09 Trooper m what 2 do to make more reliable?

I just bought a 09 Trooper and I am bringing it from California up to British Columbia Canada, I now realize that there is no longer a Joyner Supply of new parts so I am wondering what I should/can do to to avoid known problems and to prevent new ones.

I have followed Rocmocs and others posts and here is what I have got so far, please corrent if I am wrong.

1) Upgrade the front and rear diffs with a $100.00 each kit(I have seen on ebay) that supplies , shims, circlip and some new bolts as well as instrcutions on how to properly align the diff gears.

2) Water proof all the electrical connections and carefully go over the wiring to address areas where "Wire Rub" occurs.

3) Weld some type of support bracket to the Rear End?

4) Change out as many Nut and Bolts as possible to higher grade with locking nuts or washers.

5) Change stock Air Cleaner to K&N type.

6) Change out all fluids to synthetic, ie change Tranny from 90w to synthetic 75w/90, especially in colder climates

7) Some kind of issue with the cables , crimps pulling off? what can be done about this?

8) Upgrade 2wd/4wd switch from electric solenoid type to mechanical

9) Check ATV frequently for any bolts/nuts loosening up.

10) ??

3) Weld some type of support bracket to the Rear End? ( Only necessary on the very early model, mine was one of the first 50. Later they upgraded the brace fixing the problem. If your brace is a piece of rectangle steel, you have the upgrade. Mine was round tubing like the rest of the trooper)

7) Some kind of issue with the cables , crimps pulling off? what can be done about this? ( Again on the early Troopers, the cables on the shifters pulled apart on some of the Troopers. Mine never did but I have another set of cables just in case)

8) Upgrade 2wd/4wd switch from electric solenoid type to mechanical (More of any issue if you get your Trooper wet a lot. I don't in AZ so have not had any problems. But just in case I have an extra solenoid)

The Rest is pretty much routine maintenance you would have to do on any UTV/ATV.

Welcome,glad to see you came over here to this forum.As i told you,you will get quicker response here.I know your having it shiped up to you are you sure yours does not have the upgrade already for the 4wd? Mine is a 09 also but luckily they did the upgrade here at joyner once it got here from china.They installed the manual lever on the dash(same as the diff locker levers).Good luck with your trooper,Im sure your going to enjoy it.

Hi Rocmoc,

How did you waterproof you wire conections? I have whats called liquid tape its pretty thick and then dries to rubber will that work? maybe just wipe it on at the ends of the wires? also I am thinking about putting breathers on the ends of the diff rubber hoses to keep water out. Did you do anything like that? Thank you for your time.

I haven't. Live in Southern AZ where it hardly rains except in monsoon season and you don't want to be caught out in a monsoonal storm. After it rains, the moisture is absorbed into the ground so quickly we rarely have mud. Thus far I have been successful keeping it dry. This is probably something I will address in 2011 as the rubbers are really starting to go.

Hi Rocmoc, how are you. I also live in Arizona and loving it by the way. Yes the rubbers on these joyners are junk and not uv protected, my troopers are always garaged kept so they should last longer, but everytime I replace something on mine, I replace it with better quality parts ect. Thank you for your time.

      Hey guys! Newbie here. I'm an old man who's better with plowing a mule (4-legged kind) than these newfangled beasts. I, and a friend of mine, just bought new Coleman sxs and are having to finish the assembly. I've been reading on this site and I'm falling on the mercy of you experts. The only way I'm an expert is that an "ex" is a has been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure. LOL First off, the 2 buggies have no ignition switches. They seem to mount on the dash, not the opening in the steering wheel shaft cover, so we ordered new ones that are supposed to fit. They are 8 inches long, and have a 4-wired white plugin which is slightly rectangled when looking at the end of the plug. The trouble is there's nothing to plug into. There is a three-wire grey plug close enough to reach the four-wire plug, but of course, they are not compatible. 
      Secondly, the blinker, light, ect. unit on steering wheel just spins around when touched. I see no way in heaven or earth to secure it. I've looked at a diagram on the Powersports site, but can't detect how it mounted. Fellows I'd be so grateful for any help with this. Me and my mule will even plow your garden for free, for your help. LOL

      (posted a similar question to the Hisun folks) Looked at a lot of UTVs lately. Couple Questions about Massimo. Some people say they are just cheap with no customer service. Other people seem to have no problems with them.
      Any opinions on Massimo durability?
      Heard parts might hard to get. Is that true?
      What models are the best?
      If you had one and didn't like it what do you recommend?

      I have a Bennche 700 EFI Bighorn. I’ve recently been unable to get it to start. After a little troubleshooting I realized my fuel pump was not pumping fuel. This weekend I emptied the gas and replaced it with new. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel injector. I also replaced the battery, spark plug and made sure all my fuses and relays were good. I have confirmed that the float on the fuel pump is not obstructed. The UTV is about 12 years old and has less than 100 hours on it. It has not run in over a year.  Not sure whats going on?!? After doing a little reading I'm leaning towards it being an issue with the ECU or perhaps a faulty wire in the wiring harness. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking or what I could be dealing with? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!
