2013 Coleman ut500 Heat coming from the rear

I have a 2013 Coleman ut500. When riding I get a lot of heat coming from behind the seats. Has anyone put some kind of heat shield to stop this heat? It get quite warm on long rides! T.I.A.

Plan on doing something like that to my axis. Something else I plan on doing is a pair of 12 volt radiator fans way up high tied to the ROPS (roll over protection system). Then have passenger and driver rocker switches. 

Should provide plenty of air. Plenty of air comes in at the top of windshield. And help keep dust out of cab. I have a rear windshield. That helps a LOT but still gets a little in.

There are self adhesive rubber sheets with foil backing that are heat resistant and will help reflect the radiated heat you could try. As a bonus they also deaden noise. They are available for example, on Amazon, for relatively cheap.

I'm not familiar with that particular model/year but presumably like the other older models the cylinder slants forward under the driver's seat? If so it will be harder to deal with the heat due to the proximity of the cylinder. All the newer engines the cylinder slants backwards and is under the bed.

You also need to be careful what you block off for airflow around the engine because there are parts that require airflow to keep cool even on a nominally water cooled engine.

I had that same issue with my Massimo MSU500 .. Tried shielding the cab.. heat was still coming in everywhere . it was very hot with our  100* days here. The heat was coming from the outlet of the mechanical fan on passenger side. The duct exited right between the seats rear. And it was very hot!  Turned out it was because  the engine  was running 240* and soon blew the head .. after getting it all repaired couple times, we bypassed the factory sender on radiator and ran electric cooling fan 100%.. guess what, no heat in the cab .. When winter came we installed an adjustable controller to keep the engine between 160*-180*..   All is well now and you can put your hand on that duct on a hot day.

Thanks, but on mine you can see the exhaust right between the seats and the console. I believe that's where all the heat is coming from.

thats were my exhaust pipe is too.. right next to the duct that flows the heat out of the engine s mechanical fan ..it pulls air from filter box , thru rt side of engine cover and out thru duct between seats.  Its not hot anymore. the exhaust pipe is but the heat is not in the cab now .......... good luck

      So with seat belt on  I can only get up to 20mph then it starts bucking until I get under 20 again. Diconnected the seatbelt and same thing. Reconnected seatbelt and unplugged speed sensor. Zoom..it flies. But now I have no speedometer. I have a new speedometer sensor on the way..any other ideas?

      2022 Coleman 400 with 13 hours on the engine and the mice got to it. Every wire coming out of the steering column in one cluster has been eaten through. I tried reconnecting matching wire colors to each other and I get the left turn signal and hazards to work, nothing else. If I play around a bit I can get the horn to honk or headlights to come on but only when I connect them to the brown wire. Obviously I don't know what I am doing here. Does anyone have a picture of how these wires are connected when they are under the hood on the drivers side coming from the steering column?
      Gray - seems to carry power
      Brown - left turn signal
      Green with purple stripe - hazards?
      Pink with red stripe - horn?
      Green - head lights?
      Yellow - head lights?
      Yellow with red stripe?
      Blue?
      Dark green?
      There is also a bundle hanging under the hood not connected to anything green with yellow strip, brown and blue?
      Other than that issue, I am about ready to sell this for parts if you interested let me know.

      Massimo Msu 500 Has No Power

      Hello. I have a 2016 Massimo MSU 500. I was putting on a lightbar and i screwed up and didn't disconnect the battery so when i was taking of the positive cable to put on the power from the lightbar it sparked and now the utv has no power. I turn the key over and all i hear is a chirp. No lights or anything. Everything that comes from the battery to the jumper box up by the battery shows voltage but anything coming out does not such as to the winch or anything like that

      Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
      I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
      A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
      A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
      And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
      I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
      Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.

      I never see videos of hear of people taking these things to the big trails. Do you ? I just got one and want to.
