  1. Rick,

Is the group camping the sites all the way to the rear of the campground on Dog Patch Lane? If so, the owner said there were 4 hookups per site. In looking on GoogleEarth, it will be a tight fit if we have a lot of big rigs. Should we do a poll/question as to how large people's rigs are.

I will be in a big rig, 50 feet long without my trailer ramps extended. 108 inches wide without my stairs out and awnings open.

Not trying to be a pain but I don't want to get there and not be able to fit.

    rocmoc,

site is 55'x180', each rig pulls in from opposite direction and are side by side.see link below to KOA map of site. That photo on google earth is an old one(at least the one i saw zooming in)the layout of the sites look different now.

    Lenny,

Bring the chain saw, we will chop off the hot tub from the back of rocmocs rig so it will fit.(LOL)

  2. Was out at Glamis North KOA this past weekend and on the way back from the Bat Caves after dark Saturday i started smelling gas.Got out and found a hole in my fuel line before the filter(mine is located after the pump below the regulator). Luckaly the hole was aimed perfectly out the drivers side towards the rear wheel and not back towards the engine.I had plently of slack in the line so i was able to just cut off the section with the hole and re-connect the line to the filter. This is not the stock fuel line, i replaced with fuel line purchased from auto zone about two years ago. Will be going in and replaceing all again this week.I know we have alot of pressure on the lines but should they not last longer? As you all know i dont get out that much so its not like i have tons of miles and hours running on it. Not from the weather either.Mine is always garaged.

  3. A 'heads up' for those men who are regular customers at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, or even Wal-Mart. This one caught me totally by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

    Here's how the scam works:

Two nice looking, college-age girls will come over to your car or truck as you are packing your purchases into your vehicle. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. (It's impossible not to look.) When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No,' but, instead, ask for a ride to McDonald's.

You agree and they climb into your vehicle. On the way, they start undressing. Then, one of them starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen Jan. 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, again on the 17th, 20th, 24th, and the 29th. Also, Feb. 1st, 4th, 7th, twice on the 8th, five times in March already, and very likely again this upcoming week.

So, tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of men. Warn your friends to be vigilant.

Wal-Marthas wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found even cheaper ones for $0.99 at the Dollar Store and bought them out in three of their stores. Also, you never get to eat at McDonald's. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth from Lowe's, to Home Depot, to Wal-Mart.

So, please, send this on to all the men that you know and warn them to be on the lookout for this scam.

(The best times are just before lunch and around 4:30 in the afternoon.)

    Leaving for Home Depot now!

    A little April 1st humor

I saw this on another forum and had to post it.

  4. If Charlie takes 2 and Rick 1, thats 3. No deposit but how about instead getting me the winning lottery ticket for the 1/2 billion $. Somebody and all there kids, future kids, grand children and great grand children are all going to become worthless contributors to life. Seems like we would do much better to give 10,000 people $50,000.00 each. Sorry but i'm not a fan of people having an excessive amount of money while other good people struggle.

Lets get a few more kit buyers going and I'll make some more.

    Lenny

    Lenny,

Winning ticket is in the mail.Hope you have an honest mailman..(LOL)

  5. I don't see the problem. Your Trooper is running, weather is great, you are out riding having fune & the rest of us are at home. So there are some flies in you way, show them what you can do!

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

funny thing is not sure most of them even run.We went out yesterday for 3 hour ride and didnt see a one out on the trails. Just got back from a 4 and half hour ride and saw 4 on the trails. Only see them driving around the campground. Anyone sure those things can go on trails???LOL) Weather is great, getting some lunch and going back out in a couple hours.

  6. wife and i finnally got the chance to get away for the weekend and do some riding.Called North glamis last week and they were booked up.Cal had a cancellation and got me the spot. We got here yesterday around noon and what do i find??? its sold out because of the RZR Rally....rzr,s rzr's everywhere....weather is nice,

  7. WELL! I have had a shower, lunch and some HAPPY Juice (5 o'clock somewhere) and I am closer to my HAPPY Place. I will get this thing fixed and be at the Jamboree. I like to play not repair.

