  1. Yep, she is a beast alright and many years in the making. It’s got the 812cc Renegade engine in the old Sand Viper 650 body (Commando engine). No comparison between the two. Pity it took too long to get to market, geez I might be selling Joyners if it was a year or so earlier. Cheers Mike.
  2. Chery engines are made by Chery and used by many Off Road and On Road Vehicles. The JD engine is the Chery 812cc and is the same as the Joyner Renegades. JD followed Joyner after testing the engine out. JD has the Auto Trans and is down on power a bit from the Renegades Manual Trans set-up. It’s the fastest ever Gator but against Joyner it’s behind both the Trooper and Renegade. Cheers Mike.
  3. Yeah sorry roc the message box was full, I've cleared it now though. Cheers Mike.
  4. When I first read this I thought what’s rocmoc got to hide and what sites is he looking at, but now I get it. Have a read here/ http://donttrack.us/ . That’s a worry and will give the duck a go. BTW roc, howz it going? I thought of you today when my sons friend wanted to look at one of our old Trooper videos on YouTube and came across this vid that would make you shudder. Mud, mud, glorious mud. Cheers Mike.
  5. We now offer a permanent 5% discount for all members of UTV Boards for all our Enclosure products for most makes & models. Contact Lenny or go to http://www.pacificeagleutv.com/specials.htm Cheers Mike.
  6. Yeah, well it’s looking more and more unlikely that I wont be able to make it, so the cash is yours if you do Jeff. My problem is Jane my wife can only get one week off when we thought she could have two. It’s way, way, way to far to come just for one week. We could do it but it would mean one day flying each way and only five days to enjoy. We went to the Cook Islands a few months back for seven days and that was not enough time. Rarotonga Island in the Cooks is only 30 kms round, how big is the West Coast of the USA? I want time to enjoy, relax and Tiki Tour (sight see). Never say never so I’m not ruling it out, but it’s not a sure thing anymore. Cheers Mike.
  7. Hey Rick, sorry about that. I’m not too sure what’s going on, but I have just deleted a lot more messages and sent you a PM. Hopefully that gets through. Cheers Mike.
  8. Now we have dates to work with, I'll try and work with the dates. It will cost plenty but it's within the budget but there are other things to consider like work times two and funds I might need for a new venture. At least we can now focus on these dates. Cheers Mike.
  9. Sorry Rick, I've deleted some messages so you should be sweet now. Cheers Mike.
  10. Become a member on www.buggynews.com and add the same post there. You will have a couple of guys help you out for sure. They are more Joyner Buggy experts and we are more Joyner UTV orientated. BIGE from McDonough Powersports or PGH are the go-to men on Buggy News for Joyners and they will tell you what's going on with your 650 Spider. If you can get a hold of Casey, he would know too. Cheers Mike.
  11. I don’t care where as long as I’m there. I’m getting closer to making a commitment. Thanks to you guys I have several possibilities and have time to get it right. Here is a question out of the blue. There is an outfit called Postal Pete that sells New Right Hand Drive Jeeps to postal delivery people in the US. My question is, can Right Hand Drive vehicles be driven in the US if not delivery post? These are way cheaper than here in NZ and could look at one. Cheers Mike.
  12. Thanks guy’s sounds like there might be a plan in the making. Just a quick post, I’ll add more when I get back about 12 hours or so. Cheers Mike.
  13. That’s a great offer Stevozz and one that I will contemplate. I’ve had a look at how far off you are from the Salton Sea and it looks like a days drive. One way around it is too fly into Arizona and hire a RV from there. Then hire a trailer for a few days and do a round trip with your Trooper. Not all hire companies let you tow with their RVs though. It’s worth investigating and thanks very much for the offer Stevozz. We were just going to fly into L.A and go from there. I'm still thinking about buying a UTV to import back home, but I've still got the problem of towing if allowed and a trailer. Cheers Mike.
  14. I’m still in the maybe side of things & have voted that way. There is more for me to sort out first to make it happen. Firstly, I need confirmed dates and then I can start climbing into it. Jane, my wife is keen and as we still have plenty of time on our side before we commit, we will wait and see what develops. Cheers Mike.
