  1. Anyone???
  2. I have a 2019 T-Boss 410 that I am about to change the thermostat and the fan switch on. In order to do this, I obviously will have to drain the coolant. Is there a petcock on drain plug somewhere in the cooling system that is for draining, or do I need to remove a hose to accomplish this? I am hoping that it can be done via some type of drain. Thanks!
  3. I don't understand why Tractor Supply refused to help, since that's where it was purchased, and it happened right after the sale. That doesn't speak well for Tractor Supply. When I received mine, it was supposed to include a roof, but apparently the driver hit some bad weather, and the roof was missing. He was nice enough about it, and refunded $200.00. I contacted Massimo the next morning and requested to purchase a new roof, advising them what happened. They sent me a new roof, free of charge, within 3 days. It was missing a thumb screw that holds the hood down, and they sent me one of those, also. So I have (so far) had satisfactory dealings with them. Have you heard of any of the newer models having the overheating issues? Maybe it was tied to the Hisun engines? I have seen several examples of kits to override the fan, so I assume that this problem isn't just a Massimo problem? What I don't understand is, since it's just a matter of a jumper wire and some electric tape, why these kits are available, unless the kits include something else, such as a switch to manually run the fan?
  4. It sounds like you have the bugs worked out of yours. I only have 14.4 hours on mine. I haven't found a trailer, and there are no trails nearby. But I am gaining information from you and others here. I researched this machine before I put in a bid. I didn't find anything in the way of poor ratings on this particular model. Maybe I didn't dig deep enough. I will be switching out the thermostat and the fan switch soon. The reason I asked before about if it would overheat while idling is that's all I really have to work with right now. Hopefully since it's a different make of engine, it won't experience the same issues. So, I hope you don't mind if I occasionally pick your brain for information, at least until I get a chance to really get it out on some trails.
  5. Well, there you go pooping on my party!
  6. That actually makes me feel a bit better about mine. Thanks! Hopefully that means there's a level of reliability.
  7. Yeah, I guess so. But Yahama being the large corporation that it is, and the much smaller Massimo taking profits away from them, I just can't see Yahama looking the other way. But it is what it is.
  8. Gees, I wonder how they got away with that without a court battle of copyright infringement.
  9. That's interesting. Did Hisun supply engines for Yamaha, or did Yamaha supply parts to Hisun? My engine is a Lanhai. Does the overheating happen only while being operated, or will it happen while idling? I let mine idle for a while a few days ago, it showed only 3 bars on the dash before the fan came on. I purchased a colder thermostat and a lower fan switch to install. The thermostat is a 147 degree unit, and the switch is a 167 degree unit. I guess I'm just nervous about running without a thermostat. I've read articles on both sides of the topic. I just want to be as safe as possible.
  10. May I ask what Yamaha parts?
  11. So you are happy with it now that you have the bugs worked out?
  12. Weren't you fighting with Massimo about your windshield? Did you get hit with the last hurricane? I don't know how you can do it. The humidity sounds brutal. It gets hot and humid here in Ohio, but I doubt it compares to that in Louisiana.
  13. Where are you that you get those kind of temps? I gotta say, I couldn't get used to that.
  14. So, did you use it again this weekend?
  15. Mine is fuel injected, also. Has running without a thermostat and the fan on continuously, affected the fuel mixture or mileage?
  16. I meant to ask you folks, are your machines fuel injected or carbureted?
  17. That's good to know. What is used as an alternator on these vehicles?
  18. Does it cause any stress on the battery and/or the charging system? I know the automotive electric fans can draw a lot of juice.
  19. Thanks. I wonder if Water Wetter would add some cooling to the equation?
  20. Yeah, I'm somewhat familiar with Dexcool from the automotive side. Never read or heard anything good about that stuff. I believe it was a GM favorite for some of their vehicles. Caused some major headaches for mechanics and owners. I can't believe that crap is still on the market!
  21. Thank you, sir. I did a search of my own, and located numerous types of coolant, some being specific to powersports. Without being very experienced in the field of powersports, I don't know if the powersports-specific coolant is just a rebranded automotive coolant, or a good product. Most carry a hefty price compared to automotive coolant, and I'm not sure if it's any better of a product.
  22. In fact I have. No particular type, just one that is compatible with aluminum heads and radiator. I thought maybe someone here may recommend something, since I am quite new to this. A particular brand, maybe?
  23. What type of coolant is required for these engines? Is it the same as a car or truck? I would expect that it would be specific to a vehicle with aluminum heads and radiator. Thanks!
  24. Would it need one if it's not supplying heat to the cab? I don't see the need for one unless it's used for heat.
  25. Did you change your thermostat? Where did you find one?
