Trooper riding in Tucson

Recommended Posts

The pics don't do justice to the size of the boulders and hills. Plenty of dings under the Trooper after yesterday. There was a Rhino with us and I do have to say it did a great job.

Hi rocmoc,

Great pictures taken by your friends. Living near Chiva Falls I must say the pictures really don't tell how knarly the area is. For those interested in riding the area you have to LOVE ROCKS. The scenery makes it worth while.

Thanks for the pictures.

    • First Time UTV Buyer

Hello everyone. I’m looking into getting a UTV to mainly use at the hunting lease. Need to be able to haul around gear and decoys and at least one dog kennel. Would also like to use occasionally around the neighborhood (Golf carts and UTVs are allowed in my area). I know I want a 4x4 and don’t necessarily need something that’s gonna go 40-50 mph.  I’m an engineer and enjoy maintaining all me vehicles/ toys so I can give something a once over and notice any glaring defect but I have a few UTV questions   Is there anything I should watch out for? Any specific questions I need to ask the seller? How many hour/ miles is too many? I want something used but not used up. Anyone feel their UTV has been underpowered- should I get at least a YYY cc engine? Theres a 2014 Kawasaki Mule 4x4 XC with a nice 5x10 trailer for sale that I’ve been eyeing, anyone have good/bad comments about this particular vehicle? Thanks!!

    • 2015 Joyner Renegade Great customer service

I went down to Phoenix and picked up a new Joyner Renegade R4 a week ago Sunday. I can not say enough good about how I was treated. I hate driving in Phoenix and I am 4 1/2 hours from Phoenix. I called and spoke to Brandon the sales manager and asked if there was any way I could pick the buggy up on Sunday. He said no problem, he had one of his employees meet me there on Sunday. This way the traffic was no where near as bad as during the week days, although the heat was bad. I am used to highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's here in the Gila Mountains and it was 100 degrees there, so I was sweating like the proverbial stuck pig. I got it home and the next day, I had a couple minor issues, I called Brandon at 3 in the afternoon, the next morning at 10, Fed Ex pulled in with the parts I needed. I am 61 years old and this was the best customer service I have ever received. About the buggy, I have had 2 Polaris Rangers, a 2007 and a 2009. I had issues with both and one of the issues was broken drive belts. When they break, it is quite a job to get those strings unwrapped from the fly wheel. I also bought a Honda Big Red. The reason I bought it was it was not belt driven and had an automobile drive shaft. This was a decent buggy but REALLY lacked in power. I had to be very careful where I went with it, as if a hill was somewhat steep, it would not make it up. Even an average sized hill, I would be hardly moving by the time I got to the top. I think this was 2 things, not enough power and no lower range. I am totally happy with the Joyner, the 1100 engine gives more than enough power and this buggy is built to last even in this rock invested country I am in. When comparing the Polaris's I had and the Honda, the Joyner takes home the bacon, hands down. Although, from what I have heard Polaris has made improvements but their prices are in my opinion not in line with the product. Gary

    • Gas leak from intake of carb after setting long time

2007 Joyner 650 Sand Spider, has carburetor leak out of intake after sitting for a long time, I was going to take it off the intake manifold, but found that nuts are real hard to get to, started to think I need to remove it with the intake manifold, but not sure about the gaskets, I do not have any, so this may turn into a problem I don't want, but the gas is just pouring out as fast as the fuel pump can pump it, I was hoping it would stop after a while, as if maybe the float was stuck, and that gas flow would free it up, but no such luck today, maybe tomorrow I will try it again, so my question is has anyone deal with this issue, and is there an easier way to fix this? Should I buy a gasket kit before starting this, do I take the carb apart and clean it, if so will I need a kit to put it back together? Not sure what carb is on here, besides the stock one, I have no manual that tells me what it is, XIANGLI UU276M CSHI0E GO4 is all I can find on it, and the letters are real funky, like they were written by hand with an electric scribe. Thanks
