  1. yes I can hear it clearly.. sounds like a knock to me. With Massimo it could literally be anything.
  2. piston slap /wrist pin .. ? lots of possibilities. Rod knock usually just gets louder on revving. Drain oil, see if theres metal in it.
  3. Massimo will gladly do the repairs free ... NOT! I agree its likely your neutral switch.
  4. I know. It's crazy what they want. I bought 2021 ram new ,it was $56K!! Now the same truck is $66K. Bidenflation sux
  5. The price of everything has skyrocketed under Bidenflation.. Price a new well equipped Pickup if you want sticker shock
  6. Are there UTVs with selectable gears and no CVT and power dump beds? I think Honda has a 6 speed unit
  7. Hisun is definitely crap.. Even Massimo admitted to me they are crap on the phone.. Thats why they dumped HISUN and refused to honor any warrenty.. They switched to LINHAI engines.. Mine was junk til I swapped out a bunch of parts with YAMAHA RHINO parts after 6 times in the shop . All at my expense .... .. now its a decent, not spectacular, but decent machine .. BEWARE of the dreaded HISUN overheating .. cooling fan setting is way too high.., engine will run near 250* and self destruct
  8. not an issue here.. we have no hills in the swamp!! 😄
  9. thanks.. pretty simple eh? good to know ....but I laughed at the part..." THIS VOIDS WARRENTY" lol like HISUN has a warrenty.....lololol
  10. same here.. it seems to be some kind of safety feature , not allowing fast reverse .. dont know how you would bypass it . let me know if you find a way
  11. My MSU 500 does not rev up in reverse. either . so it must be a limit in reverse only
  12. wouldnt running that much oil OVERFULL in a small engine like this cause oil leaks and oil burning ? That level increases pressure in crankcase, and excessive oil being slung by crank into cylinder walls and reduced power because of the drag on crank ....just sayin
  13. We found that bypassing the thermal switch on radiator to make fan run continuously when key is on, ended the overheating.....of course thats after we replaced the head gasket, then the warped burnt head and gasket again.. in beginning on hot day, it would overheat in 1-2 miles.... We tested their settings for switch. The fan engaged at 238 degrees if I remember correctly .. and the switch is on the COLD side!!! how hot was the engine ??? 250* -260*?? The heat in the cab was unbearable, I would be drenched in sweat in minutes. .. now with a new adjustable switch and engine staying 150*-160* , the cab is pleasant.. I would also Check yours to see if head gasket is fried. look for air bubbles in recovery bottle while idling hot. and / or water in oil.
  14. Welcome to the very large world of dis-satisfied Massimo owners.. I bought mine in 2017 . it broke on the first day.. To date, Massimo has never paid one dime for the many many repairs it needed.. only one shop will touch them in my state.. CASH ONLY up front! Good luck........... BTW.. is that a Lhasa Apso in your pic? looks just like mine that passed at 14 yrs old .. Loved that dog
  15. I still say if manufacturer didnt want you to DRAIN the oil and wanted you to vaccuum it out thru the dipstick, they would not have installed a DRAIN PLUG! just sayin
  16. While I am the first one to blast HISUN and everyone involved with them for poor quality and nonexistent warranty ....since I "hybridized" my Massimo with a bunch of Yamaha parts, its managed to be a decent machine .. Altho I did pull out several handfuls of my remaining hair in the beginning
  17. Trust me, you wont get a refund.. I bought my Massimo from Tractor Supply. in 2017 . It broke that same day with 001 mile on it.. They refused return and had no clue where to get it fixed. And to this day, it has been in shops 6 times in its first year, and neither Massimo or T.S. has paid a single dime if repairs .. But they generously gave me a $50 TS gift card!!! lol
  18. most say 20-25 hours or 1 year.. not 1 month unless you never turn it off! MAKE sure you use an oil approved for wet clutch........ DO NOT use automotive synthetic oil or your clutch will be toast
  19. I screwed up and bought a new 2017 Massimo MSU 500 from Tractor Supply because my elderly father cant ride a ATV anymore. .. big mistake.. It was bad enough that it broke on its first day but Tractor Supply did not even know who serviced them! As it turned out, NO ONE would! Massimo did not back their warranty or pay claims.. so no shop would work on them stay away from anything Massimo . or Hisun.. I have friends that have UTV Hondas and Kawasakis.. good machines.. I have 3 Honda ATVs.. great machines.. indestructible. I bought a 2023 CF MOTO 600 ATV last October.. It is impressive and trouble free and 2 yr warranty instead of 1 yr like the rest. but I do not know about their UTVs.. .. shop around .. Prices are high right now and inventories are low.. good luck.. Let us know what you buy
  20. I bought new..... still spent 2 years in and out of shop... as for street legal, you need to check with your state DMV.. some do not allow Low Speed Vehicles , UTVs /Golf Carts ...... find out what the requirements are and the cost to comply, what safety equipment, how much liability insurance, which street tires etc. .. they do not come "street legal"
  21. so it was lean A/F mix condition ... glad you solved it
  22. glowing red header usually means 1 of three things.. restricted exhaust pipe/muffler, very lean air/fuel mix or late ignition timing..
