  1. Greg & aefrn88, Appreciate your advise. I may just live with it for now and really don't want to get into the engine since I'm not an expert mechanic. it only happens when one trailer wheel gets in a rut. Last time it happened I just backed down a little and got a running start. 🙂 My situation is with a primitive landing that I built so I can repair where needed. I have a Boston Whaler 14 Ft with a trolling motor on front. I took off the gas engine since I'm not allowed to use gas on this particular lake. It helps make it lighter too.
  2. There appears to be a couple of experts here and had a question not related to speed but gearing. Is there a way to change the gearing ratio to improve torque? I have an Axis 500 and use it for launching a boat in a small lake on a gentle slope. It will pull it out but if one side of the trailer gets stuck, the engine just Boggs down in low; even in 4 wheel and locked differential. I would have thought the rear wheels would at least spin.
  3. Does it withstand the engine heat?
  4. Thanks for taking care of the spam, UTV Board Admin.
  5. Grumpman, Thanks lot for the image on how to change the lights. That helps a lot!
  6. That’s normal. It’s the same on my Axis 500. I never shift it in/out of 4WD when moving. Pay attention and you can hear the front servo engage/disengage when you press/depress.
  7. Interesting but I wouldn’t even know where to start on that topic. I’m not a mechanic and just assume it is what it is. Thanks anyway.
  8. I have an Axis 500 and at first glance at the rear lights can’t see how you get in to change bulbs. Anyone know how to change the bulbs?
  9. I have a 2021 Axis 500 that I use to launch my 14 ft Boston Whaler in/out of a watershed lake on a gentle slope primitive landing. The other day as I was pulling it out one of the trailer wheels got stuck. Gave it some gas and still stuck. I put the pedal to floor and the wheels would not even turn with it in Low and 4WD. I would have thought the wheels would at least spin. Very disappointed in the torque and wish there was away to set the gearing ratio lower.
  10. My HiSun Axis 500 is the same way. A small oil filter swivel wrench worked for me. The wrench is a metal band that tightens around the filter as you swivel the handle. Amazon has several. Smallest probably a 4” would work.
  11. I have a 14 ft Boston whaler that I pull with my Axis 500 and am able to launch it in a small lake behind my house. My Axis had an adaptor but as someone mentioned before is useless. This adaptor, which I found at Harbor Freight, fits the socket but I had to drill a hole in the top (90 degrees) from the existing hole to lock it in: https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/trailers-towing/hitches-receivers/ball-mount-hitch-with-2-inch-drop-94902.html I also had to adjust my tongue weight on the boat trailer based on the Axis hitch specs limit. Hope this helps.
  12. HiSun claims the adaptor is standard but it’s not. I finally found and extension adaptor at Harbor Freight that would fit into the socket but had to drill another hole to get it to line up so the pin would fit.
  13. I have a similar sound but not as prominent. Hard to detect unless you have someone ride in the back while twisted up side down.
  14. Not sure what you mean by “spin”. I’ve not noticed any issues but haven’t specifically tried to see if it would “spin” in reverse. I heard the HS 500 will automatically lock the differential when needed but haven’t verified that.
  15. As mentioned before I have an Axis 500. I believe mine is 8 gallons. Could be different on yours.
  16. Yep. Mine is the same. This shows you have a full tank. The indicators will disappear from right to left as it consumes fuel.
  17. The fuel indicator can be misleading on how to read it. I have Axis 500. It has bar indicators with the ‘near empty’’ bar being Red and all others up to full being Yellow or Amber. With a full tank all indicators are visible, including the red empty indicator. As fuel is consumed the indicators will disappear from right to left. Don’t let the visible red indicator fool you. It doesn’t mean that it’s about empty.
  18. Don't give up! Call them. I had a similar issue. Lowes in my area had a bunch to sell and when I asked them about service they had no clue. So I researched and found two nearby. Here's the main head quarters contact info off their website: HISUN MOTORS 310 E. UNIVERSITY DRIVE MCKINNEY, TX 75069 PHONE: 972-446-0760 FAX: 972-446-0765 OFFICE HOURS: MON - FRI 8:30AM-5:30PM CT I had an issue with the front servo actuator getting stuck in 4 wheel. Found a place within 30 miles, which was a Cub Cadet dealer, took it to them and they ordered the parts and fixed it within 2 weeks. I have no idea where you're located but if push comes to shove you can contact the place I use in Taylors, SC. : Ferguson Equipment Co Service Center 55 Ed Few Rd. Taylors, SC 29687 864-895-8089 Good Luck!
  19. Check out the HiSun website to make sure. I thought the same being that I’m located in the northeast part of SC. Turns out there are two service centers within 1 hour. Neither sale HiSun but they do service. One is a Cub Cadet dealer.
  20. So here is a thought. You may want to take it to a reputable UTV dealer and have them change it. I would recommend a HiSun dealer or qualified service center since it appears HiSun makes all these models. At least if they don’t do it correctly they will be responsible for making it right.
  21. Make sure the seat belts are connected. This is a built in safety feature on both Coleman and Hisuns that it won’t go over 10mph unless the seat belts are snapped.
  22. I had the exact same problem. Was testing both 4WD and differential lock. Worked the first couple times then was locked for good. I checked several things including the fuses. Finally took it to a local service place and they discovered the actuator was bad. Waiting to get the part in now. Suggest to check the fuses first.
  23. Just bought an Axis 500 and 4wd and differential completely locked and won’t disengage. Jacked the front and moved the wheels by hand but no success. Found a service manual at manualib.com but almost useless. Electrical diagram designations don’t coincide with actual components and wire colors are off. Are the 4wd relays on the same board as the fuses? How do you test them? Can’t remove the servo connector to check it either.
