  1. I'am having problems with my T2. I may need an ECU, are you interested in parting it out and how much?

    lowgear,

fill in your profile and let us know where your located.Maybe we have someone nearby that you could switch ECU's with just to see if that is your problem before you purchase another.

  2. thanks for all the replies i disconnected the ox sensors and removed the cat long ago. the idle air control has also been disconnected. i have had all the elec. con. apart and cleaned. the tps has been replaced along with the map, speed, and coolant sensors, also the fuel pump. i moved the fuel filter to just past the pump, and the fuel line from the tank is now 5/8 id line. the map sensor was the last to be replaced and the surge got worce go figure. the rpm's go up then back no blubber or any other condition happens when it surges. to me it seems like timing jumping because it is so quick. i disconected the idle sensor long ago because with it con. the idle would jump up to 3000to5000 rpm. i could not find that problem either. the fuel pressure does not change when it surges. do you have any more suggestions

I am by far no expert and dont have much knowledge but could the ECU be confused because of all the sensors being disconnected ?

  3. Not familiar with that brand but it looks like it would be fine based on looks. Thats easy to say because they all look like the Bosch. Hardto tell what is a knock off and what is not. The price is good enough you could buy 2 and have a backup.

    Lenny

what is the PSI rating on it?

  4. Last Jamboree I rolled over the greatest distance traveled prize money. Now it appears Lenny is going to beat me out this year. The last 3 Jamborees I have traveled the greatest miles, this year only 388 miles. So Lenny, are you going to forgo the prize money to attract someone else to attend? I do think there has to be a minim miles traveled since the location is so close to a metropolitan area. Rick & his Beach Buddies have it too easy, a few hour pull. Heck my fuel alone is going to cost around $350. So I think there should be a 250 mile minim. What ya think or have I ticked everyone off?

Lenny, do you remember how much the prize money is? You and I put it up and I think it was $20 apiece. I will add another $10 this year (the economy is worst this year) for a total of a $30 contribution to attract someone with a long haul.

    rocmoc n AZ

I will throw in $20 this year.

    Rocmoc,

Yes you did tick someone off.Its Rick and his Beach "Bunnies" not buddies....(LOL)

  5. well maybe I can make it out , would be intrested in riding with more guys with troopers and seeing the mods. I could tent camp if the wife will allow me to go riding without her and the kids

yes that would work.they do have a tent area but maybe we can slip you into our area since the sites are so large.I see your not too far from me, im in yorba linda and so is bruhaw.

  6. has anyone heard of a engine surge between 2000 and 3000rpm any gear under light or constant throttle. i have checked every thing that can be checked. i have even replaced some of the sensors trying too find the problem. HELP jim

You say you checked everything. Does that include fuel regulater and fuel pump? when you say surge does it loose power and then surge or keep same rpm and surge to more rpm?

  7. What a delight to drive. Easy on the hands since the power steering was added and quieter. Only one noise remaining, trying to get as quiet as Lenny's except for is whizzing of the Supercharger, and getting really close. The only remaining noise as I bounce, rock & roll down the trail is the rack & pinion. One way or another that will be gone in next year's projects. Finally becoming pleased with the machine!!!!!! I have a new signal light flasher and will install over the weekend. Took a ride before quest arrived and we sat down to eat. Going for another ride over the weekend!

We went up Thursday morning to Johnson Valley and met up with bruhaw and some of his freinds.Great people and had a fantastic time.Did some night riding Thursday and Friday night and came back this morning.Invided them to come to our jamboree in April and at least one showed some real interest. This was the first time i had the trooper out since i installed the power steering.WOW,, what an improvement, even in 4x4 with lockers it really made it much easier.Gotta be the best money spent thus far on it.

  8. Definitely NOT, It has an end of travel switch that shuts off the motor when it has done it's job. A toggle switch would burn the motor up if you didn't turn it off right away.

If you pull the motor, send it to me and I'll see if it can be rebuilt and salvaged, Mine failed, so I took it apart, fixed it, and siliconed really good so it couldn't get water in it.