What did other people do about a replacement? Just in case the alt is bad and can't be repaired. No one has really shared a solution.

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

did you disconnect batterry while engine is running? that would at least tell you if alt. was putting out juice.if it isnt engine would die.correct?

  8. Rocmoc is correct. Anything you do will help but you are at risk until it is done properly. Gear alignment is a serious problem. If I can get enough people wanting to buy kits, I will build more. Last time, a lot of people said they wanted them but after I did a batch, only a few actually bought them. Took a lot longer to sell out then I expected. If I can get orders for 10 kits, I will go ahead and build another 40 kits. Let me know.

    Lenny

    Lenny,

I'm afraid i may have been one of those who said they would take one and didnt.I do need another for the front so if you want a deposit or full amount up front before you make a batch i will be happy to do that. That might be the best route to make sure you sell what you have to.Thank you,

  9. Spent the past weekend in Tucson, AZ visiting my wifes sister and brother snd spouces. I took the time to go down and see Rocmoc with the idea that hopefully he would have time to ride. Needless to say, I didn't have to bend his arm. He was anxious to get out and ride. For both of us, it has been about 4 month since any real rides. This was the first real trail riding I've done since all the upgrades I have done. Things like different seats, glass windsheild, new winch, extended front skid plate, new roll cage and most important, the final dyno tuning. The trails at Rocmocs were great with lots of good hills on which to try out the new power. We were running some pretty tough hills in not only 3rd gear but also in fourth. Lots of power. Don't need any more. In forth gear, the locked rear still brakes loose and starts to slide around a bit.

I also got a chance to see Rocmocs house project. Very impressed. The work he has done so far has been well thought out and executed professionally. When his place is done, it will be very elegant and liveable. Sorry to say, but unfortunately, he still has a lot of work to do. But, it will be well worth it. He has taken on a good sized project and a lot of work has been done. The potential is already showing thru. Looking forward to seeing it when it's done. Keep up the good job Mike.

That was Saturday. On Sunday I got a chance to ride a portion of the Rancher trail system north of Tucson. Rocmoc told me it was good and he was rtight. This was one of the best trails I have ever been on. Tricky terrain a good portion of the way. Wow, what a great ride. Didn't get the chance to do any hot dogging because I had Jeannes 77 year old sister 'Carol' and her 80 year old husband 'Elmer' with Alzheimers loaded. Jeanne and her sister were in the back on the deck. I needed to take it real easy. It tool 3 of us to get Carol in the back and 4 of us to get her out. She is over weight and not too mobile anymore. When back, Carol immediately started calling family to tell about the exciting ride her and Elmer had on the Trooper. Gosh, we had to talk them onto going to begin with. They thought they couldn't do this kind of stuff anymore. They were thrilled.

Got back monday night and today is time to get caught up on the forum and throw in my 2 cents worth.

Thanks Rocmoc for a good time.

    Lenny

Welcome back.Glad to hear all went well.Looking forward to seeing your mods next month.

  10. I'm not making promises but I will try to come for a day trip if possible. Once I cross the border it is an hour and 30 minutes for the Jamboree. I want to see what everyone has done to there's since mine is close to stock still.

That would be great, hope to see you.

  11. I upgraded my spare rear diff which is a 09 last summer and it had the clips. Yes it had the clips but the tolerances were way off. The pinion gear did not align correctly on the ring gear. The upgrade was completed with Lenny so I know it is correct. Personally there is only one real upgrade and that is Lenny's. I am completing the upgrade on the matching spare front diff now with Lenny's kit. I have to install the 09 upgraded diff in my Trooper before the Jamboree and will have the front along as my spare. I will install the front diff sometime this summer. You can't just look at the clips and be assured the diff is correctly built. You have to pop the pumkin and look at the alignments & tolerances.

