Just wanted to post some FYI on CV boots:

Well, the only issue I have run into with my new long travel front suspension is my CV boots binding at full droop & full turn. They bound up so much so, that the last time I went to Moab my left front CV boot kept kicking off. So, I contacted Gorilla Axle and they sent me a pair of their long travel CV boots. Now, I gave them the dimensions of our axle and the salesman said the ones he was sending would work. Well, they showed up and they were tiny. So, with only a short time till Moab I looked in the parts/pieces thread and went down to the ol' Autozone and picked me up some 95' Geo Metro boots. The worked great! It is a uni-boot style that will fit a few different vehicles. They are thinner material than stock which is exactly what I was needing. However, that means they are more suseptable to tearing as well, but I am sure they won't crack like the stock rubber. With the stock boots when I would perform a compound angle on the CV it would pinch the boot. With these other boots I can feel the metal internals contacting instead of the boot. I am running Moab this weekend and I will update with more info after I test them.

Just back to CV boot topic, I had a torn right front CV boot. Ordered it from NAPA with the 6862181 part number for 95 geo metro. Good thing I took my old boot in. The one they gave me was MUCH smaller than my original. No way would it have worked. Was about 1/2 the size on the big end (small end might have fit over the axle). Autozones around me did not have one and so I went to O'rielly Auto Parts and ended up with a Dorman boot that was kind of a generic cut to fit boot that actually was just about perfect fit size wise though much thinner than the original which as mentioned might not be a bad thing. They also brought out a specific 95 geo metro boot that was very small like the one from NAPA. I am not sure if I have different sized CV or why this part was so different when seems to work for others. Just would recommend you take your old CV boot with for comparison if you are not sure!

like I mentioned in my original post, the cv boots I picked up were a type that would fit a few different models. I believe they refer to it as a uni-boot, because it is a universal application. you can cut the boot down to fit. I ran moab & a couple of local trails without a hitch, where the stock ones would bind. remember, I have about 3.5 inches of droop over a stock trooper & that is the reason I had to find another/thinner boot.

don't worry about questioning me. I see it as a positive to have a second oppinion, not a negative. my cv joints are not binding. it was just the boot. I may eventually move my diff a little more forward to cut down on some of the angle.

Hi, my 2010 Hisun will crannk but comes to a stop and only clicks.  It has new battery and solinoid. Battery connections all seem good. Any ideas what the problem is?

Just received delivery of a 2024 AMP Pro.  Thought I'd start a thread with my impressions as I use it and learn more.  There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of real-world usage information out there on this model.  Hope this will help others as they research.
      Intended Use Cases
Fire mitigation / slash removal from a 5 acre forested and well-gamble-oaked property.  The previous owners thought as much about fire mitigation as I do about fashion: not much. Snow removal Stump pulling General hauling (rock, lumber, etc.) Weimaraner energy depletion.  Wasn't an original use case, but a nice added bonus.  Experiences So Far
Wasn't impressed that two of the bumpers on the underside of the bed where it sits upon the frame were missing.  The metal on metal contact has damaged the powder coating and the frame.  I expect a little better QC.
I've only put a few hours on it, so not a ton to report on usage.  It isn't quiet; it's silent.  I can't even detect an electric note from the motor. I removed (and subsequently replaced) the motor cover noticed that the motor is German and made by Schambuller.  The motor controller is Italian and made by Dana TM4.  Given the operating specs of both I found on the web, I suspect both are higher quality than the previous Navitas (which is supposed to be decent).  The motor is rated at 25 hp and 71.5 lb-ft of torque.  It feels very powerful.  All the torque is delivered instantly, if desired.
The bed is huge and has an electric dump as standard.  Great feature but would like it to go up a bit more.  Probably not feasible from an engineering perspective, but I want and I need ;).
Power steering is nice, but vague.  Probably common to many UTVs, but I am accustomed to more direct results from input.  Plan early and plan often.
In our first full day of usage, we hauled about 1/2 as much slash as the entire rest of the year when I was doing it by hand cart.  I may get fatter, but I'll also get more done.  After a few days of usage, the battery meter has gone down by 1/10th.
      Until next time...

Riding out today it acted like it ran out of gas,  stalled and died and would not start.   Towed back to house,  New  plug added this past month,  plenty of oil, getting plenty of gas, battery cranks good.   Trys to kick in and starts but doesnt.   Two days prior while sitting at a idle it died.  Added gas and it started did my ranch chores with it.  But just now it stalled out cranks but will not start.   Tried to find if fault codes came up on the clock like manual says but not sure I am doing that right.  Any and all help apprecated.  Thank you

The Axis 500 will not shift into low or reverse.  I have high when it should be in low and all the other places it is reverse.  The gears in the shift cover are fine and I shifted it when the cover was off and yet no change (so it can't be the shifting mechanism gears).  I t has been difficult to get it into low for awhile.  But now it is either high or reverse, no neutral either.

I just bought a new 2024 Hison 550 Stryker 2 months ago. this is the second time I have had this issue.  It only has about 20 hours on it. The last time it happened we took it back to the dealer. it was a fuse.  Since we live three-hour time driving there and back. I would like to find another solution if possible.  I have tried all the fuses that seem to have anything to do with starting.  Currently checking the battery. The battery is new. it came with the unit. It is probably 6 months old.  the UTV has all power to everything electrical. lights turn signals and radio all work.  When trying the key to start . it is 100% dead. as in it doesn't even click.  There is a low whirring like the fuel pump is turning on though. The Unit was running and driving just fine.  we shut it down for the night. The next morning my wife found it in this condition.  Thanks for any Ideas or solutions???   Otherwise, it goes back to the dealer tomorrow. Just hope I didn't buy a lemon. Great little UTV when it does run.😅  anyone else ever have this Issue..?
