Hauling 9 5 gallon feed buckets is kind of tight for space in the dump bed, and if you need to carry a mineral block, extra feed and what not, that stuff won't fit in the glove the compartment!

So, here's what i devised.

i originally planned on having 2 simular pieces instead of 1, but i think this will do just fine.

the longest piece  is 40 7/8" and the 2 shorts are 13 1/2"

When not in use, either fold it straight up or it is easily removed in a few seconds by loosening the wing nuts, and then folding it up and tightening them by hand.

the bolts/wing nuts are through pre-drilled Factory  8mm (5/16") holes.

total cost is about $22 is flat stock 2 48" x1/8" x2" pieces, $2 for the wing nuts and bolts, and 1 welding rod and a half.

And of course, a welding job is not complete until you finish welding and you pick up the material where it's hottest......and drop it REAAAALLLLYY quick.

it also nice because the nuts for the tailgate cables and the holes in the side of the bed from the factory line up perfect so they also help support it.

Nice work, but I probably would've made it a drop in. Using square tubing, and the bed corner posts as a pocket. That way it could be stored out of the way, in the front corner tubes of the bed. Upright against the back "window", up against the screen. But as long as it works, it's all good.

Dunno about that. But I have outsmarted myself on occasion. Causing me to be amazed how stupid I can be sometimes. It's always fun when it costs money too lol.

Interesting to see what is approved while we are mostly talking about UTVs. Nice mod I may use a form of. My wife collects bowling ball size rocks and you don’t want them moving around.

I would suggest milk crates for holding a rock, or anything that might roll around. They're more  easily secured too.

Nice stone work.

Side note...If that's a typical flow there, then you've got enough to generate some free power. Even more so if there's a substantial drop from the source.

But with just what you have there, you could easily power enough lighting to nightlight that beautiful stone work. With a ten foot or so drop from the source, you could power most of the house.

I have a Coleman 550.  Was having problems to start with where it would start and then shut off after a couple tries. It would take off and be good. It then got to a point where it would not start at all. I replaced the fuel injection twice the second time I replaced it I noticed a mouse or something had chewed one of the wires that connect the electrical to the fuel injector. . So two-part question first does anybody have a part number for that wire harness?  Second, any other ideas after I fix the wire harness permanently on what could keep it from starting I have gas flow up to the fuel injector.

Bought a Coleman 400 UTV (pretty much a Hisun), the previous owner tried to replace the timing chain, couldn't time it properly and sold it to me. After some hours I figured out how the timing all is supposed to be set (I think/hope) and as I am reassembling, I noticed that the water pump gear was awfully hard to spin. I held the gear with my hand and spun off the impeller. I checked the bearing, spins great no obvious issues noticed other than this o-ring which seems to be out of place? When I remove this o-ring and reassemble the WP, it seems to spin nice and easy without a drag. I looked up the service manual (although very inaccurate info there often) and don't see this o-ring present. Am I missing something here or what? Any input?
This is not easy to access once the engine is back in the machine so would like to avoid having to deal with this if it becomes a problem.

having trouble with a 2013 uxv500i. have replaced stator due to bad pulser coil. new unit does not work. manual value for pulser coil is 100ish ohm, measured value is 500 ohm. can anyone with one of these fuel injected later model units check their pulser coil with an ohm meter for me? left side of engine small connector next to 3 yellows. jon 605-545-7040

I’ve been eyeing a Hisun 500 soft cab enclosure upper doors setup for my UTV, but I’m really not sure if it’s a smart move. The idea of doors and some protection sounds appealing, but I worry they might just be a flimsy afterthought — weak zippers, thin plastic windows, maybe leaking or fogging when wet or cold. What good is “protection” if it doesn’t seal well? Also concerned about ventilation: with soft doors, does the cab get too muggy or stuffy?
Anyone here use soft-cab doors on a Hisun 500 — did they actually hold up for real riding conditions, or did you end up ditching them for hard doors (or no doors)?
