some help. I don't know much about gps systems so I'm at a loss on where to start.

We ride in Michigan's upper peninsula which has endless unmarked or poorly marked trails. I would like to be able to track my ride and use it to reference the general direction to get back.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a product that would do what I need. Phone service is very poor and I would prefer a seperate gps unit.

I have looked into Trail Tech gps but they don't make a model for the Polaris rzr. They do have a generic one but wondering if anyone has used it. http://www.trailtech.net/digital-gauges/voyager-moto-gps/912-705

Thanks for your help! Krista

I have used a GPS for years and found the Lowrance Baja Trophy 5 to be top of the line. This unit can do more than you will ever need for off road use. The price is $399.00 .This unit has a 5 1/2 inch screen and easy to see over the bumps at most any speed. Drago.....

Glad to see this post as I am looking for the same thing. We went up to the UP in june of this year and trails are great but not well marked. We were limited to where we could ride because of that.  So if anyone has any added info or any updates as to which gps system is simple and easy to use please chime in here....

I have a Garmin Nuvi 65.  Garmin's Base Camp software is free.  I don't know what versions of Garmin GPS can use Base Camp.  But Base Camp allows me to plot a track and turn it into a route.  The track doesn't even have to follow anything but I use it plot a track in dried river bottoms and turn them into a route.  I can then download it to my GPS and follow it.  The problem I had with Base Camp (and still do) is the steep learning curve.  I had a mental block trying to determine the differences between a track and a route as used in Base Camp.  Once I got used to it, it seems to be very flexible.  But I can't compare it to other GPS systems.  The violet line across the middle of the image follows a dried river bottom.  I had to create the track with data points, then convert it to a route that I can download it to my GPS and follow it when I go out 4-wheeling.  Easy to do once you get over the learning curve.  I'm not sure if other GPS systems will allow you to create a non-existent track or route and add it to the GPS database.

Riding out today it acted like it ran out of gas,  stalled and died and would not start.   Towed back to house,  New  plug added this past month,  plenty of oil, getting plenty of gas, battery cranks good.   Trys to kick in and starts but doesnt.   Two days prior while sitting at a idle it died.  Added gas and it started did my ranch chores with it.  But just now it stalled out cranks but will not start.   Tried to find if fault codes came up on the clock like manual says but not sure I am doing that right.  Any and all help apprecated.  Thank you

I have been doing a little research on which engine oil is best for UTV engines.  There seems to be some disagreement over using a good quality regular engine oil, and the necessity of using "M2" (or wet clutch suitable) oil.  My understanding is the "wet clutch" suitable oil has less friction reduction properties (hence a more responsive clutch with less slippage).  While less friction reduction properties would seem to be better for the wet clutch... it would not be best for the internal engine parts like camshaft bearings and other moving parts where friction is detrimental and would lead to premature failure.  Some folks swear you need M2 oil, while others say they have been using regular motor oil for years and their clutch is just fine.  Could they both be right ???
      Any thoughts ?

I just bought a new 2024 Hison 550 Stryker 2 months ago. this is the second time I have had this issue.  It only has about 20 hours on it. The last time it happened we took it back to the dealer. it was a fuse.  Since we live three-hour time driving there and back. I would like to find another solution if possible.  I have tried all the fuses that seem to have anything to do with starting.  Currently checking the battery. The battery is new. it came with the unit. It is probably 6 months old.  the UTV has all power to everything electrical. lights turn signals and radio all work.  When trying the key to start . it is 100% dead. as in it doesn't even click.  There is a low whirring like the fuel pump is turning on though. The Unit was running and driving just fine.  we shut it down for the night. The next morning my wife found it in this condition.  Thanks for any Ideas or solutions???   Otherwise, it goes back to the dealer tomorrow. Just hope I didn't buy a lemon. Great little UTV when it does run.😅  anyone else ever have this Issue..?

Recently bought a 2010 RTV 1100 with bad engine. a d1105T out of a toro 5400 just came available locally. Looking for info on if anybody has installed the turbo version of this engine, what challenges/ problems were encountered, how it turned out.

Looks like nobody has any insight. I will complete installation and report back as to how it went, how it works, and what's involved.
