I have had this happen a couple of times now and it's getting to be a pain. What happens is the breather filter is always wet with oil and it runs out and down all over every thing. I did about a mile of 58 mph, 6000 rpm and then put it on the trailer and notice it had dropped oil all over under the engine. Earlier in the ride I came down some hills and worked the engine in compression and was getting clouds light blue smoke. I'm worried that I may need a ring job because of the blow by and smoke. And earlier, oil had been sucked into the manifold. To protect the manifold from getting filled up with oil again, the tube that goes from the valve cover to the manifold has a bottle in the line with vac coming off the top and line from the valve cover going to the bottom of the bottle. To protect my frame from getting oiled, I plan to run a hose from the breather down and out, maybe through another catch bottle.

Any ideas or suggestions? Please.

Take the oil fill cap off and see if there is blow by coming out. Take the cap off and tape a rag over the opening. Take it for a drive and see if anything comes out, bottom & top. Sounds like blow by! Could also be valve stem seals. Run a compression test!

On my 09 they have the hose from the valve cover going directly into the air intake hose past the air filter.see photo

That's interesting, no separator, just dump it into the intake manifold ahead of the butterfly valve. I think that would make for a lot of smoke on mine. Can you take another photo from the seats looking backwards. 2680519580104110397omcpWr_th.jpg

This was taken Oct 08, It happened again Sat 04-17-10, so it's been a problem all along. Think I can get any warranty on it???? :)

Thanks

that picture i put the link to shows it pretty good, you can see the black hose going from the valve cover to the chrome intake tube. The small hose goes from the valve cover to the intake manifold.

This probably probably stems from their poor air filter. It sounds like a ring job to me snowbird

Have you had any luck with this? Do you have a compression problem?

I haven't done anything about this yet, haven't checked my compression, don't have a tester, just a few weird things to contain any oil that blows by.

I'll get around to working on it sooner or later and will post what ever I find out.

Hey all, I was just wondering what you guys consider a necessary upgrade or spare part to have or mod onto your machine.
I'm going for a kind of shtf survival rig that's not going to be SUPER heavy and I'm looking at getting:
A spare belt (I keep seeing this mentioned everywhere I look so it must be important)
A spare tire and mount( So would I need a jack like one from an old jeep or something else?)
      Tire chains for the winter
And maybe a cargo bed upgrade so things don't slide out.
      Bumpers because duh.
I already installed high output lights and have a windshield, roof, back window, and winch. And I outfitted a Molle panel for the back of my passenger seat with extra supplies like food, first aid, and spare mags.
Any advise on increasing durability, longevity, and having something on hand because it's absolutely necessary would be a plus.
      Thanks so much!

When I am moving forward on my Hisun 500, the motor accellerates up and down while I have my foot on the gas pedal.  It also is not idling very well.  Both symptons appeared at about the same time.  What should I look for?  Thanks.

My 2018 Massimo MSU 500 was operating just fine.  I parked it for 2 weeks in my shop now the unit starts and runs great but at 18 MPH it cuts out. It's not the seatbelt safety switch that engages at 10 MPH if it is unbuckled. I purchased a new ECU but that did not resolve the problem. No error code is presented. I reset the ECU replaced the fuel injector, coil, sparkplug and spark plug wire. Same response. I don't mind replacing faulty components but don't want to chase parts and hope for the best. Any ideas??

I parked my 2018 Massimo MSU500 in a clean shop for two weeks. When I brought it out for routine ranch work it started cutting out at 18MPH. It's not the seatbelt safety switch, if the belt is not buckled that engages at 10 MPH. I replaced the ECU, fuel injector, coil, plug wire and spark plug. No error code is presented. I put the original ECU back in and reset it then adjusted the idle to 1800 rpm. I don't mind replacing faulty components but don't want to blindly parts chase hoping for the best. Does anyone have experience with a similar situation??