    Kinarfi

i thought it was the dash switch is was looking for, if thats the case would a toggle switch not work??

  9. Wouldn't be too bad after I took the parts I want, diffs, trans, motor, swing arms, axles, brake pads and a few more items. LOL, heck it sounds like I need to keep most of it. Things like gauges, body parts, gas tank, switches, cage, frame tube and the like are the things I would sale. My luck would be as soon as I sold a fender I would crunch one of mine on the Trooper and would be hunting for a replacement my sale at FULL price. Pricing is the tough part in my mind. Always tough to do business with friends. Want to give it away but ya can't. One thing is sure it is taking up valuable inside storage that would be nice for something else. Staring to feel like a hoarder or one of those guys the American Pickers would like to visit.

    rocmoc n AZ

Now you need to add another selection on your poll voteing, Give it away.(LOL)

  10. 99.9% complete. I have since bought most of the missing parts. BUT I have so many projects and other interests it will be YEARS before I would ever get it together. It is stored inside so no problem with weather. Time is the biggest limiting factor. I bought it because as I have posted, at some point I have to modify my swing arm hubs or install the new ones that came on this T2. The T2 is brand new never registered. Was bought from Joyner with parts missing.

    rocmoc n AZ

If it would not be much trouble to get it registered i would put up a third option. Sell it. If it was to take years as you say to get it together why waste it on just sitting letting what value there is to drop and maybe you will never get to it. Also If you part it out then you might end up spending as much time dealing with selling all the parts as you would if you had just gone ahead and put it together. (JMHO)

  11. I have a nearly complete second 2009 Joyner Trooper T2. I originally bought it for parts but when I got it home because it was so complete started thinking of putting it back on the road. (Like I need another project) What would you do? If I parted it out the parts would not be cheap as I did pay a pretty good sum for the thing.

    rocmoc n AZ

Need to ask, before giving my thought.

you say "nearly complete" what is it needing? (i remember when you got it cause i went to jump on it but you had snapped it up. cant remember what it needed)

  12. This is what we have decided to do,

We will arrive at Supersition near El Centro, CA mid-afternoon Sunday April 15th. This will allow riding Sun, Mon, Tues & Wed. We will move to the KOA Thursday morning early. If after we are Supersition for a couple of days we could always move over earlier. We will be at KOA until we have to leave for LA Saturday afternoon. Will return late Sunday afternoon pickup the Trooper & Trailer. We would like to move to Ehrenberg, AZ Sunday night but if it is too late we will just dry camp the night at Slab City. We will then move on to Ehrenberg early the next morning. We will stay at Ehrenberg till at least April 25 and possibly the 26th. ALL dry camping / boondocking except the time at KOA.

That is the plan and hope you can join us.

I will be calling the KOA today to make our reservations.

    rocmoc n AZ

If when you call and speak to Cal you might ask him about the permit, I dont think it would be needed even if we were to take a trip down to the dunes.

  13. Rick,

Are we going to need a Dunes Pass because of the proximity being near Glamis Dunes? A Dunes Pass is NOT required at Superstition or in AZ. I know you have to have a off-road sticker and California recognizes other states such as AZ & UT. How heavy is enforcement? My past experience is CA is not a State to mess around with as they will ticket you big-time!

Also anyone is welcome to join us at the other locations.

    rocmoc n AZ

I been to the KOA about 5 times and never needed a pass. From what i understand the pass is needed for a primary vehicle to enter the Imperial sand dunes area.We will be about 30 miles or so North. Not sure if a pass would be needed if we were to take the canal road down there to the dunes or not. I have sent a message to the KOA to clarify that for us.

  14. Sorry Rick, I've deleted some messages so you should be sweet now.

    Cheers Mike.

    Brostar,

Just tried agin and message will not go through.I just wanted to make sure you got the latest info. Also wanted to give you the details about the ATV rentals if you needed them. They have two places they recommend to rent ATV's from. The first is a place called rentrtoyz.com and they are in Anaheim Ca 714 240-7666,they also rent RV's from what i understand and the other is from a guy by the name of Bobby from what they told me and his number is 714 296-2303. Hope you can make it in April.

