  1. You might want to consider just buying a new winch. I have ordered several from Rocky Mountain ATV, I don't know what kind of riding you do but for me the factory 2500# is very weak. you can get a 3000# or a 4000# Warn and the new ones are waterproof. You can get wired or wireless remotes for them and they are quiet and they will last a very long time.
  2. I noticed that most of the plugs on the joyners have a good seal on them, but there are some important ones without a rubber seal and I think that may be one of them. I also had a 1100 sand viper that we went to move yesterday and it was running and then died. Got to checking around because the fuel pump and the fan wouldnt come on when you turned on the ignition, found that the top half of fuse box didnt have juice and started pulling plugs and found one that one pin was bent by whoever put it together and wasnt in the splice for it, it was just touching the side and had got hot and melted the plastic just enough to loose connection. Also on the trooper, had mine die the other day and wouldnt start, got to looking around and it didnt have any pressure at the regulator, pulled the line off and the pump was working fine, so I took the line that comes from the pump and put it on the return nipple, turned on the key for just a sec. and then hooked it back up and it was fine. Didnt know if anyone has had a problem with maybe a small piece of something getting into the reg and blocking it? It has worked fine every since then. Sorry about getting off subject, You can buy dielectric grease at about any auto store around.
  3. On the issue of the plugs, I have always used dielectric grease on all plugs. I was always told to not use regular grease because it would conduct electricity. All I know is that I have never had a problem with water in a connector or had any other problems after filling them with dielectric grease.
  4. I was wondering if anyone has had many problems with the clutch? How long, on average, do they last under normal circumstances?
  5. on the problem with the seats, we have one that has just been used for test drives and when I had the seat up to clean, noticed that 4 straps had come loose. Looks like a bad design to me, the clips on the straps go straight up and I think they should have been on the top of the bar. Called our rep. and he sent a whole new seat.
  6. I was just wondering if anyone has tried different mufflers? We have alot of hunters (including myself) in the area and everyone wants a quiet muffler for the Trooper and the Renegade. We were just going to get a couple of auto mufflers and slip on the back to see what it would sound like but if someone else has messed with this, it may save us some money or at least give us a place to start. Also wanted to say thanks for alot of info and imput from everyone.
  7. The brakes are just single piston calipers so they will feel alittle weak but I have had no problems with them. When you get a few more miles on it they should start to feel somewhat better.
  8. We are a new dealer in Northeast MO, if there is anything you want info on or pics of just let me know and i will get them for you anytime.
  9. As for the fenders, the reason I was asking about the rubber flares was because they would be flexible and I would lower the chance on breaking the fenders. We have alot of atv trail, poker runs etc. around here and they are tight for the trooper. If you do come up with a new design I would like to see it. Thanks for the link to the pic of snow blade, I don't know what kind of blade that is. We are going two order a couple of Swishers, they make the brackets for the Trooper and Renegade. From what I know you have to take the winch off and put in on another plate with the blade and then the whole ass. goes into the reciever on the front of the Renegade but the new troopers dont have the reciever in the front anymore so was just wandering how it bolted on. I know everything hinges and hooks up in the front.
  10. I was wondering if anyone of you have got a snow plow or blade for the trooper or renegade. We are going to order a couple with the next order of machines, but that may be another month or so and I cant find any pics from anywhere to show an up close pic of how they mnt to the trooper. Also if anyone does have one from swisher, I was wondering how it holds up. Also was wondering what different ideas anyone has done for fender flares to keep some of mud off, was thinking maybe some of the rubber flare that you can buy in a roll that I have seen on jeeps. Someone comes to test drive and they come back covered in mud.
  11. Thanks for the input. Since we ride in woods and water alot I think I am going to build a air box so I dont have to wrap the air filter every time I wash it, and I didnt know if anyone has had any trouble with any of the electronics and water. Whenever I got a new 4wheeler, the first thing I would do is take all of the plugs apart and fill them with dielectric grease to keep water out and I was curios if anyone has had any problems or opinions on better preventing a problem with this. I hadnt seen anything about this subject yet so just thought I would ask. Has anyone put a chip in the trooper or renagade, I know that a guy in CA sells a 20hp chip and box?
  12. My name is Rusty and I'm new to using forums so forgive me if I mess something up. A friend of mine and myself just started dealing Joyners and while trying to research these the best I could I came across this place. From what I have read, it seems most of you are very happy with the troopers and I am glad to hear it. I was wondering if I could call on some opinions on the trooper and the renagades. We are in northeast MO and I have always had 4wheelers so the SXS are a new one for me. I have a trooper of my own now and have seen a few things that could be improved and thought that maybe some of you could help me out on what problems I may have to look forward to. Most all of our riding is in the woods and creeks and alot of mud. Thanks for any response