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

    rocmoc,

thats what i was getting at when i refered to my 09 having joyners upgrade. I think all they did was replace the bolts and install the clips. Not at all like lennys.

  12. It is worth the trip to the Jamboree just to see Lenny's mods to his Trooper. I had the chance to drive it today and ride with him a bunch. Suspension & power is unmatched by ANY Trooper. We went over rocks & thu creek cuts that were HUGE. If you can make it to the Jamboree just to see his rig it is worth it. Very very nice!

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I was very impressed when i saw it last year when we met in Havasu.cant wait to see all the other mods he has made since.

  13. Somebody else correct me if I am wrong but Joyner did not have upgraded diffs until AFTER 09 and I not sure if they every had an upgrade really. They were out of buisness by the time all the diffs started to fail.

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I bought mine in December 09. I know they were still in business into Jan-Feb of 2010 because i had ordered parts from them. I went to Tempe in March of 2010 for some spring training baseball games and while there i hooked up with Casey at his house and bought parts from him and joyner had just shut down. One of the items i bought was a spare diff and it had what they are calling joyners upgrade in it.The diff in my trooper had the same..

  14. The stock 09 diffs did not have the upgrades. I have been careful with mine since 08 but am upgradeing the rear before the Jamboree and will do the front soon after. The problem is tolerances & alignment of the gear set in the diff. Lenny is a much bettter responder. He may not answer for a couple of days.

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

    rocmoc,

i bought my 09 with only 9 miles on it.It has the ''JOYNER" upgrade in it,no comparision to lennys.

  15. UPDATE after almost two years of picking this thing apart i found out what was causing my intermitant power loss or limp home mode the factory had my O2 Sensors hooked up backwards so finally it runs as it should thanks for all the help

    glad you hung in there.

  16. Since Lenny is busting my chops, I haven't made reservations yet due to stuff going on, but I am optimistic that I will be able to make it....

I really need a trip like this right now.......

I hope I can make it, haven't been off road for like two years, damn....

Good work Lenny, keep it up until he makes the reservations.Hope you can make it showa, just go for it.

  17. COUNT DOWN, under one month. Boy am I looking forward to this. WE always have a great time seeing everyone each year. Only three of us have been to every Jamboree; Jeff, Lenny & myself. Not going to have the trailer replacement, will be pulling my little single axle from last year. Haven't found the deal YET! Seems in AZ the trailers go for less during the summer when Dune Season is over.

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I am to. realy looking forward to seeing everyone.Just found out this past week our son and grandson is coming down from Alaska that week and they may be joining us there. For anyone interested the KOA now has ATV rentals right on site,I think he even said thay have a utv or two also.

  18. I was able to drive it about 20 miles to get back to mh. But could hear noise in rear of trooper,so I took it real easy. I'm not even a pretend mechanic, so my young bud tore into it,he's the one that overhauled motor for me. Anyway, several of the bolts inside were broken off,or loose. Part of tooth gone on one gear. Some small metal pieces mixed in oil ,little piece of housing was worn off. It had the upgrade almost 2 yrs ago, but can't say as to if it was put in correctly? All the work that that mechanic had done on trooper was great, but I think that was his 1st diff upgrade.I was climbing steep loose hill, with all 4 locked in,when I 1st heard noise. It was more of hill than I normally try,but it was the way to get home.

Question? when the co. says they are upgraded differentials, what have they done?

    Should I still use Lenny's upgrade ?

If housing can still be used why not replace the broken gear along with Lennys upgrade? much cheaper then whole diff.

  19. For those of you using Mark Fisher, have you been happy with his service? I used him in the past. Initially he was great, but a year or two later I needed to adjust my policy and I could not get any response from him either by phone or email. Just wondering if it was an isolated incident or not.

I have no issues with him.been fine for me.
