That will be according to what kind of shape the engine and clutch is in. Mine is still capable and it has probably 15 years on the original engine and clutch but it has also mostly been adult driven.

Just saw this. Have you disconnected the cable from the rear end and tried to put it in gear?

My Bulldog has a neutral safety switch that can get a little finicky. You might have inadvertently adjusted it. Either way, glad you got it going.

Post pictures of the engine and several pictures of the buggy. Someone on here should be able to help.

When it won't start pull the pull rope just enough to land on a different spot on the flywheel and then try to start with the starter. It could be a worn spot on the flywheel.

I also have a Bull Dog and you are correct, parts are way overpriced OEM. To make it worse I have the Robbins-Subaru engine so most parts have to be ordered. would appreciate any information you have on where you source your parts . I'm in need of brake shoes in a big way and can't bring myself to pay$139.00 Thanks and I appreciate your help.

Which engine? If it's the Robbin Subaru there is no fuel filter or fuel pump. It is basically a 9 hp lawn mower engine. Sounds like the carb needs a good cleaning.
