I've been thinking about adding a remote control for my winch since I got back from Moab and Steel Bender and seeing how handy it was for the guy that helped me with his winch. My first thought were to use a coil type phone cord, but I have decided on a garage door type remote. All it takes is a ground, and a wire from each of the 3 wires coming from the winch switch. I ordered 2 from Ebay and when they get here, I'll photo it and paste it. Just thought some may like the idea, I think it's about as simple as it gets. If interested, I will post directions of how to hook up.

Here's link to the schematics for adding a remote control for your winch to your rig.

I have changed the winch control on my rig over to a FET H Bridge, so I don't want both IN and OUT signals sent to my winch control (relay). I added 2 secondary relays to the remote control circuit board, now if you push A(IN) and B(OUT) on the remote control at the same time, nothing is sent to the winch controller. If I push the OUT button in the Trooper and the remote A (IN) is pushed during the same time, the remote control is dominate.

I had a failure of the winch control relay and had to be pulled up over part of the Steel Bender trail at Moab and decided to replace that relay with FETs also. To get the current carrying capability, I had to parallel several FETs, each one capable of handling 75 amps. Because I have 2 methods of input to winch 'relay', I had to ensure that it could handle having both in and out signal without damage. After blowing up sever FETs, literally, I came up with a design that allows both signals with no damage, if it happens, no power is sent to the winch. If you want more details, see the other forum I visit regularly, http://www.electro-tech-online.com/general-electronics-chat/134772-remote-control-winch.html

Here's the "final" product prior to encasing and installation, works well, I have tested it several times by applying both in and out signals and had no failures.

Side note, this photo was uploaded to the other forum and this is just a link, I found it interesting, but that's just me.

I just purchased a 2023 Honda Pioneer a couple of weeks ago and had the hard roof and a front Honda Pioneer windshield installed at the shop before taking ownership. As things are drying up here in NC, the grass and dust are beginning to fly right through the back of the cab while driving. I was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations on rear windshields, dust panels, or mesh screens to help stop this?
      Thanks a lot!

I bought this SxS brand new.  A couple of years after I bought it, I became disabled.  Thus it has only 47 miles and around 16 hours of use.  I have no need to keep the SxS.  I am in Foley, Alabama.  It is very hard for me to get in out of the Challenger.  I would like to sell the set, 2019 Challenger 400, trailer and uninstalled winch (this was bought brand new as well, someone was supposed to help this newbie install and we never got around to doing this). I want  $6500 for the whole set OBO (Serious offers only).

Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.
      Thanks so much!

Does anyone know where the winch fuse is located on a 2021 ut400? I’ve been working on the solenoid because the winch will only go in one direction..
Either in or out depending if I reverse the leads on the solenoid. Now I have no power to the solenoid and it appears I blew a fuse. Winch is supposed to have a 30 amp fuse.

i checked all the fuses in the fuse box near the battery and the 30amp fuse hanging in the compartment. Everything is good there.
but I can’t locate any other fuses. Any help would be appreciated.

Just bought new 2024 AODES 650 work cross 2 seated for my dad and he's very resilient at 79 and still cuts trees, splits and hauls firewood for heating home. He's begun using Polaris ATV with wagon more over his 80's toyo4x4 flatbed after the wood has been split. I figured UTV would be easier, more practical at times and more fun. It does not have a heater and would like suggestions on one that best suits his. He's tough but gets chilled easy now and a heater would make joyriding much better at this time of year. I Have found nothing that specifically Says it's made for this particular UTV I don't know what to make of the More generic Hacher versions Or how adaptable they are. I've read They have come from the factory with Heaters but It says nothing about Adding
