  1. That looks kinda bad. If it doesn't solve your problem, it will at least help things.
  2. Been there, done that! Sucks!!!
  3. Ya know, the USPS wonders why Trump didn't want them funded anymore.
  4. Wow, maybe you should frame that one and order another one. Finding anything that is made in the USA is becoming more difficult nowadays.
  5. I wonder if you could get a better start with a larger battery cable, like Joe said.
  6. Delivery is getting so slow anymore. A package sent from my house to another residence 75 miles away took 3 months. Just getting stupid slow.
  7. Those beings (I refuse to refer to them as human) seem to have their own set of rules that only apply to them. Their days are numbered.
  8. Well, I started it again today after sitting for several days. Cranked right up without a hitch. Guess it was the solenoid all along.
  9. Nothing on the paperwork that was included with the starter that gives you any useful info?
  10. So you are back to replacing the cables?
  11. But you have a functioning fuel pump, correct? I don't know what would be obstructing the fuel from reaching the cylinder.
  12. Don't forget to check the flywheel also, if you can. I would think that, with the hours on it and the starter being new, that the flywheel would be the suspect this time.
  13. Is there play in the starter shaft? Or did the clutch for the flywheel wear enough to throw the flywheel out of alignment enough to jamb the starter gear and prevent it from contacting the flywheel?
  14. Is the cable the same gauge from the battery to the starter? Sounds like something is dropping the amps from the battery to the solenoid. I don't understand how your starter works, since it doesn't have a bendix to push the gear out to contact the flywheel. But if it was working properly after installing the new one, I would have to believe that it was something internal with the starter.
  15. Is the injector pre or post butterfly valve? Assuming that it's similar to an automotive throttle body fuel injection system, that puts the injector before the butterfly valve. In that case, it could be the butterfly valve. But if it's similar to mine, it's a mechanical butterfly valve, and should be opening and closing via a cable. You can check that. You mentioned that the coil is getting power. Have you confirmed that the spark plug is actually firing? Maybe it's a overhead valve out of adjustment? Just spitballing here, trying to help.
  16. Just a thought.
  17. Hey, for future peace of mind, I would put a fuel filter in the line somewhere between the pump and the engine. Surprisingly, mine does have a filter mounted to the frame just past the pump. Don't know if Massimo decided to add one due to some warranty repairs, or what the cause was. I'm sure you could find a filter that's designed to work with a fuel injection system and can be added to the rubber line. You may be able to remove the injector and clean it, assuming that it ends up being your issue.
  18. I guess that if the starter wasn't being supplied with enough current, that it wouldn't kick the gear out to engage the flywheel, but it would be enough to spin the motor. But unfortunately, these days you just can't trust that parts will function properly for a long period of time. If you remove the starter and hook it up to a known good battery, does it kick the gear out?
  19. Is it fuel injected? If so, maybe the injector is bad?
  20. If your not getting spark or the fuel pump isn't priming, you may just have to replace the ECU. There may be some way to test it, but I certainly don't know. I'm flying blind with mine. Don't want to pay for the manual if it ain't worth it.
  21. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key to the run position. It's building up the pressure for starting the engine.
  22. Hope it works for you!
  23. Gotcha. Mine doesn't have that diode. Mine has a cable from the battery to the solenoid, and from the solenoid to the starter. There's also one from the battery to the wiring harness.
  24. Are those cables very elaborate? I considered making my own, but I don't have the correct gauge wire.
  25. So your starter works like an automotive type? Mine is a clutch type, meaning that the flywheel will spin freely in one direction and lock up in the other. So I don't have a gear that kicks out to contact the flywheel, it's always meshed with the flywheel. So whatever acts as a bendix with your starter sounds like it may not be functioning properly.
