  1. Rick, what have you come up with? I'm thinking that Brostar wants to come but needs lots time ahead to plan. Are the dates and location extablished for sure? If they are, could you please post them and show them as the final dicisions made on these issues. I know your busy cleaning your Trooper but I think that the only thing you can still do to get it cleaner is to use a dis-infectant on it.

    Lenny

Date and location are set.I need to speak to Cal the owner and set up how we are to make and pay the deposit.I did call them last week and left a message and have not heard back.I will call him again tomorrow.Yes been very busy but sorry to say not cleaning the Trooper.Cant clean it if it hasnt even been out on the trails since April.

  2. Engine was very tired, smoked when I bought it!!

    Huh

    Jose (from Silver Bullet)

told me some one on the UTV forum had done Silver Bullets piston & cam kit on a Sand Spider 650 already & posted of his build, and outcome.

    ?????????????????

Wow quess Im not welcome here ?

    Huh !!

yes you are welcome. Not many here with that buggy but will see what we can do to help.We need to move your topic down under the joyner portion of the forum.

  3. I am headed to Havasu this week. I leave on Thursday and will be there for a week or so. I won't have my Joyner, but I will have my dad's rzr4. Let me know if any of you guys will be there also.

I should be going there on the night of Friday the 11th and leaving on the 13th if your still there will hook up.

  4. Found the cause. The master cylinder for the Left front & Right rear is not releasing all the way. I have to put my toe under the pedal and pull the pedal to get the brakes to release. I have done this for a couple of days hoping it would correct itself with use but doesn't seem to be working. Anyone else have any tips or tricks before I remove and replace?

What is the logical of crisscrossing the brakes instead of front on one cylinder and the rear on the other?

If I go into the brake system I am going to change to front & rear instead of the crisscrossing while I am working on the master cylinder. I will be able to put more bias on the front brakes.

Always something, get one thing fixed and something else appears.

Finishing on a positive, REALLY loving the power steering !!!!!! The more I drive it, the more I like it.

for only a temporary fix how about putting a spring on it? to pull pedal back.

  5. I found swing arms and bought pair from silver bullet motor sport it was much much cheaper than I thought and stock not the chromoly set but its the newest version though. I also ordered a higher cfm fan while at it because my engine over heat when I go 55-65 mph for over few miles because I drive on gravel roads to my family houses and its about 10 miles or more on backroads because Iowa doesn't recognize trooper as street legal oh well.

One more question do any of you have oil pressure gauge all good st first start up then after engine get warm u drive around and then stop and idle engine the oil light come on and gauge show almost no oil pressure I been wondering about that anyone have that happen to you too?

what is your idle RPM when that happens? idle should be around 900+/- 50

  6. No not the wife, the Trooper. Been looking for a while at enclosed trailers and finally picked one up this past weekend. Its a Ultra Hauler 22' with built in cabinets, awning, exterior lighting, fuel station, water tank, and it came with a craftsman tool box. Had to remove the roof rack on the trooper to get in in but will modify it so she will fit. Now just gotta get some time off to get out and use it.

  7. Kinarfi, tires would hit the swing arm. Would be difficult to do with the independent config we have. Steering BRAKES would be the way to go. Good for everything but hard surfaces.

Rick, maybe a articulated body for the T4 would be easier.

    rocmoc n AZ

I think i will just stick to the what i do now in tight situations, the wife gets out and lifts the rear end to manuver around the tight spots.(LOL)

  8. We seem to be an inventive bunch! how hard would it be to put the front hubs on the rear so we have a steerable rear wheel? Would that make for some tight turns?

    Kinarfi

    Kinarfi,

Now that we may have the front steering issue resolved you want to tackle the rear????(LOL) Whats next a convertable top??? HHMMMM..maybe not a bad idea...(LOL) the rear wheel steering would really benifit the T-4.

