Does anyone else have insurance on their Trooper? Mine is up for renewal, $212/yr for full coverage & max $ amounts. Required in AZ if you drive on the street. Also who with? I am with Foremost Insurance, the only one so far to insure it.

Thanks,

Mine is also in Arizona and street legal. Carrier is Farmers. I try not to think about how much insurance preminums are, just let the wife handle it and go enjoy the toys, otherwise I'd go nuts.

I have to think about it. Too many toys and the Insurance Cost is getting out of control. Insurance is a sore spot with me, a legal scam! Only thing worth is CREDIT, the drug of choice in USA.

Now that you've got me thinking about insurance I've developed a headache. Thanks.

If I stopped paying for this stuff just think of all the extra money I'd have to say get those larger tires and rims, turbo, GPS system, power steering, and air conditioning for the hot Arizona summers.

Yeah man I can only dream, but I still have a headache!

I got mine through who I thought was your agent,Marc Fischer? Mine is a little over $300 a year.

Yes, he is my present agent and this year is $212. I always revisit my Insurance cost the third year of the policy to see if there is a better price out there. Most of the time there IS! I found another Company yesterday that showed the Trooper in their list of UTVs so I am calling them today. I will share what I find out. I did the online quote for my dirt bikes and they were much cheaper. When I input the Trooper the site said I had to call.

My headache just went away. A new Lowrence Baja GPS HDS-5 just got delivered. If thinking about insurance can do this, I'm gonna start thinking about my fereral tax bills!

Don't think about Fed Taxes until July.

Already have my Garmin but don't have my Mexico chip yet.

SO, will have to move on to INSURANCE.

Called Markel American Insurance who is suppose to specialize in Toys and had our Trooper listed in their covered Toys. But when I called they said it had TOO MANY cc's and will not cover. They were more than happy to cover my dirt bikes but not the Trooper so I declined.

SO, I called Marc Fischer and said I wanted to make changes to the Trooper's policy and wanted to insure 2 dirt bikes. Changed the Trooper to Liability only with no Comp or Collision, suppose to be between $65 & $91. The dirt bikes are $75 each as that is the min any Insurance Company will write a policy for. I have been told this before by Progressive when they Insured my Street Bike. So in the end I will be paying the same as before as the Trooper's old policy but will have reduced coverage and include the two dirt bikes. With the new OHV Sticker Program in AZ you can ride part-time on the street with a dirt bike but you have to have Insurance thus coverage on the dirt bikes.

So now I move on to the next problem.

Just received delivery of a 2024 AMP Pro.  Thought I'd start a thread with my impressions as I use it and learn more.  There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of real-world usage information out there on this model.  Hope this will help others as they research.
      Intended Use Cases
Fire mitigation / slash removal from a 5 acre forested and well-gamble-oaked property.  The previous owners thought as much about fire mitigation as I do about fashion: not much. Snow removal Stump pulling General hauling (rock, lumber, etc.) Weimaraner energy depletion.  Wasn't an original use case, but a nice added bonus.  Experiences So Far
Wasn't impressed that two of the bumpers on the underside of the bed where it sits upon the frame were missing.  The metal on metal contact has damaged the powder coating and the frame.  I expect a little better QC.
I've only put a few hours on it, so not a ton to report on usage.  It isn't quiet; it's silent.  I can't even detect an electric note from the motor. I removed (and subsequently replaced) the motor cover noticed that the motor is German and made by Schambuller.  The motor controller is Italian and made by Dana TM4.  Given the operating specs of both I found on the web, I suspect both are higher quality than the previous Navitas (which is supposed to be decent).  The motor is rated at 25 hp and 71.5 lb-ft of torque.  It feels very powerful.  All the torque is delivered instantly, if desired.
The bed is huge and has an electric dump as standard.  Great feature but would like it to go up a bit more.  Probably not feasible from an engineering perspective, but I want and I need ;).
Power steering is nice, but vague.  Probably common to many UTVs, but I am accustomed to more direct results from input.  Plan early and plan often.
In our first full day of usage, we hauled about 1/2 as much slash as the entire rest of the year when I was doing it by hand cart.  I may get fatter, but I'll also get more done.  After a few days of usage, the battery meter has gone down by 1/10th.
      Until next time...

Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.
      Thanks so much!
