Challenger 750 - junk hisun motors!

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

We found that bypassing the thermal switch on radiator to make fan run continuously when key is on, ended the overheating.....of course  thats after we replaced the head gasket, then the warped burnt  head and  gasket again.. in beginning on hot day, it would overheat in 1-2 miles.... We tested their settings for switch. The fan engaged at 238 degrees if I remember correctly .. and the switch is on the COLD  side!!!  how hot was the engine ??? 250* -260*??  The heat in the cab was unbearable, I would be drenched in sweat in minutes.   .. now with a new adjustable switch and engine staying 150*-160* , the cab is pleasant..  I would also Check yours to see if head gasket is fried. look for air bubbles in recovery bottle while idling hot.  and / or water in oil.

Just an fyi

Ive worked on a few hisuns biggest issue with 700 750 is that when the engine was installed it was installed at the wrong angle and when going uphill it runs low on oil. Add 1 liter or quart of oil from full and re mark the dip stick.

This will solve a lot of issues especially with timing chain and wet clutch.

What your saying is true in some cases like very small 4 stroke, however the hisun has a built in windage tray for the crank, no spash.

Also due to the icreased volume of the case, it has a transmission built in, excess crank pressure isnt really an issue.

Either way avoiding catastrophic engine failure due to lack of oil is the key here.

Also i was incorrect it starves when going steep downhill not up.

Hi, all! I. I'm new to the board, hoping someone could help me out! I have a 2020 Hisun Sector 550C that I bought new in 2021. Today, I took some stuff next door to my parents. When I went to leave, I turned on the key, heard the solenoid click, but no lights, no guage activity, no fuel pump, and no starter.

The battery is good, I checked all the fuses, they are good. Not sure if the relays are good, or even what to look for there. Is it possible that it's maybe a wire?
I'm really stumped on this one! Any help would be deeply appreciated! Attached is a pic of the fuse box layout.

      Thanks!

Okay folks. I have a low power issue. Been like this for a few years. Place I work at bought 3 and all have lost most of the pulling power.  They gave them away after local shop worked on one for 3 months and it had great power for about 1 month and then crap. They replaced throttle body, fuel injector, spark plug and IAC motor. Seat belt switches have wires cut and left open so no seat belt warning light anymore. It revs to 6k rpm in neutral but when put in gear and take off in low it just doesn’t seem to want to go anymore. Running 93 octane fuel with Stabil.  Any ideas greatly appreciated. I dont have a scan tool but no codes on dash. If held to floor it pops a little and runs almost 5K rpm but if I let off pedal about an inch it smoothed out and revs up to 6k rpm.

I picked up this Hisun 700cc for a good deal. no crank no start unit 1900 miles on it. Put a new battery and starter solenoid fired right up but sounded rough some kind of rattle/clunk noise.  Does anyone know what this noise could be? Couldn't get a better video of it running as i don't want to risk doing more damage. Drained the oil it looks good no metal in it.

Have a Hisun 800 it runs for about 35 minutes then stalls. Crank's over but has no spark. Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and it starts and runs again for about 35 minutes. Changed the CDI / ECU controller and still does it.