  15. Thanks mate, I might just take you up on that one. Cheer Mike.
  16. Bert's were a Joyner dealer, well for Team Joyner USA anyway. The SIKA-RS will only direct you to my website as I have renamed them for NZ as there are no real Sand Dunes that you can drive on. Your best bet is Sand Reeper or GS Moon UTV. Cheers Mike.
  17. I shipped a 1981 Z28 back a few years ago and that cost nz$3000 (USD $2473 on today’s exchange rate), but something the size a UTV should only cost nz$1800 (USD $1483) if part of a LCL container. I know there is a few guys that do this for a living. Here is a heads up for you. Check out the price of a new Harley in the USA and compere that to a new price for a Harley in Australia. There is plenty to be made there if you can tap into it. Garth, sorry for sabotaging your post. Cheers Mike.
  18. Roc, its a great deal and I really should just go for it. Who’s going to run it in for me? Polaris have a $1000 cash back making it even more appealing. The $11,999 price I quoted included that and a link is http://bertsinventory.com/burners/Large/Polaris%20copy.jpg I’ve come up with another solution over night and that would be export a SIKA-RS (Sand Reeper) into California, use it for the Jamboree and sell it in the States. I would only pay cost from the manufacture plus shipping and then sell it for what it owes me. That’s a win win win too. Cheers Mike.
  19. I did contemplate that. I’ve already got an 08 Trooper downstairs though. I’ve been doing my homework and I’m thinking of maybe a new Polaris Ranger Diesel. I’ve seen them for USD$11,999 for a new 2011 on a USA website. In NZ the retail price is NZD$25,599. That equals USD$20923 on todays exchange or a saving of USD$8924. That could pay for the trip if I on sell it back here. I might take you up on the storage offer. I’m also thinking of maybe a Jeep. Would that be out of place where were are going? By the way 6K for an 08 Trooper with low mileage is a very sharp deal so if you are thing about grabbing yourself a bargain, don’t hesitate too long. Cheers Mike.
  20. I'd like to think that my old mate 4x4x454 could make it this time around too. My driving distance is only 80km from my home to the airport and 250km from L.A to the Jamboree so I wont be in line for the greatest driving distance award. That could be all yours 4x4x454 if Plumber can't make it. BTW, who else is thinking of coming? Cheers Mike.
  21. Thanks Lenny for your very generous offer but I would not do that to you. I’m looking forward to meeting you both along with everybody else and taking your "Super Trooper" beast for a wee spin. If we come, we will hire out or sort out a vehicle for sure. I might even buy something that I could ship back to NZ. Powersports vehicles are thousands of dollars cheaper in the USA than NZ & Aussie. The important thing is that I have time to work it out. I’m relax about when we go if it’s not too hot, even if it’s this time of year or a bit latter on when it starts to get cooler. Cheers Mike.
  22. Rick, those prices do seem high but will shop around and see if there is any competition. Thanks for the link. Cheers Mike.
  23. Roc, I've only said Easter because of the lower temperate, I’m total flexible with the dates around that period and will work in with everyone else, but I will more than likely give it a miss if it's held during the hotter months. A week after Easter works for me fine. Cheers Mike
  24. Thanks Rick. Yeah I figured there must be ATV rentals close by. I should import a Demo over and then sell it afterwards, but that's too much hassle and I’d still need to tow it. Cheers Mike.
  25. OK, me and Mrs Brostar are thinking, just thinking about maybe coming over for the Jamboree. I’ve checked out some prices and although it wont be cheep, I’m reasonably happy with the overall cost. We would hire a RV for about 12 to 14 days and take in some of that beautiful countryside I’ve always wanted to see. One big problem is I hate flying, but we have just been up to the Cook Islands and this time it wasn’t too bad. The other problem is we would need to hire a ATV or UTV close to where it’s been held. I don’t think we are allowed to tow so is their a place where your staying that hires out vehicles or has someone got a spare ATV we could use? I’ve voted for Easter, because the heat would kill me. One more thing, if we do come we would need more time to organise than most so would like confirmed dates and a place as soon as poss. Sorry for being a pain in the butt. Cheers Mike.
