  1. Anything I can do to help.. I wish I would have had somebody guide me thru the nightmare.. especially since now I see so many Massimos with the exact same issues I had.. and Massimo Service Dept is zero help.. an absolute joke ... Dont know if I told you before, but mine actually overheated the first time, on its first day with exactly 1 mile on it... Massimo never lifted a finger to help me after repeated calls to them.. and Tractor Supply said NOT OUR PROBLEM... pitiful BUT ITS RUNNING GOOD NOW!!!
  2. sorry.. just can t help it .. When I think of Massimo I get irritable .. Taking mine back to Indian Bayou National Forest tomorrow .. 30 miles of trails.. lots of fun... hope it continues to perform up to expectations.. good luck with yours.. they are fun machines when they run right
  3. Oil leak is the one thing mine never had.. knock on wood... But I agree, separate the two , clean them up and use hi-temp RTV is the only solution.. unless the bolts are loose . might check that first
  4. Massimo does not answer emails or phone calls. and never return phone messages.. They got your monery, they could not care less what problems you have.. They arethe worst company I have ever seen. Try ordering the part online from others
  5. Well, dont count on it... look at it this way.. General Motors owned the Airbag company in China that has killed 135 people with shrapnel from the charge going off . And to date has had 30 million airbags recalled... Chinese built is still Chinese built .. those 10 yr old supervisors cant catch all the mistakes in the factory by the 9 year olds doing the assembly
  6. a bit of news for you.. Linhai Motors in china ... IS OWNED BY YAMAHA ... go figure
  7. You think China cares about that stuff? They steal our military weapons and crafts secrets, build copies and sell them .. we do nothing.. Who knows if they paid Yamaha anything .. The Rhino UTV is exactly like my MSU .. I bet every part on it would fit ....thats a older version rhino below ... new MSU on right ...
  8. The Hisun engine in mine is an exact CHINESE clone of the original Yamaha Rhino ..The Yamaha parts are just more expensive and apparently well worth it! I have no idea about the Linhai engines designs .. Massimo switched to them 2 yrs ago, because HISUN had so many problems ... In fact if I could not get this thing working, I had called a ATV/UTV engine supplier to see if a remanufactured YAMAHA engine would work.. He said yes
  9. new Hisun Head,... Yamaha Head Gasket and Waterpump .. It ran perfectly yesterday again... If you keep these engines cool, they run well...
  10. yeah, I liked it before. it performs well, it just was SO FREAKIN UNRELIABLE . less than 5 miles and broken , 6 straight times in the shop and Masimo Service was so horribly bad .. They actually told me they stopped using HISUN engines because they were junk and would not warrantee them .. Mine had less than 300 miles.. His exact words were....." NEVER GONNA HAPPEN" so Imagine my response . He hung up on me .. Now with some YAMAHA parts and full time fan, its working well .. I have put 200 miles on it since repairs ... NO ISSUES AT ALL
  11. No, not me. No issues with windshield.. just too hot with it on... and yeah, Cat 5 Hurricane Laura devastated a lot of area in west LA with 150-180 mph winds and a 20foot storm surge ....but I am in central LA right on coast... we got 75mph winds and 6 feet of storm surge.. not too bad.... no damage to any of my three properties ... I am having a ball with this thing now that its working... I really enjoyed pulling my buddies Kawasaki Mule out of a big mud hole after he got stuck and I didnt on the Atchafalaya River
  12. Cajun Country.. Down in the swamp , south Louisiana.. our temps run high 94-99* ............but its so humid the heat index runs 108* to 112* right now... I got up this morning at 5AM, it was already 88* !!! And the MSU still does not run hot!!!! FULL TIME FAN BABY! I removed the winshield on mine.. much cooler for me
  13. Oh yeah.. I ran it all day today.. NEVER GOT HOT! and temp was near 100* today.. I m telling you, run your fan 100% , you will not regret it
  14. good news.. these are fun when they run.. Mine seems to be cured of the dreaded Massimo overheat disease now.. running great .. It took awhile though... Im thinking the Yamaha gasket and ful time fan is the key to long term success. Enjoy yours now..
  15. so, whats the verdict? Running good ? not overheating?
  16. I thought about that too, but its running so much cooler now I m not worried.. Even the heat that used to come up behind the seat is gone ,... Good Luck, and enjoy if it works.. They are a lot of fun when they run right
  17. With the Yamaha gasket, I ll bet you wont have any more issues if yu run the fan 100%
  18. since the repairs, mine has gained slightly.. It hit 42 mph last weekend with just me in it
  19. not at all.. it gets around 15 mpg on premium fuel ... Masimo manual recomends premium, not really sure it needs it. . same mpg as before .. But at least now I can actually use it...
  20. theres definitely no belt so its probably like the old magneto systems.. someone said it puts out 20 amps ... hows yours coming
  21. none that I can see.. charging normally ,no battery drain .Headlamps stil very bright.. but engine runs cooler by far
  22. another weekend of no overheating.. I m telling you guys. BYPASS THAT FAN SWITCH!!! Run the fan 100% ...IT WORKS
  23. Well, another weekend of fun in the sun.. right after Hurricane Laura theres lots of mud! and the damn thing did not run hot!!! WOO HOOO finally working properly and so far appears RELIABLY! And once more I would like to give a great big middle finger salute to the ahos at Massimo Motors Service Dept who refused to help me in any way...
  24. hahaha "LEGENDAY MSU500 Engine:??/ ... hahaha thats hysterical..
