2015 Massimo 1000 dying and not starting

Recommended Posts

It will run great for a day or so, then it will randomly die, sometimes starting right back up, sometimes not.  Other times it just won't start at all for a couple days then fire right up the next time.  I have drained the gas, refilled with fresh gas, changed the spark plugs, and replaced the entire air filter.  Besides buying a new fuel pump to try, is there anything else someone can suggest.

Hard to troubleshoot from a distance.  It could be the fuel pump on its way to the graveyard.  I had a similar problem with my car.  Can't rule out an electrical problem (broken wire, faulty ground or loose/dirty connector) that controls the fuel pump, fuel injectors or the ignition system.  You'll be looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack.  Good luck.  Before replacing the fuel pump, try installing a fuel pressure gauge to see if you have sufficient fuel pressure when the problem occurs.  Or you can connect a hose to the outlet and route to a bucket to see if you're even getting fuel when the problem occurs.  If you're not getting fuel, find out why (faulty fuel pump or not getting 12v to run the pump).  Randomly replacing parts to fix a problem can get frustrating and expensive.

To check out the fuel pump, it should prime for about 3 seconds after start up, you should hear it. I would check for a pinched fuel tank vent hose, as this could cause a huge pressure lock inside the tank. Next I would suspect it might be electrical in nature. I doubt any fuel injector problem as that is pretty rare. Some of the things that cause this issue would be a faulty coil, or bad pick up coil sensor. It takes fuel, spark and compression to fire an engine.  Normally a stalling issue or no start, to me it sounds like electrical, but check the fuel pump first. You can open up the fuel cap and when you put the UTV ignition switch on and not start, you should hear the fuel pump whine for a few seconds then shut off. If you dont hear the wine, I would think the pump is bad. If you hear the wine everytime, then chase the electrical system.

We just bought a used 2017 American Landmaster TW450. No hour meter that I can find, so not sure exactly how much it has been used.
The first 2 days we had it, the starter was a little sketchy, but it started after 2-3 tries. Sometimes when turning the key, we would hear a loud metal "clink" sound. Like the starter made contact, but didn't have enough power to turn.
THIS MORNING... Turning the key, we hear a single click sound. That's it. Even with a new battery, the starter is still doing the same thing. Both batteries (old and new) were reading 12.8 volts on volt meter. So I'm wondering what else could be going on? Any ideas on what to look for would be greatly appreciated...
      Thank you!

I just purchased an Axis Pro 750 from Lowes.  I have two questions not covered in owners manual.  1:  In the glovebox there is a 12V connector, it is HOT with key off, is that for a battery maintainer to be plugged in or what is the purpose?  2:  In the instrument cluster there is a digital read out for hours, miles and odometer,  there is also a digital readout that is flashing, it can be adjusted and looks like 1 - 24  what is it?

I have a part that fell over to the exhaust and burned the harness up. I can't figure out what it is. Does anyone know what the start relay looks like? The part I can't figure out has 4 wires, a red power, a green and brown wire, a black and unsure what the 4th color was. Anyone have a clue?

I would really like to know what you guys think about this. I'll try not to ramble and make it as clear as I can.

I took this new job with companyX as a fiber splicer a year ago. I have a 45' bucket truck and 10or12 x 8 ft enclosed splice trailer I have to take home. Within the last 6 months all the management in the splice dept left. Now the power/construction management and higher ups are filling in. Just recently we were told travel to our 1st job is not payable even though we are in a company vehicle.
We are union so I asked the union business manager about this. His reply was be grateful you were paid travel as long as you were and that you don't have to drive your POV to the job.

Last week I had 50hr total. The job area is 4-4.5 hrs away. My time was reduced to 44.5 hrs since we were told this travel thing on Tuesday of that week. I wasn't hired for this area. I was hired for area a lot closer to home.

Pay is good. Work is not hard. Insurance is through the union and so far pretty good.
But I hate the thought of having to work extra just to make a 40hr paycheck. Anyone who has to drive as part of their job knows windshield time is not easy.

Anyway what do you guys think. Should I look for a different job or just suck it up because of the decent pay and health insurance.

Just got this kymco 450i Uxv from a guy, drove it around before I paid. Got home drove around town a little while the next day and it started squealing and amd didn’t want to go. Got to looking at the clutch, that’s were the noise is coming from, the primarily sounds like. Maybe a bearing in there cause the grinding noise and it only makes the noise when you go to move.