  15. Kinarfi, I didn't do it. Slab City, http://www.slabcity.org/ is about 15 miles or less as the crow flies but I don't know if there is a direct route along the canal there. You can dry camp there for free.

I am also going to Superstition near El Centro , http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/california_05663/ride_562e.htm , before Rick's Jamboree and Ehrenberg Sandbowl between Blythe & Quartzite, http://www.go-arizona.com/Ehrenberg-Sandbowl-OHV-Area/ after Rick's Jamboree. I will say upfront we have to leave Sat early afternoon of the Jamboree and will return Sunday late afternoon. I have already worked it out with the KOA for us to leave the Trooper & trailer there as we have to run into LA. We have not decided yet if we will just come back to pick up the Trooper & trailer and move on to Ehrenberg or stay the night. We will be arriving Wed or Thurs at the KOA coming from Superstition.

    rocmoc n AZ

i made my reservation for Friday-Monday as of now but am trying to get off to come Wednesday night or Thursday morning.Glad they worked with you on leaving the trooper overnight, thay are real nice people there.

  16. uhh rick, that's good info, but what are the dates? 20 to the 23 of what month, April 2012? That would be Fri to Mon.

Never mind, looks like MR. Rocmoc got the job done, good going!

    Kinarfi

Got a question, what if you're a poor old cheapskate and/or don't want to spend the 108 or 216, can you just drive off into the surrounding hills and camp? or does that get you some kind of a ticket or fine?

As for me, I have not decided to come as of yet, probably won't.

I put the dates in the topic as requested, April 20th - 23rd. If anyone wishes to come early or stay later that can be accomadated also. There is places in the desert to stay, closest would probably be slab city about maybe 7 miles or so to the south. They also have two places they recommend to rent ATV's from. The first is a place called rentrtoyz.com and they are in Anaheim Ca 714 240-7666,they also rent RV's from what i understand and the other is from a guy by the name of Bobby from what they told me and his number is 714 296-2303. I will PM Brostar this info also.

Tried to pm brostar but his box is full.If anyone can reach him let him know to check this out. Thanks,

  17. Okay here is what you need to do if you plan on attending. Go to www.glamisnorthkoa.com web site, click on the reservation tab. Then click on the "reserve your site online" tab. Fill in your reservation dates and details and click next. Scroll down to the third from the bottom which will be Facing patio double group sites and click the select button to the right. That will take you to the page where you will need to give your credit card info to leave a deposit. You will see the total amount for the site for the days you plan on staying. You will be required to leave a deposit for half the amount.Remember once you get there and check in you will only be charged for half the site. For example if you plan on being there Friday the 20th and leaving Monday the 23rd your total will show $218.18 and will be asked to leave a deposit of $108.55 so once checking in you may not owe anything more.(hope this makes sense). On that same page you will see a box near the bottom to write in any special requests. You need to put in there that you are part of the utvboard group and also include the screen name you use here on the forum. If this sounds to complicated(which it does to me and i already made my reservations) then you can also call them at 760 354-1010 and make your reservations, just remember to tell them you are with the utvboard group.

  18. I sure do! Was driving to Nogales, AZ, on the border, to home depot. As I drove I was thinking of how everyone else had grew-up, but I didn't. As you grow older is is so hard to find fellow SUPER active friends. I have several other Hyper-Active friends but they are in other parts of the world. Currently everyone around me is not and it is a bummer. Great home deals currently in a great location here if any other Hyper individuals are thinking of or are about to retire and thinking of relocating to somewhere else, LOL! ALL THO we take off in the winter as anything under 70 degrees is unacceptable. Just venting after having an Long Island Ice Tea, it is 5:00 somewhere as Jimmy Buffet would say!!!!!

How many do you drink before you slip into your green tights, Peter ?? Or should I call you Mr. Pan ?? (LOL)
