I can't advise about the tire size, but I can tell you that changing to a larger tire will definitely effect the power of the unit. Also, if it has any kind of power assisted steering, it will be more stress on the steering, which could result in increased steering effort and possibly too much strain on the power steering system.

Well...I guess I need to reconsider my mod. I sure didn't account for all of that. I shoulda mentioned, it's going to be a street legal pavement queen. I'm getting DOT tires and thought it would be nice to beef it up just a little since I'm going to get new wheels as well. Can you suggest anything to me? BTW appreciate the in depth research/knowledge.

I put larger tires on a Dodge Dakota years ago. I figured that the larger mud and snow tread would help in the winter. Being that this was a manual transmission (this was a basic regular cab 4X4 no frills truck), it really dropped the power significantly. Learned an expensive lesson then.

If there's a way to change the final drive gearing, that would help. But that's also an expensive ordeal.

Hello I am new here but have had this machine for about 5 years. I am having issues with it surging and sometimes sounding like a small backfire thru the intake.  When putting in low, high or reverse it will struggle then go full power then struggle. It will only do the small backfire thing while in neutral reving it many times. Once in awhile it will throw a check engine light.
      Parts replaced/checked:
I have checked the valve lashing, timing and adjusted. Parts replaced are the coils, spark plugs, injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, IAC sensor, TPS sensor, throttle cable, speed sensor, primary and secondary clutch and belt.

I have a DesertCross 800 that doesn't want to stay in low, it pops out when I let off the gas. No problem with the other gears. What do I need to do?  Thanks.

I bought a tracker 88sx crew in 2023. It has a whishing noise coming from the front end. Starts out low and gets louder as speed increases. Took it back to the dealer and they said it was normal on this model. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this.

Bought a Massimo 500 last night. Stopped and filled it up on the way home and I put the wrong gas in it. Is there a drain plug on the bottom of the tank that I can get to or will I have to siphon it out?
