  1. Just got done talking to Casey that uses to work for Joyner he said that two or three weeks a place called joyner motor co will be opening to sell parts he said there web page will be up in a couple of days he went to work for them on monday

sounds good.I will be down his way this weekend and have plans on hooking up with him.Hope to pick up some extra parts.

  2. Welcome. If I were where I am now when I bought my Trooper, I wouldn't have bought one. However, let me explain. I like my Trooper and don't concern myself about parts too much. I have the ability and machinery unlike most to pretty much remake or adapt something else for anything I might need. I'm not sorry I bought th T2 because I've learned a lot about how one should be built or not be built. I considered about just building one from scratch but without the knowledge I gained with the T2 I would have made several mistakes. I feel like now I could build a far superior ride. So at the time it was the right machine for me to buy and I would do it over again if my knowledge base was where it was back then. I still do a lot of things that the other ATVs would struggle at. Like really steep climbs. It's just more stable climbing because of its length. I can carry a bigger load. I feel safer. It's a 5 speed. I like the engine. With the problems fixed, it's a real brute. With the changes I have made to mine, it's a good solid machine and reliaible. Now that I've rewired everythig, I can track downs problems much much easier. I can't beleive Joyner will let thyings drop. There are over 100 dealers in the USA alone and probably 200 world wide. Thats a big start and with a few improvements, Joyner could be a major player in the field with it's own nitch machine. Mine is still a work in progress but that is me. I could have bought a Honda and it would also perpetually be a work in progress.

Well said Lenny,I think most people who buy any machine like this after a while has their own ideas. Some like you have the ability to go further then others do.I myself dont have the capabilities or knowledge you and many other members here have(I wish i did).I do have ideas for changes I can make by either purchasing other parts or making my own.One of the many reasons I like this forum is I have learned so much just from sitting back and reading what goes back and forth between many of you.I think no matter what purchase I would have made I myself would find changes to be made, mechanically or cosmeticaly.

  3. Ad shows Casey as the seller. Casey was the person / manager in charge of the shop at TeamJoyner.

Yea, I spoke to him a few times.Gonna give him a call later.Wish i saw his add last night,I may have made a trip over there and picked up some parts today.

  4. I hate it when I make stupid mistakes and then post them as if I knew what I was doing, I pulled the solenoid off the starter and put it back on 180 degrees off.

Ignore my comments about the power to activate being - , it is + and I have to pull my starter again and fix my stupid mistake. Damn, I hate doing stupid stuff, and then having to fix it.

    Thanks

    Kinarfi, the dumb shit.

If I did not know better I would say you must have taken lessons from me..(LOL)

  5. Someone locked my old power steering (electric) thread, guess that's ok, Any Way, I got the design working very well and now we are going into the test stage. On my rig, in the garage, it is working beautifully, and when I get my starter fixed and a few other things necessary taken care of, I'll be out test driving. Works very smoothly and makes turning very easy, need to get out side and test it in 4 X 4 and Lockers in.

    Kinarfi

Good luck, looking forward to hear how it goes.

  6. I think I found the problem with my starting problem, One the starter didn't always engage and it was hard to start. The starter had a not tight enough connection for the solenoid. Some how, oil got sucked into the intake manifold and it wetted everything from the butterfly in. Took the air bypass plunger (or what ever it's called) and cleaned it with denatured alcohol and managed to move the plunger by hand, hope I didn't ruin it. and cleaned up the throttle position sensor and clean the air temp sensor (if that is what it is) and washed the throttle body thoroughly with soap and water, The ugly part was the "mud" on the filter side of the butterfly valve, I had cleaned the air tubes earlier after putting my snorkel on (I highly recommend snorkels to every one to get the intake up into clean air instead of the dusty area around the engine), but didn't get inside the throttle body at that time. The air tubes were still spotless. Any one have any ideas of how the oil gets sucked in? I think it comes in through the little tube that goes to the top of the valve cover. Didn't get everything back together yet, tomorrow, will post results.

Question about starter solenoid, does the lead going to the solenoid supply the + power or the - ground to activate it. All the starters I've dealt with previously received + power, it appear troopers receive a ground to activate.

    Thanks

    Kinarfi

PS fear not about taking the throttle body and stuff apart, it goes back together very simply. I was quite worried about getting into it.

If you dont get your answer by the time i get home this afternoon i will check mine out.

  7. With the weather nearing 70+ degrees, we went for a little ride today. I sure enjoy driving my Trooper. We went to the Post Office & Bank in our little town. Ran great and the rebuilt tranny is still better than new. We will be taking it to Kino Bay, Son., MX in three weeks. I sold the complete set of original rims in a package deal to a guy in the next town so I had to get a new spare tire & rim. I bought a 14" rim for less than half what they sold for from Joyner on Ebay. What service, it arrived in less than two days. The 14" will work fine as a spare, now to find the largest used 14" tire I can find.

Gotta rub it in huh!!!! I'll be in Havasu this weekend but wont have the buggy due to the weather forcast.I will be down your way in Tuson the end of March at some spring training games there and up to Tempe for the same.Weather should be good then also.

  8. Have not seen a post of anyone changing plugs. On a positive note, even standard plugs last forever now days with lead-free gas unless you wet the plugs because of an engine problem. Will be very interested in what you do and if you are having problems with your factory plugs. Good luck!

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

No problems,I just decided to pull the plugs to take a look at them and to be honest that was the first time i had seem an Iridium plug(guess i gotta get out more) and was surprised.I then checked with the Part,Pieces folder Kinarfi has and saw that they are listed as replacents from NGK.Not being familier with them is why I was asking.

  9. Instructions with ECU suck! I had to call the guy a couple times but once spoke with him it all made since. The ecu IMO is good just high on price. The ECU is made by TRUST Japan which is Greddy in the USA. Seems to me the tune could be stronger, it has a dead spot at 4k. I'm trying to work this out now. I have noticed that when I retard the timing it gains bottom end torque. Id say that the ecu adds a good amount of torque but most of it is in the higher revs. Alabama doesn't have dunes so I'm trying to dial in that low end power. A built 1100 w/ supercharger is in the works.I'm so power hungry!! :D

    Traland

I had called Fast Freddys a couple weeks ago regarding their ECU and they wanted $900 plus another $100 or so to install and test/tune on their dyno, think its worth it for what i would gain?

  10. Are you saying that the Iridium type is standard? if so, I'm impressed. They lasted over 90,000 miles in my GMC Yukon with a 350 in it.

    kinarfi

No what I meant as standard was the regular type spark plug,I refered to the Iridium as the original or plug that was in the engine when I purchased the vehicle from dealer.Sorry if I made this more confusing then intended.

  11. Just wanted to know of those of you that have changed out their plugs have you replaced them with the Iridium type as what is original or gone to the standard type plug.If you have switched to another type have you noticed any change in performance?

    Thanks,
