  1. Just a thought.
  2. Hey, for future peace of mind, I would put a fuel filter in the line somewhere between the pump and the engine. Surprisingly, mine does have a filter mounted to the frame just past the pump. Don't know if Massimo decided to add one due to some warranty repairs, or what the cause was. I'm sure you could find a filter that's designed to work with a fuel injection system and can be added to the rubber line. You may be able to remove the injector and clean it, assuming that it ends up being your issue.
  3. I guess that if the starter wasn't being supplied with enough current, that it wouldn't kick the gear out to engage the flywheel, but it would be enough to spin the motor. But unfortunately, these days you just can't trust that parts will function properly for a long period of time. If you remove the starter and hook it up to a known good battery, does it kick the gear out?
  4. Is it fuel injected? If so, maybe the injector is bad?
  5. If your not getting spark or the fuel pump isn't priming, you may just have to replace the ECU. There may be some way to test it, but I certainly don't know. I'm flying blind with mine. Don't want to pay for the manual if it ain't worth it.
  6. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key to the run position. It's building up the pressure for starting the engine.
  7. Hope it works for you!
  8. Gotcha. Mine doesn't have that diode. Mine has a cable from the battery to the solenoid, and from the solenoid to the starter. There's also one from the battery to the wiring harness.
  9. Are those cables very elaborate? I considered making my own, but I don't have the correct gauge wire.
  10. So your starter works like an automotive type? Mine is a clutch type, meaning that the flywheel will spin freely in one direction and lock up in the other. So I don't have a gear that kicks out to contact the flywheel, it's always meshed with the flywheel. So whatever acts as a bendix with your starter sounds like it may not be functioning properly.
  11. Almost sounds like what mine was doing. Replacing the solenoid seemed to help mine. The UTV only had 14.6 hours on it, so you wouldn't think the solenoid would be bad already. When I checked the resistance between the 2, the OEM one was much higher. I don't understand it, but I don't understand how the starter was running backwards, either.
  12. Does your starter have a bendix, or is it a clutch type starter?
  13. Hate to mention it, but could your new starter have gone bad?
  14. Good luck with that. Ahhh, they surely do keep you busy, don't they?
  15. Edit - I believe it would be Hisun, from China, or at least that's what I found via Google.
  16. I don't know who is the original manufacturer, but I believe that Cub Cadet UTV'S are actually a rebadged unit, usually a Chinese company. Someone here with much more knowledge than me will hopefully chime in with the details. That may be helpful to your search. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
  17. Well whatever. He's been helpful with some questions I've had, and he answers my emails. He's even sent me a portion of his service manual (electric section). I can't fault the guy.
  18. Hey, I'm just passing along some information I got from a Massimo tech.
  19. Well, there ya go! Now you need to lower the UTV, put some of those tiny wheels and narrow sidewall tires, and a fart pipe. You could start a new fad!
  20. Lol, I'm with ya, buddy! I got something for those who come looking for me, too.
  21. Very nice!!! You better watch flying that flag. The secret police will be looking for you 😉
  22. Lol, yeah. I'll do it.
  23. I'm almost afraid to try starting the UTV again. I am afraid that yesterday was just a fluke, and I will be back to square one.
  24. Looks pretty good. Good idea!!!
  25. Keep your fingers crossed!!!
