I have had my 800sx at the shop 3 times in one year. The first two it would not run their diagnosis was water in the fuel. The third time the unit stalled and a code of low oil pressure popped up. I checked the oil it was full. I brought it in for service again. They said there is water in the fuel again! They also said water in the fuel would cause the oil pressure sensor to malfunction. ( they must think I am a idiot! ) I have three other 4 wheelers of different years and I have never once had a issue with water in the fuel. I told them to figure out how water is getting in there. Its still under warranty. I am at a loss. Its 1 hour for me to bring the unit up there. I am regretting purchasing this unit! Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Have you personally tested for water in the fuel? to be sure the shop isn't BS'ing with you?

all you need is a clear container, siphon some fuel out of the tank into the container and let it sit about 10 minutes.... you will see a line form  (phase seperation) in the gasoline, on top will be gas and on bottom will be water (and  ethanol if you use E fuel)

Finding the entry point of the water shouldn't be too tough. Seems like a good job for a smoke test. Any qualified mechanic should have a smoke tester.

A vacuum test would be a bit harder, but you have to use what you have access to. And a smoke tester isn't something that most home mechanics  have laying around. However, with a little creativity, you can re-create the smoke tester using household items. And a cheap vacuum tester can be easily found online.

My suspicion would lead me to the top of the fuel tank first. It would be the most likely place for water to get in. Next up, would be the return line, the cap, and the vent. A visual inspection of these likely areas might provide a quick solution, with no tools needed.

Let us know what the mechanic says. If he's unable, or unwilling to do a comprehensive test. You can do it yourself, with a little patience. It's very simple, and straightforward.

But as Travis said, first verify that there's actually water in there.

Have a MSU 500 that we got from my wife's uncle a while back. We've had it running and hauling around the property but it stopped a few months ago after what I thought was running out of gas and I'm just getting to looking into it.
Had fuel to the injector but nothing coming out the injector so swapped with new injector and installed inline filter in the supply hose from fuel pump. Tried again and still nothing but noticed this time that I can't hear the fuel pump priming.
Pulled off the electrical connection and I'm getting 12V to the fuel pump but it won't run. Put it on a test bench and got it to run so put test lamp between +ve and -ve terminals on the connector and nothing. Checked against the passenger seat securing post and get a light.
Tried chasing the wire back and think that the ground is through the ECU but not 100% sure. Can someone confirm for me? And if it is through the ECU, is the ECU just grounded against the frame or is it wired through to the battery?
Thanks in advance and hope this all make sense!

I have a Coleman 550.  Was having problems to start with where it would start and then shut off after a couple tries. It would take off and be good. It then got to a point where it would not start at all. I replaced the fuel injection twice the second time I replaced it I noticed a mouse or something had chewed one of the wires that connect the electrical to the fuel injector. . So two-part question first does anybody have a part number for that wire harness?  Second, any other ideas after I fix the wire harness permanently on what could keep it from starting I have gas flow up to the fuel injector.

Pulled fuel injector to see if I could clean it or if it's stuck open. Had a slide on clip that was really tough to get off. Don't see how the clip is supposed to lock into the plastic part that the injector slides into. Any videos or pics of injector replacement?

Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.
      Thanks so much!
