Hi all, I am in the market for a Utv, I have really been thinking about the trooper, the question is if it is possible to add a rear bench seat or 2 beard seats like on a rhino. I like the trooper package but really want to add a rear seatfor my daughter and i dont want the lenght hat comes with the t4. Are there any rear seats offered or would i be able to add one, I am able to tig weld and have a full machine shop at my acess but am wonder if the seat would fit or if it would mess up the weight balance with people in it ?

Thanks Anthony

Well we went to Berts Mega Mall to take a look at them and we really liked what we saw. I am going to wait til after X-mas put am planing getting the T2. I will have it at my buddys sand car shop to build a rear cage, brush gaurd, adding to the front cage and building doors. I am also going to get with my friend who owns beards seats and see if they have something for the rear or see about building a seat to fit the trooper.

Be careful about putting things on the trooper you don't need, the car is already heavy. I am geeting ready to do my front shock mounts, i am going to get rid of some of the tubbing in the front tha you don't need. I lowered my rear diff so that is going to let me lower my radiator which will let me lower the rear deck for the rear seat. everything i do i keep in mind that i am trying to loose weight. If you are goingh to do anything, change the shocks, it makes a huge difference.

I want the back seat just to put my daghter in to cruise around but nothing crazy with her. I want the doors for a bit of saftey while thrashing in the desseret. the doors would only be a 3/4 or 1 inch thin wall tube as a frame and alumn skin.

Do ou have details about lowing the diff or whats required

you need some tubing 1 1/4 and some tabs so you don't have to use the old ones. cut the old crossmembers out, lower the diff with the drive-line hooked up, make shure you can get all the bolts out and start welding it back in. As far as the doors the trooper is not like most utv's it is pretty hard to roll and have your legs come out. Where you notice the extra weight is in the sand, try to keep extra weight off.

A WORD TO THE WISE, WHEN WELDING ON ANYTHING THAT HAS A COMPUTER DISCONECT THE BATTERY OR TURN THE MASTER SWITCH OFF.

That sounds really wise and like something easily overlooked, Thanks

I agree, i worked at a dealer and have seen it done, I also do alot of side work on hotrods and race cars and all batt are removed before welding. I would suck ti kill a $1000 worth of Msd stuff because you forgot.=, but have seen it done

I got the fronts adjusted.  I'm trying to raise the ride height in the rear, but my spanner wrench keeps slipping.  Is there an easier better way?  It's like there's too much pressure working against me to be able to twist the height adjusters.  How can I relieve that tension to make them easier to turn?

I have been searching and can't find much info on these units. Pretty surprising as every other thing I own I find a lot of info on. Researching for tech info and such it's like no one owns any of these yet I see them everywhere.

I have a Coleman 550.  Was having problems to start with where it would start and then shut off after a couple tries. It would take off and be good. It then got to a point where it would not start at all. I replaced the fuel injection twice the second time I replaced it I noticed a mouse or something had chewed one of the wires that connect the electrical to the fuel injector. . So two-part question first does anybody have a part number for that wire harness?  Second, any other ideas after I fix the wire harness permanently on what could keep it from starting I have gas flow up to the fuel injector.

I had been driving for about 15 minutes, everything fine. All of a sudden the engine was surging, losing power, would run with 1/2 throttle or greater and was backfiring badly. Luckily I was close to home and got it back. The tipoff to me was that I thought I was hearing intake noise. Sure enough, the rubber boot which connects the air cleaner and intake piping to the throttle body came loose. Obviously the computer was confused. It turned out to be an easy fix, but this is now added to my inspection list. Just thought this might help someone else.
