    thats awsome
  2. Lenny I looked at a lot of your pics of you're trooper that is Awsome!!!!!!!!! The roll cage is incredible the fenders are cool to I bet you stay clean lol. Seeing that defiantly gives me motivation for mine. Thanx for all your advice today on my trooper, I took those spacers out like we talked and put them in front right behind the axle nut and torqued to 100lbs or so and to the next hole. Made quite a bit of difference in the front wheel/tire the right rear it helped to I'd like to see it tighter but I will keep an eye on it! I think the rest of the play is from the splines on the wheel hub and axle splines maybe little from the bearing. ANYWAY THANX A LOT
  3. wow Lenny thats a mouth full lol and thanx.. I am pretty sure the play is not in the balljoints but I will and can recheck it. I had my wife wiggle the wheel tire up and down while i watched and you could see the axle wheel anmd tire move as one up and down and if I held the axle at the hub you could feel it. How do you preload your bearing i had the wheel off a large pry bar between lugs to stop the spinning and my wife holding the breaks torqued the axle nut to about 90 ft lbs. Like i said with the wheel off the play doesnt seem as bad but with everything together I just feel like it should be better. and it concerns me. This is all being done with wheels off the ground vehicle not moving. I do work on cars and if this was on a automobile I would be concerned and the vearing would probally be loud. But on a car or most the the axle goes threw the bearing and outer hub all as one wich is much better. Lenny if you can you could callme I could maybe explain it better 508 789 0870 Im in ma its 1235 pm in the afternoon here now thanx charlie
  4. ok so what I have is stock 14" wheels 30" zilla tires, when the wheel is off and i grab the rotor to check for play it feels a lot less, then of cource when the wheel tires are back on it appears to be a lot greater!! Just kinda blows my mind how the hub with the stock bearing L/R is tight and the others not so. I dont have any noise from the bearingsd not that I can here when driving or rotating on a jack. So should I just park this thing dig deep and get new hubs I wanna say there like 136 each then new bearings to ugh. thanx
  5. ok guys heres one for you. I have some up and down wheel play in my wheels kinda like a bearing. I am pretty sure its NOT the bearing or hubs I have replaced 3 of the bearing with new tappered bearings and I put the new bearings back in with locktite and they did not just slide in the hub. I have one wheel that has no play at all and odly enough its the only stock bearing left in the buggy. I also hads 4 spacers made 2" outside diameter by 1 3/8 inside I put the spacer between the bearing and the hub and torqued to spec it helped some but not like I was hoping it would. Is this just normal I find it hard to believe that I have three worn hubs or spindles were the bearing sits. There only 950 miles on this its an 09 T2 any thoughts would be great charlie
  6. thanx Rocmoc and Banjo I assume your talking 6" travel in the front and 8" travel in the rear right????? Ya I saw some guys have some real nice work done on here with suspension but lack of fabricating skills and not a deep enough pocket to pay for it I gotta comprmise charlie

  8. hey guys I know theres a lot of info on here about shocks whats been done what worked, suspension mods and so on. I wanna upgrade my shocks soon some Im doing some research and looking at price. Im considering radflo shocks and if im correct it seems like on the forum a 2.0 with 8 inch of travel is a good idea. What I wanna do is basically get a shock that I can put in the stock location and I was thinking id go with an extra inch of travel to be safe. so what SIZE would you guys recomend that being said. I have read the info here on this site and I would do a crazy shock setup but I do not have the fabricating skills and there is only one shop in my area that could help and his price is insane thank u charlie
  9. Kinarfi blow off the nitrogen front and rear???? will that really help??
  10. put the new bearing in with the locktite and seemed ok tighter fit there is a little play but appears to be from the wheel hub spline area but all in all seema better. KINARFI/JEFF thanx fro the help on sat and advice
  11. ok I will do that thanx rocmoc I went threw the info on the forum quickly I understand how to remove it the rear was a piece of cake with the right tools. Lets hoipe its not the hub and just loose axle nut or bearing thanx anyother tips would be great
  12. Ok thanx ya I know if the bearing just slides out then its a hub issue.... I have been doing maintenance on it and I had the front jacked up theres a bit of movement up down and side to side and when I look at the axle from the other side while moving it it appears to look loose. I dont recall hearing any noise but I have also donr wheel bearings on nissan pathfinders and trucks that to much play and not any real noise. Im gonna check make sure the axle nut hasnt backed off at all as well. When I replaced my R/R wheel bearing I had a bit of play in it never really any noise that I had heard, and I use a large socket and hammer to knock it out of the hub then had to knock it back in the same way. Anybody know if the hub/spindle is expensive to replace. Thanx you guys for all the help
  13. will a tappered roller bearing from silverbullets work in the front hubs manual says same bearing all 4 corners I got some play in my front left but I have a spare rear??

  16. Hey guys anyone know if the joints in the end of the shocks are servicable?? I have been doing maintenance on my T2 and noticed that on my rear shocks that the joints have some play shocks are still ok!! I see a c-clip any idea or what would work

  18. Problem solved Talked to Casey at JMC ordered a new steering shaft and pinion gear for the steering box cheap to fix
  19. Hey guys first I apologize for spelling errors I'm writing this on my stupid smart phone. Had a ruff weekend with my trooper blew out a 30" Zilla tire and on my way home I lost my steering. Found that on the bottom side of steering shaft were it attaches to the steering box was loose. I was able to tighten the bolt and limp the t2 home. So today I pulled the steering shaft to inspect it found that the splines on the bottom of the shaft are a little rounded off not all the way threw though. The top side of shaft looks ok and the splines on the box look ok and my u joints on shaft font seem bad. So any thoughts has any one got a steering shaft??? I thought I read dome were on this forum u guys doing something to the steering shafts to make the a little stronger. Any help would be great I'm suppose to be taking the t2 to nh to go do some riding in 3 weeks. Here's my cell if anyone wants to call thanx a lot guys Charlie 508 789 0870
