  1. Since all my riding has become so comfortable and trouble free lately (?) I decided to put tunes in the T-2 for some added entertainment (and my wife made me do it!). This unit from VDP contains speakers and amplifier, just plug in the Ipod and the line to the battery and it is done. Seemed like a good compromise on cost vs quality ($350). Sounds as good as can be expected without a subwoofer and it installed pretty easily. Just thought I would share.

    Looks real good.

  2. Adding an interposing Starter Relay.

Ok, lets see if we can make this easy. Just get a standard aproximately 1" cube 4 terminal automotive relay, they are real cheap and you can get it at any automotive parts store. The wire from the Troopers stock relay that goes to the starter should go to terminal 85 of the new relay. The terminals are numbered on the relay. Terminal 86 should go to ground. Run a heavier than stock wire, #16 gauge from the battery to terminal 87 on the new relay and the same gage wire from terminal 30 to the starter solenoid. You can mount the relay about any place you want.

Battery +12v to ---------------------------------terminal 87 of relay #16 wire

Old wire that went to solenoid----------------terminal 85 of relay #16 wire if extention is needed

Wire from engine ground to ------------------terminal 86 of relay #16 - #20 wire

Wire from terminal 30 of realy to ------------starter solenoid # 16 wire

    Do not use 87

It is recommended by me that you solder the wires to the relay terminals to avoid the problems that have been created by the use of slip on connector in other areas.

  3. Hey guys been a while since Ive been on here hope all is well. Question for you guys is there a cross reference number for a starter for the T2 I already did the whole really thing that Kinarfi was great explaining worked great for a while relay is clicking looks like I still got good ground and power so I am thinking starter is just not doing the job. So is there another starter out there that can be used or do I need to get it from joyner??

you may be able to have yours rebuilt. I saw this add on craigslist but never purchased from them.

  4. would the trooper diff bolt into my commando? Or is the gear ratio different?

dont think it would work. I think rocmoc is suggesting that his trooper diff (if you were to swap with him) would be easier for you sell because there is more of a demand for them.He is looking for a renegade diff.

  5. Did you get the Lowrance you asked me aboutthat is simular to mine. Mine will take a SD memory card but I havn't used it yet. There should be a way to move the files to that and then load them onto a computer.

Detbohica, we could set up a track for you to race around at the Jamboree if that would help.

    Lenny .

Yes, I got the HDS-5 Baja. They dont come with much in the way of trails already loaded.Thwy recommend getting the Mapcreat 7 but only trouble is that is no longer available.I bought a card with some trails of the west on it and it does help.I am learning the ins and outs of it but this being my first its all greek to me.(LOL)

  6. Do use a GPS and if so, do you save your tracks? If you have a .gpx file from your ride, I would like to see it.

    Kinarfi

Yes i have saved my tracks.i have a new gps and just figureing it out.If i can find out how to do as you ask i will be happy to forward it to you.

  7. Lenny,

I to would like to wish all a very safe and Happy New Year.Wish all could make it to this years jamboree as you said,I am sure it will be enjoyable.Just came back after spending 2 1/2 days there mapping out some trails. I put about 350 on the trooper during that time and one day alone we put over 120 miles on it following one trail(LONG DAY).
