Can Am Maverick X3 DS GPS

Recommended Posts

Hey There!

My hubbie and I are brand new to the side by side world, we've previously owned jeeps and 4 wheelers.  We just purchased a Can Am Maverick X3 DS.   We live in Utah and are only 5 minutes from the mouth of a canyon with hundreds of miles of trails, and are very excited to start exploring.

We are hoping to learn a few things from the vast expanse of experience here!

First question I have is, which GPS units have you all tried?  Which model do you recommend for us "beginners"?  What options do you love?

Thanks!

Melissa & Shane!

which canyon? I Have a delorme PN 60, but delorme got bought by Garmin and I need to upgrade, their replace is around 500, What phone do you have, Try mytrails, it's free or you can go pro for about $5.00, I worry about getting out somewhere and breaking down or getting stuck, so I have a satellite communicator, Inreach, had Spot, recommend either, but Inreach was Delorme and now Garmin and you can download maps of anywhere you plan to go. same with Mytrails, but a bit more of a hassle and you can save your track too as a .GPX file,  I have most of my rides all the way back to 2008 saved

That's the question! Or, if you want to add details:
      (a) How do you use the UTV? (roads? off-road to get to trees? etc.)
      (b) If you are wearing a helmet--how frequently? What type of helmet?

My own answers: (a) Most of the time off-road to get to downed trees, cut the trees to logs and haul the logs back for splitting. (b) Very rarely, a ski helmet and not a motorcycle helmet.

In the market for side by side. Narrowed it down between the pioneer 1000 or defender Hd9. Looking for pros and cons of both. Any info would be helpful in my selection process. Noise, speed, reliability, ride, all of it.

Just bought my first SxS 4 days ago. Looking forward to hitting some trails and back roads. Having a few issues with the machine(Vector 500), but nothing serious. Just setup and tweaking. I would like to by some accessories, but I don’t seem to be able to find much which is machine specific. Or at least my machine. Does hisun offer accessories? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a Coleman Outfitter 550 purchased in January 2022 that runs and operates pretty well.  65 hours on it so far.   It is a work vehicle for my 10 hilly acres with two 1 acre woods and 5 acres of "lawn".  The rest is under a lake.
My parking brake does not seem to have any grip.  It worked when new but after a month or so, it is just almost useless.     I press the parking brake pedal hard until it stops. Still, it won't hold even on slight inclines.   I don't see the caliper move as I press the brake pedal down.  There seems to be plenty of pad left on it and the rotor is shiny as if it is rubbing a little when applied, but not enough to stop it from rolling.
      Any thoughts on possible causes?
