  1. Very cool , I have been talking about doiny this since I bought my trooper. Actually I started on it last year but then put it in storage. I need a rear shock and then finish up the rear cage so the kids can ride
  2. I blew my rear shock out 2 seasons ago. We are going to be going out this year and I need a shock. If anyone has a used stock shock they want to sell or a new one please send me an email [email protected] thanks Anthony
  3. I stared to build a new rear cage , Im going to put rear seats in it so we can take both kids with us for a few short rides. all our friend have teryes and rhinos with rear seats and since both kids are old enough now I want to include them. plus I want to take the trooper to our place at the river and take them to the sand bar to play and dont like taking the electric golf cart and the trail is narrow and would scratch the suburban. I will try and pick up the rear seat this weekend and will post pics when im done. Im in no hurry since I still need a shock
  4. I am looking for a rear shock, if you replaced you stock ones and want sell one let me know or if you stock them at your shop, please help me out . I would like to fix thing and take the kids out
  5. that link shows a10 inch shock, is thta what you used I was thinking a 12 and straping it.. why not a resvior shock there is room ?
  6. does this mean they will be hosting/repping the Joyner line in the US or are they only going to be a parts supplier ?
  7. my buddy I ride with is in a chair and drives a long travel rhino. I would love to let him drive the trooper to feel the power diff but since hes in a chair he is stuck to an automatic. After what has happened with Joyner and with the shitty dealer I tried to have service done at and then the long talk which didnt end so nicely with the service manager today I am not sure about buying a trooper given another chance. I love it but worry about sourcing parts. Most of my concern isnt littler stuff as i own my own hot rod/race car shop and have the abilty to build alot of stuff and retro fit stuff. My main conceern is the extended warr company not being able to get big parts I was also told that I may have to order parts from Joyner China myself and then be reinbersed by the extended warr company. I think the dealer is just a joke and doesent take care of people but more concered about flagging hours and doing customer pay services and not fixing stuff
  8. thats not too bad, where they they 12 inch 2.0's ? also what spring rates did you decide on? did you corner weight the trooper or just guess. howa the ride quality? much better ?
  9. how much where they ? I heard from a friend that used to use them at his shop that they charge alot to ship and that in the end the kings arent much more .whats the price with coils
  10. how much for the shock ? also what upgrade shocks fdo you have ? was thinking Foa but have heard they kill you on shipping
  11. If anyone has a stock rear shock that is good please let me know what you want for it. I blew one out on saturday and have a few more trips left this season and just cant swing the expense of aftermarket shocks at the time
  12. I like using a tubing bender, plumbers work with pipe, but I usually build race cars and hot rods and off road stuff out of d.o.m. tubing, or molly.
  13. This isnt good, I sure hope someone else does take the Us line and that its not all talk. This was my biggest fear when purchasing a China made product. It have alot of fun with it but I have had issues most of the time out. I got back from a ride last night and the dr rear shock blew out and the tire hit the fender and cracked it. Not sure what im going to do about fixing it now
  14. Do you need to add a windshield ? I have considered getting at plates . i know that auto tags have gone up in Ca so i wonder if offroad stuff will. if it does then i may just plate it in az. How much are plated in az ?
  15. My luck stinks, I went to move the trooper the other day and it would not start. Start checking stuff and fuel pump went out. I need to find the time to take it in and use my extended warr. I dont mind fixing it myself but when it comes to spending money I would rather let the warr take care of it and just pay my $25 co pay
  16. I wish there was a loop hole, I also live in Ca. I see this thing sitting around and wish I could just hop into it to run to the store, or to go get a burger
  17. I guess I look at this stuff dufferently coming from a automotive backround. I have worked at dealer and have been to alot of school where I take advantage of what they are teaching and listen and read alot more than what others do. I also have been involved in alot of fab work and drag racing. I have done stuff for Sema project cars and trucks. So I understand what you are saying about building your own parts and doing it your own way. But as I said I have seen cars with over 200K on them so alot of these ideas are not new and work. There is alot that can be applied to these things and am sure there are more ways than one to get the end result. I give things a different look due to the fact that I drag race, build drag motors and chassis setups. I have friends that have desert car shops that do race prep and pre run and pit for race teams. I toss my ideas off them and they do the same . Its the same as all of us here
  18. Cars have also sucessfully used IAC's for years. All these things on these troopers have been used in cars for years and most have gone 200k. I think its part of the issue with QC and parts slection when these things were built. Have you even thought that all the sensors were on the engine for a reason ?
