I recently got a 2006 Joyner 650cc Commando. It was not running when i got it.
I put a new fuel pump and alternator and is up and running.
My problem is when I originally got it started it seemed I didn't have 1st gear. I was able to get it moving from 2nd and was sure I got it into 3rd.
In my process of diagnosing the first gear issue and I realize I have first gear because it is where I thought 3rd gear was. But now I don't seem to have 3rd or 4th gear.
The shifter itself seems sloppy and needs a little rehab if that is possible. Replacement available?
Cables are worn so I don't know if they have too much play to properly shift. Can't seem to find any cables available to replace.
Can someone tell me which cable should be first and second and 3rd and 4th? One is black and the other is red.
Ultimately it may be a transmission problem internally.
As long as I have 1st and 2nd the machine will work for me going through the woods picking up wood.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
New to this if you can't tell.
Thanks

I am considering purchasing this (used) with 2000 miles on odo. I have searched this site for information regarding differential issues. My question is: What model years would have "up-graded" differentials? I realize I will need to visually inspect both differentials once I get it, but just looking for a baseline as to if this particular year is more problematic, etc.
Thanks...Great site!

Hi,
New member from South Louisiana. I have an American Sportsman UTV with a Subaru/Robin EH65 twin cylinder 2 barrel carburetor. I had starter trouble (solenoid) and allowed my grandson to pull engine in order to change it. You cannot pull engine shroud with the engine in machine and cannot remove starter without removing shroud. Kid is great mechanic but lacks experience. Putting engine back in and he realizes he didn't mark wire locations. I have schematics but colors don't match what I have. Anyone out there that can help me wire this engine back up?

Good morning everyone, appreciate any help on this. I picked up a 2013 Hisun 800 for a project. Previous owner had fried a lot of the electrical with a bunch of aftermarket audio equipment, so I have been replacing all of the wiring to give it a fresh start. I'm 95% there with a couple of plugs I can't figure out where they need to be routed and the reason for me reaching out for help here.
1. A female 2-port white plug that comes off the end of the main harness, close to the side where the terminal hook ups tap into the battery. It has a Blue/black-stripe wire and a White/blue-stripe wire. (Pictures: https://ibb.co/m9PRDqX and
https://ibb.co/9pHZsFj). I'm assuming it is another single offset fuse or module like the other pieces around it but can't find anything on what it might be or that wire color combination in the manual/wiring diagrams...anyone know what this guy goes to?
2. On the crank position sensor (torque sensor), the wires that I have coming off of that are a green wire and blue/light-gray-stripe wire (https://ibb.co/FmJLJfs)...any idea on where this guy is suppose to plug in to?
Again, thanks for any help you can provide!

does anyone have any knowledge of these clutchless automatic manual shift utvs? I have a 4 seater 4x4 650 that the wiring has been butchered and there is no longer a shifter knob. I'm just curious to know if anyone has a wiring diagram or any knowledge of these units without a clutch pedal and are electric shifted and not cable gear driven

I recently replaced my rear driveshaft on my 08 Commando 650. Unfortunately, the parking brake rotor was welded to the old one, and the new one did not have one. The folks at Joyner recommended just moving the caliper to the rear wheel as there is a second bracket I could mount it to. However, the brake line is too short to reach that bracket, anyone done this reposition before? Are there standard size brake lines and fittings that I can buy to move it? Right now I have it bolted back up to the factory bracket but it sucks to not have a parking brake.

I need to replace my rear reducer, and talked to Joyner-USA who indicated that I can only replace the rear reducer with an identical one. I would like to eliminate the permanently locked characteristic of the Commando and go to a locking/inlocking differential as is used on other models. I tore the original one up because I have to follow paved drive to get unit out of my garage-storage area. It was just too much for the machine as well as leaving a lot of rubber behind in the process.
Has anybody looked into this? Thanks.
