Kohler flywheel

So my engine was locked up. Pulled flywheel and found alot of mud and the magnets broken. Anyone else have the magnets break?

Seems Kohlers have that problem more so than Briggs and stratton or Kawasaki engines

most likely the mud is the cause for the broken magnets though, it almost looks like a dirt dauber nest in there.

if you need help looking up the part # post the model and spec number of the Kohler engine.  I would advise replacing the stator as well if there any nicks or broken wires on it.
