  1. If your ride down the UTV/ATV trails requires extra antifreeze ,battery jumper cables and a tow rope .... you could own a MASSIMO
  2. 5500 rpm is redline on my Hisun 500 engine ..it does not have a rev limiter except in reverse
  3. lol I plan to hold on with one hand... 😱
  4. at least I wont care anymore and the wifes new boyfriend can deal with it..lol
  5. I think I m going to pull the engine cover, have wife drive it at 20 mph while i listen with a piece of hose . Try to isolate the noise that way.. Or fall out, get run over, die and solve the problem....
  6. with only 500 miles on it seems unlikely its a wheel bearing or U-joint.. There is no slack in any of them.. I checked.. and they were all spinning 15 mph on jack stands.. no noise. The noise isnt coming from a wheel, it sounds like a transmission noise, like a power steering pump or trans pump but its not fluid drive, its belt... If it was wet clutch it would make noise on take off or idle but it doesnt.. It starts about 5 mph and increase with speed...... its just more weird crap that only Massimo seems to suffer from .. I guess when it breaks , I ll know what it was. .................. Otherwise its running great.. I installed an adjustable temp switch [ from EBAY , $19 } into the circuit where the old radiator thermoswitch connected, with a probe to radiator . and set it to keep engine at 140-150 degrees now that winter is here.. seems to work just fine.. No more overheating issues since Yamaha parts installed . Starts instantly, idles perfectly, plenty of power on trails. 4 WD works fine ,,,,JUST THAT DAMN WHINING from under my ass .. annoying as hell..
  7. Well, I asked for help from Motorcycle Doctor that someone suggested.. They said jack it up on jack stands and run in gear to isolate noise.. seemed reasonable.. tried just rear wheels.. makes no noise, tried all 4 wheels off the ground... nothing.... not a peep.. just like revving in neutral.. NO NOISE! . put it back on ground and the whine is still there. in high or low range and 2 or 4 wd .. scratching my head...
  8. As you probably have now realized, if it says HISUN on it, you got hosed.. Even the rep at Massimo Motors told me they dropped HISUN engines last year because of so much problems and they wont even warrenty the ones they sold.. HISUN wont even talk to me... We are all just left holding the bag.. My Massimo with HISUN engine has spent 6 months of its first year in the shop on 6 visits... Parts are hard to get and warranty is non existent .. Most shops refuse to even work on them now.. They dont get paid ..
  9. !st rule of BBQ has always been the SIGN... outline of pig or just head... so so...... Complete Pig on sign...good.... Pig with hat better ... but PIG WITH PANTS...... HIT THE BRAKES.. YOU ARE THERE
  10. Well, I guess when it breaks 5 miles in the woods, I ll find out what is making the whine .. and you know thats when it will break , not unloading from trailer .. I m pretty sure its not the wet clutch or the gear assembly or bearings , because the oil is clear and clean ,no metal or clutch material in it, no burnt smell... and no noise at all idling or while revving engine .. so its in whatever turns with driveline.. but not coming from rear axle area..
  11. I believe so.. it use belts on tapered pulleys to change the gear ratio according to rpm vs load .. I hope the noise is just the belts humming
  12. lol Wee Fewl Yu brand ...lol is that a division of Trickem Dickem and Howe ?
  13. this whine starts at 3-5 mph and increases as you go faster in either LOW or HIGH gear positions.. . does not make it in neutral so its not engine , has to be in that CVT contraption..
  14. send both with rope.. my boat is large ..lolol
  15. Really? I was not aware. maybe it s not a big deal then... I sure hope so.......... but 500 miles on it without whine..seems odd it just starts now.. and you know how I have confidence in Jackassimo quality
  16. I need a new anchor for my boat... lol how much does it weigh?
  17. not yet... My ATV mechanic is out of town for 2 weeks .. seems like its coming from the CVT .. Continuously Variable Transmission section.. maybe the drive belts are already worn out at 500 miles? .. Would not surprise me.. Such poor quality parts in this thing .. just spent $1500 on it to cure the overheating .. I really regret the day I let my Dad talk me into buying it instead of the Honda Pioneer.. I now have as much in this one as the Honda sold for.. oh well... live and learn..
  18. lol well said.. the truly most bassackward company
  19. no, its fully engaged, pulls normally. no noise shifting into or out of gear or while idle in gear.. just a whine as you drive that increases with more power.. no noise in neutral or reverse .. sounds kinda like a power steering pump low on fluid.. but theres no power steering on it
  20. Well, overheating finally resolved.. 500 miles on MSU500 now , runs great... Heres the rub.. transmission seems to be making a whining noise in gear only .. increases with speed.. anyone got any ideas? Oil was just changed last month and is full and clear. Just cant express how happy I am with Massimo!!! NOT!!!
  21. On mine it has a vent screw at the pump and at the hose outlet on the head.. You must bleed out the air repeatedly from both as you add coolant with caps off .. if there is any air, the water will not flow .. you can drive it til the end of time and that air wont move by itself. You have to get it out ...Overheating is a major issue with Massimo ...
  22. I m sure there may be some that are trouble free .. But when the factory rep tells me on the phone that they dumped Hisun because they are "junk engines".. HIS WORDS ..... you really start to feel that you got hosed ...
  23. that starter was proudly built by the same guy who made my exceptional quality Hisun head gasket and head ..
  24. and people say I'm too hard on Chinese manufacturing? I also suggest you take your original to your local Automotive Electrical repair shop. Let them rebuild THAT one .. My local shop rebuilt a starter for $59 that Ford wanted $425 for new . Its been working for 6 years now
  25. its not just the windshield that vulnerable to windspeed , its also the top if you have one.. It will tear thru the 4 mounting screws and fly off . I built a reinforcement bracket on my MSU500 to support the front edge of the top and to reinforce the center ot the windshild .. I can tow at 75 mph without issue now