  19. i still have the stock filter and have been oiling it. I would like to repalce it but since losing my job i would ddo other stuff with the $50 tahn buy a filter. I just wanted to know what people meant when they said they were no good
  20. what is the problem with the stock filter ? People are saying that it lets dirt past but its also said that the filter is dry and needs to be oiled. Is there a problem with the stock filter id its oiled ? How about with a K&N Foam pre filter
  21. Well I had alot of fun, but the first day out I had tube in my right rear tire and the valve stem ripped off the tube. Stupid me left the jack and ratchet at camp so walked back and took the golf car back to change the tire. Fixed intime to go to the lake for the firework show. Next the wife and sis inlaw took off in the mornin in the trooper thru the trail to the lake to set up to get us a spot on the beach. After a few hours of us all swiming on having fun so lady came walking out the trails and asks for help ,said they had a truck that was stuck and just needed a "little" tug or pull to get out. Turns out its a 3/4 longbed chevy on a single track fire road, the edges of the road were really soft wet sand and he decided to make a u-turn there and got the thing stuck up to the diff cover. I told him i would not be able to help but he insisted I try ,so on the second tug my tow strap popped off and tore the connector off for the cooling fan which i didnt know. I went back to the beach swam and had a few more beers only to see the same lady come walking back and asked for a ride to her camp to get a jack since they were still stuck. I gave her a ride back and on my way back to the beach the cooling bypass hose from the head to the radiator hose burst as a result of the fan not working. i wasnt watching the gauge since it was a narrow single track on the side of a cliff. Parked the trooper off the side of the trail in a wider spot ,of it was 95 deg out also. Got a ride to my truck ,drove into town and bought some hose. Got a ride back to the trooper fixed it and got to the beach to load up all our stuff.Went for a morning ride and on the shift the roll pin for the shift fork shattered, really shattered into 5 pieced and fell out so i only had second. i had a few machine screws in the storage comparment so I used that and a sliver of the roll pin and tapped that in and was on my way back. All in all it was alot of fun and got to enjoy a good weekend camping with the family. Now I am going to have to try to use a sidewall patch and fix my tire or try a tube agin ,but dont like that idea since i couldnt find the right size the first time and the valve stem ripped off. I also noticed that my trailing arm mount brackets were cracking at the weld, I belive this was due to a poor fit. I can see that there was a gap that was just filled with a poor weld bead. i am going to take this thing apart and gusset and brace a few things, also mount a jack and tool box to the roof rack, build rock sliders, and rebuild the rear cage
  22. here half way down the first page http://www.utvboard.com/warranty-coverage-t816.html
  23. I like my trooper and have alot of fun. i had alot of plans for it but things changed,i lost my job ,I have another baby on the way and I have a race car that I would rather work on. But i will say the quailty is lacking in alot of areas, the chassis is decnt but poorly fittited. The notches are poor and filled with a mig ,other tubes looks like they were notched wrond and were crimped to fit. Alot of this stuff isnt bad, i have an idea of were i want to gusset the front arms, rebuild the cage so the next time its on its lid nothin breaks. Maybe its just me since i deal with alot of high end drag cars and offroad cars. I have friends with chassis shops and i do alot of side work on race cars all detail work. I understand this is a production car and maybe I push it harder than it was meant to be. That wouldnt be the first time that I have been accused of that. I will see how it holds up this weekend
  24. I just read about other people saying they could not get anyone to answer. I also think the the joyner product isnt that great but it helps to have this guy there. i talked to a few prople who were less than helpful and with them the company is goin into the ground. The power of the web can be helpful with alot of things, and you would think a new company would care about the issues and try to make them right and also keep a customer happy but it seemed most of them dont care. The Ceo was never there when I was supposed to call to talk to him and was told to email him and i would hear back in about a week. I like my trooper and its alot of fun but its not build that well and i have too many other projects to strip it down and deal with them all at once I I fix it when something breaks
