does anyone have a 4 wheel drive actuator laying around they want to get rid of?

mine fried it's motor and burned some the copper traces on the circuit board, so I plan to modify it to use FETs to control it. I have my son looking at his RC car motors to see if they'll work.

Thanks,

Well this fix was fun, some of the traces on the circuit board were burned, the heavy ones that went from power in to the relay, so I did away with the relay and used FETs, the motor was fried so I ordered a new one, but it didn't have the half moon shaft and was longer and didn't have the same connection and while I waited for it to get here, I disassembled the old motor and rewound the armature, twice, the first, I matched what I took out, the second time, I added some extra turns, went from 31 to 45 turns which is supposed to give more torque and lower rpm. When I got it back together, it did sound slower. Anyway I fixed the old one and it is in and works. I suspect part of the reason for the failure is that the motor bearing got dry and seized or partially seized, the nylon end cap was melted a bit around the bearing. A new actuator is ~$160, Rocmoc has one for 135 and my repairs costs me 4 FETs and two resistors, the wire came from another motor I saved and I had fun playing with it.

I have a 2021 UV34XL and I am kind of looking to change it up from the orange wheels and maybe do a wrap?  Please share photos of any XLs that has been modified to look better and any seat covers recommended.thanks

Haven't posted in a while since solving the excessive cabin noise issue, so I thought I would share a few upgrades to my Sector... Realize that this is driven daily on the street, so some of the mods are to make it more streetworthy.

      Locking gas door.

      Rear view mirror.

Modified windshield for better airflow in cabin.

Lowered and modified headrest bar for improved rear view.  Tailgate protector.

      Folding armrests.

Overhead utility rack.  Keeps the interior cooler and dryer, too!

      Folding rear seats.

      Dust cover and seat protector.
If anyone wants links to the rear view mirror, seats, or arrests, let me know and I will post.  But know that everything requires some level of fabrication.  The utility rack was all custom built.  Cheers!

I posted this before , but I had the year wrong. The part I need is for a 2014, I don't know what all years will work, but I need the 2 bearing style with the spacer in the middle. It looks like this pic. If anyone has one I'll buy it rite away. my email is [email protected]. Thanks, RC

Hope I posted this in the right place. Looking for the left side shaft carrier where the rear bearings go for an 1100cc sand viper, I understand an 800 cc carrier will also work. I need the old style two bearing with the spacer in the middle, the new style with just the one wide bearing wont work. If anybody has one I'll buy it right away. my email is [email protected]
