I have a 2011 Joyner Trooper and just changed my original oil and transmission lube to Royal Purple. Has anyone else done this and what kind of luck have you had? My trooper only has 50 miles on it and I love the way it looks and runs. My main use is at the deer lease although I would like to go muddin sometime.

Thanks

If I used the high end stuff I would break the bank. I believe quantity is more important than quality on these machines. So far, everytime I have changed my diff and engine oils there has been sludge. No isssues on the tranny oil. Royal purple is great stuff though.

I run castrol synthetic motor oil, lucas gear oil for the diffs and royal purple in the tranny my opinion I think the tranny feels smoother with it and I have had no issues under any conditioins

Charlie, how much fluid did you put in transmission? Is it atf or 75w-90 gear oil? I want to do royal purple in everything on trooper since i don't change fluids often here except for engine oil and filter.

Also how often do you all change oil in engine? In my truck i do 3k miles and on my prius i do every 10k miles,

My point is not all engine have same service intervals, my trooper have only 1100 miles now and i changed my oil when i got the trooper at 150 miles

I used a K&N oil filter don't remember the number. I replaced the transmission lube with 75W90 Royal Purple. I will let yall know after a few hundred miles when I change the filter what the oil looks like.

Thanks

I use 70-140 Royal Purple gear oil in both the differentials and the transmission. I use Mobile1 15w50 synthetic oil in th engine. I would change the oil in the diffs at 1000 km and then every 2500 km and the transmission at 2500 and then every 5000. The engine I'll change about 1000 km. My engine puts out 121 hp so I want to be extra conservative with it. The diffs seem to develope a lot of shinny particles in them so I think keeping them fresh is good. The upgraded diffs do have less contamination of the oil. The heavier oil is not going to hurt anything except maybe a bit of efficiency. With things not running as clean as our typical cars do, I rather have the extra cushion of the thicker oil. I also ride in the desert climate a lot and it can get real hot out. The thicker oil is going to help in the heat and that is why I run the 15w50 oil in the engine. This may be right or wrong but it is what I feel is the right thing to do. fI fill the diffs and transmission until it flows out of the fill hole.

If your really sharp, you'll follow my lead of what I did once on my truck. I got at least $30 worth of oil in the engine before I realized that I didn't put in the drain plug. My ADD catches up with me every now and then. Hard telling what kind of truuble I could get into if my wife didn't keep a good eye on me.

I did the 75-90w of royal purple in the tranny been in it now for about 300 miles or do no issues I plan on changing it around a thousand miles just for the hell of it. I plan on changing the oil every 1000 to 1500 that's what I did with my custom bike that sat and got played with like the trooper I'd rather be safe than sorry as far as my diffs go front I have had Lucas in since first 100 miles rear as well

I had a test printed out about 5 years ago on Royal Purple and a number of other oils. Because of my high performance motorcycles, I was very interested in quality oils. Royal Purple ranked low on a number of factors. I have the info back home in Canada and out of reach, but I do remember that Amsoil synthetic ended up being my choice.

I called up royal purple and asked for their sae/api certification ratings they said no they don't have any because it exceed the ratings so it shouldn't be labeled or tested at all.

Makes me wonder

Tinman got it right amsoil is the choice of semi truck fleet and taxi cabs fleet due to prolonged service intervals capable,

Amsoil also claim to make better air filter than k&n because it's a dry filter and only need be vacuumed to be cleaned.

Hope I posted this in the right place. Looking for the left side shaft carrier where the rear bearings go for an 1100cc sand viper, I understand an 800 cc carrier will also work. I need the old style two bearing with the spacer in the middle, the new style with just the one wide bearing wont work. If anybody has one I'll buy it right away. my email is [email protected]

If interested I also have an 07 1000rr engine setup I would sell with the buggy for $650.
      Thanks!

Hello. I have a 2016 Massimo MSU 500. I was putting on a lightbar and i screwed up and didn't disconnect the battery so when i was taking of the positive cable to put on the power from the lightbar it sparked and now the utv has no power. I turn the key over and all i hear is a chirp. No lights or anything. Everything that comes from the battery to the jumper box up by the battery shows voltage but anything coming out does not such as to the winch or anything like that

Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.
      Thanks so much!
