Are you getting power to the switch? Sounds like the wire carrying power to the switch is broken or not making good contact. Is there a fuse on the "hot" wire to the switch?

See if you have 12V at the starter when you hit the key. If not; guessing the selonoid. Yes;tap on starter with a hammer. Also make sure you are neutral everywhere.

Shouldn't be anything to do with the solenoid.  Solenoid would affect the starter but should not have anything to do with the lights not working. But you bring up a good point about being in neutral. Where are the safety switches located? Clutch, brake, shifter? Make sure those are making up.

Had to read the post again; didn't see lights n/w. Sorry! With no power; switch; fuses good; could be a bad ground

Evidently I'm the only one who has seen a open solenoid; O'Rileys sold me three of them; all were NIB.

@Vaughn switch has nothing but haven't checked switch wiring to see if there is power to it yet @TexasT key is dead no power when switch is in on position (no head lights or yellow diesel start light) I'm thinking this is my first starting point everything is in neutral @Travis I replaced the battery a few months ago with on that was way bigger than the original shortly after I added a winch with snow plow, winch works fine .. there is 2 main fuses both are fine there is 3 relays I have swapped them around and still nothing *** my first step or problem is why there is nothing at the switch all fuses are good there's a main fuse its fine I even replaced it thinking it may be broke an I couldn't see it but still nothing its a 2003 never had any problems till now I think I read where the switch should have a hot wire going to it always even with key off ..  I should say again I took starter switch apart it looked fine also .. I'll pop switch out today and check that first to see if it has power to it then I'll update again

popped switch assembly out, took switch off harness, no power on any wires, shouldn't there be power waiting for the switch to be switched on? I'm thinking yes how else could the switch work lol

this is the wiring for the switch because of the colors I have NOOO idea which could be the constant hot to the switch this I believe is my starting point the wiring harness is so dam tight it has very little if any play for me check where they go unless I start tearing the front radiator and other stuff off

Yes it does but I don't think its the switch.. I unbolted fuse box got all the tape off the wires took out main fuse bottom 25A an ran a jumper from batt to it I can get lights to come on when I turn the key to on .. I took out the top 20A that's called the regulator fuse not sure what that means when I turn key I can get the oil light to come on but no lights .. when I jump batt to either when turning the key on the glow plug light does not come on which it does when the key is turned on even if the motor is hot an just cut off .. deff lost now lol

should add before this happened even with park brake pulled or in gear 1 or both everything would work except starter, oil light, glow plug light, head lights but not starter until in neutral .. now when key is on nothing, no starter, glow plug light, oil light or head lights no power to fuse box .. kind of strange but there has to be a secret hidden something I'm just not seeing here

No. Of Positions 4
No. Of Terminals 7
Manufactured by Delta Systems Inc.
The letters on the back of an ignition switch stand for the following:
M = Magneto
S = Starter Solenoid
L = Lights
A = Accessory
B = Battery
G = Ground
I = Ignition
R = Regulator/Rectifier
The designated terminal connects in some manner to that component. For example, the B terminal connects in some manner to the positive battery cable.

I'm trying to figure out what color wire is the "hot" to the switch.  That seems to be where the problem is. It has to have a "hot"  to make every thing else work.

the problem I see now is there is no hot going to the switch at all I jumped it from the battery .. there must be a relay switch or something that is not letting power come the fuse box but even when I jumped the fuse box I still cant get the glow plug light to come on or starter to engage

25A fuse I was jumping to red not the red/black stripe I tried both red sent power to switch .. I'm not able to get to switch or the wires with 2 hands or even 1 hand just fingers without spending a lot of time tearing stuff apart just to get to the wires including the radiator and all that go's with it

      I bought a 2017 Stampede 900 last fall that was new, old stock with less than 5 hours on it thinking that I would be getting a relatively trouble free UTV as compared to buying a used Polaris or CanAm, or Honda, etc. It's been a little quirky, but reliable. What I thought was just a minor issue with this model, the difficulty in shifting between R, N, L, H, etc., was just a characteristic of this model is now a big problem. I had to climb two very steep trails to get to the upper meadow of our hunting property, which seemed to stress the UTV more than usual since I was carrying some lumber to work on a platform for a hunting blind, and when I went to shift into park, I felt something give and it would not shift out of low, but it did move up into high gear.  I couldn't get it to shift at all at that point and the shifter felt mushy for lack of a better word. I was able to get it down to the lodge and when I investigated, I discovered that the straight, metal tube portion of the shift cable had bent to almost 90 degrees (see pics). I'm positive that it had already had some deformation that had happened previously and it had the right amount of resistance to bend to the point where it was unusable.
      I have two questions:
      1. I suspect that there must be some other issues that makes this UTV difficult to shift, and I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if someone could enlighten me on what could cause this to be difficult to shift?
      2. Have any of you had this happen and if so, how difficult is it to replace the shifter cable?
      Any other advice is welcome, this is the first UTV that I've ever owned, so I don't know much about working on these or maintaining them. I'm relatively capable when it comes to working on my own vehicles in general, and I'm not afraid to take things apart and get my hands dirty.
      Thanks in advance for any insight, I'll be traveling most the day so I won't get a chance to look at replies until this evening.

      I just purchased a 2023 Honda Pioneer a couple of weeks ago and had the hard roof and a front Honda Pioneer windshield installed at the shop before taking ownership. As things are drying up here in NC, the grass and dust are beginning to fly right through the back of the cab while driving. I was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations on rear windshields, dust panels, or mesh screens to help stop this?
      Thanks a lot!