  9. Well I did it a little different but basically in the same location as Rick's. I noticed the u-joint end of the short Steering wheel shaft mounted under the dash had a LOT of extra length not being used. I cut the excess off and used it as a nipple between the u-joint connecter provided for the output for the steering unit and the existing u-joint connector on the end of the LONG shaft. I used the other provided connector between the input shaft of the unit and the short steering wheel shaft. I had to cut the two pieces (one slides into the other) of the LONG shaft to get the correct length between the rack & pinion and the power steering unit. Was really easy requiring no welding. Three cuts and bolt it together. Little grinding on the ends so the bolts slide in the connector on the ends and a little grinding so the connector would slide on the nipple and short shaft. Just have to make the bracket (using aluminum diamond plate that was on-hand) and plug in tomorrow. Don't want to over work myself.

Geniuses do think alike(lol) i originally thought of doing something like that but again my preference was to be able to remove the unit and go back to original just in case.Your way would have been my second choice because of ease.Hope you get us some photos.

  10. Gosh Rick, seeing that picture of your install a few post above makes me think you need to throw a little dirt into the works. Are you sure you ever had your Trooper off road. NIce install.

    Lenny

thats cause of the great job the wife does cleaning it with a toothbrush after every trip.MINE!!!

  11. Thanks Rick, that is the shaft I am talking about. I know one other person process and I am looking at what will work best for me.

    Thanks again,

    rocmoc n AZ

Your welcome.Reason i cut the tube in half and used the pipe to extend it is i am going to cut the remainder of the tube off the stock u-joint and weld a 12" long 3/4" pipe on it and the tube on the end of it.That way if i ever have to remove the power steering unit this shaft will slide right on to the stock shaft from steering box as before and u-joint will go onto end of steering wheel shaft.Hope that made sense.

  12. Rick, how did you connect to the Long shaft. My connectors supplied with the unit is too small. Did you weld directly to the shaft?

    rocmoc n AZ

I assume you are talking about stock long shaft down to steering box.I cut the stock oval flat sided tube in half, welded(i think) 7" long 3/4" black pipe on u-joint they sent with unit and welded the flat sided oval tube i cut on to end of pipe.See photo.

  13. The white wire needs no fuse, no circuit breaker, nothing! it is only a signal wire and carries no current, put a switch in if you want to use that to turn off the steering with that method, or put a circuit breaker in the red wire/power wire.

    Kinarfi

thats correct.thats why i was questioning why to put a 20amp breaker on there if he just wants to turn the unit off while he is at high speed.why not just a toggle switch on the white wire to do that?

  14. I have a 2008 Joyner Renegade R2 and have a couple of parts that I have found that work. Maybe they could be put on the list for replacement parts.

Front wheel bearing kit is a Moose Racing through a parts unlimited dealer 0215-0076 retail 32.95 fits Artic Cat but I have used these in my Renegade comes with bearing and seals for 1 wheel.

Differential axle seal 35x55x8 double lip found on ebay 10 for $35

    Oil filter Fram ph3593a

If anyone needs a new alternator but dont want to pay $180 for a Joyner brand. I used 14971 $100 from autozone and fabricated a braket from some old joyner brake pads and a longer belt 4pk0800. Works good. It has a 3 wire plug but just used the 2 wires from original with spade connectors.

I also have some Can-am commander lower ball joints on order. They measured close on the vehicle but I will get back to you on that.

The spark plugs are the same as trooper I used the NGK iridium plugs but don't have that written down.

Great info, keep it coming.Thank you

  15. I will start working on my install tomorrow. I have to do the lay out, maybe a few removal of pieces and may have to travel to get metal if I don't have it in my stock before I can go full speed.

Where did you all tie into for electrical current, ignition switch?

    rocmoc n AZ

I have the 2nd battery located under the hood so i went straight there with the pos & neg.tied the white wire that goes to the switch to the yellow wire at the four wire harness plug that goes up to the ignition switch. On brohaws we tied the pos & neg to the wire connections for the winch,it has a good connection points there.

  16. And as always I will whine, p*ss & moan then fall in line and have a GREAT time, LOL ! Your the man, tell us when !

    rocmoc n AZ

finnally got a response from Cal at glamis north KOA.the weekend of the 20th -22nd currently looks good.I will be speaking to him again tomorrow but we may have to all make the reservations real soon to lock in the dates and sites.will let you know more tomorrow.
