Let's talk air filters

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found an aftermarket air filter upgrade such as K&N, or the like, that'll fit the T-Boss?

This is the one that came stock in mine.  I'd like something a little better.

Those  type material filters are good filters as long as you keep them oiled with 30 weight or air filter oil.

Certainly with you on the air filter oil, that's a must in the dusty conditions I ride in.

I'm wondering if they're are any other options out there that may improve flow.

I thought that was just a pre-filter, and there was a paper element inside.

No paper on the 550.  Weird that the buck and T-Boss 410 have that style filter and the 550 has the foam.  Maybe the foam is considered the better way to go since it's washable/reusable?  Dunno, just riffing.

My bad, I wasn't aware that you had the 550.

No problem.  I assumed all T-Boss's had the same filter.

I thought so, as well. I can see that as a pre-filter, but not as the whole filter element itself. My Ariens mower has a foam pre-filter around a paper element. When I first saw the picture that you posted, I thought maybe somehow the paper element was omitted. I stand corrected.

Some older briggs engines on pushmowers use that type material as the filter. My Mule has a pleated paper filter and a thin round piece of that material that i oil to catch the bigger dust,

their may be some way to convert the filter, or modify to like a  cold air intake of sorts. similar to this image.png.e7a683870ddf8fc1e22ec7125fe44f1b.png

where it just clamps to the intake tube.

I can see it on a small displacement push mower, but on a larger engine that was designed for off-road use, I would assume that there should be more filter than a foam piece.

Has anyone replaced the stock shocks and springs on their 2015 Dominator 800 X2 to ride alittle smoother are just changing the springs out.I gotten alittle spoiled riding in my son's rzr 1000xp.
My wife just made a comment why don't ride as smooth as our son's thing.lol
I'm 62 she's 61 the little rough ride doesn't really bother me. I drive a concrete mixer for a living.
I really like the Odes it's pretty good power for for only 800cc
I took off the cat and the stock muffler. Put a glasspack with 2" inlet and outlet it has a good deep tone and not really very loud. I'll find out Sunday when we hit the woods .It's definitely more peppy.

I've looked long and hard and can't find an oil filter.  Wondering if there is one.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Also, live in Canada - we have no Massimo service centers or dealers, only HiSun.  Are HiSun and Massimo related?

Hi, I’m new here.  I’ve read a lot of strings about aftermarket parts, but not a lot is 100% clear if it works or doesn’t so I’m asking for anyone’s input on aftermarket ball joints that fit 08 trooper T2 and aftermarket rear trailing arm bushings
Any info on part numbers or specific brands would be greatly appreciated!
      thanks, Doug

I want to get at the air filter and check for dust, etc. I have a 2020 Massimo 400 Buck. The manual says to lift the cargo bed. Okay, then pop the "clips" on the air filter "box." Well, I don't see any clips on the box, only about ten screws holding the box-top down. Did I miss something? This should not be hard to get to. (Ha!) Please help.

I installed the 2019 exhaust upgrade yesterday.  Overall went very well, but my rear driveshaft / u_joints are extremely hot.   Is there some sort of heat shield that should be added.  TIA for any input
